We had a blast at the Zoo in San Antonio. Only downfall was that there was quite a bit of construction going on so a lot of the animals weren't out. I Love the new Africa Live. Seeing the Hippos from under the water was really neat and my son thought it was just the best thing ever.

I have taken my family to San Antonio Zoo a couple of times now. I went myself as a child and never forget how nice it was. They have literally hunderds and hundreds of animals and reptiles. The lines and parking is pretty bad though. My kids still had a great time. I would recommend packing a lunch or light snack along with plenty of drinking water as if you visiit in the summer well let's just says its TEXAS. It get pretty hot here in the summer. But overall this was a clean and fun zoo and we all had a great time. Prices are okay as the vary from kids ages.

The San Antonio Zoo is a place the whole family will enjoy. We make it at least one a year and there is always something new to see. The entire park is heavily shaded and there are plenty of seating areas to stop and rest. This is especially nice for the grandparents. Be sure to ask if there are any new babies to see in the nursery, the new babies are always amazing to look at.

They have so many animals to view and it's large enough to hold your interest without being overwhelming. The only small complaint I would have is that the birds have taken over and it can be a little "nasty" at times. Otherwise, we love to go and spend an afternoon.

We recently took our two boys to the San Antonio zoo. Everyone had a great time. We packed our lunch and took drinks. The zoo has expanded so much since the last time we were there. So much more to see and a new kids play area for the little ones - including a beach and outdoor toys. Prices are high on food/drink items - so be prepared by taking your own food and snack items for the kids. Their butterfly exhibit was destroyed in a recent storm, so they are in the process of rebuilding that area.

PROS: Wonderful atmosphere, new kids play area, lots of animals
CONS: Prices of food/drinks are outrageous. Take your food!

The San Antonio Zoo is a great place to take the family. There are so many animals that the kids get so excited and can't decide where to go first. The place is kept very neat and clean aside from a few smelly animals. There are plenty of tables and benches scattered throughout the facility so that you can take a break and have a snack or a drink. The workers all seam to enjoy their jobs and are very friendly to the visitors.

The San Antonio Zoo has a fairly new Toddler area that is GREAT!! The Tiny Tot Nature Spot has so much of fun stuff for your toddlers. They have numerous Animal Exibits, classes for ages 1-2 yrs and 3-4 yrs. Plus some group classes that start from newborn to age 4. The Tiny Tot Nature Spot has a great play area for the kids that include lots of pretend play and a wonderful tunnel exibit near the paririe dogs. Lots to do and the kids just love it! Playgroups can have a ton of fun here! Plus after playing you can see the rest of the zoo.

We have season passes for our family to this zoo. As far as zoos go, it is pretty good. The animals all see well cared for and happy. There is always a large variety of exhibits to see and many activities scheduled throught the day. My kids especially love the elephant exhibit. This year they had a bird section where you could actually feed the bird nectar and let them sit on you hands. There is a park conveniently located next to the zoo that is a great place for picnic lunches.

This is a fantastic zoo and is worth the drive from Austin. The cost is low and there are always printable coupons on the website. They have areas where you can feed the fish and a bird cage you can walk into and have a bird land on your shoulder. At certain times they bring some of the larger snakes out and you can pet them.

Make sure and come early. There's a lot to see.

The San Antonio day is a great way to spend a day with the family. They have quite a few animals to see. I would recommend going in the fall or spring though because it can be unbearably hot in the summer. They have some great fundraising events such as Zoo Boo around Hallowwen that is really fun to go too. The prices are ok but if you take the whole family it can be a little pricey.

Great place to take the kids. Would not recommend going in the middle of summer with the Texas heat. If you want to see all the animals, go when it is cooler. They tend to hide out in their cave if it's too hot. Great family fun at a great price!

PROS: Fun for the whole family, reasonable prices
CONS: Too hot in mid summer

The San Antonio Zoo is one of my favorites. The terrain has all been modified to put the animals in as close to a natural surrounding as possible. The bird sanctuary is a must see!

PROS: The Best
CONS: N/A

The San Antonio Zoo has been around for a long time, and they are making improvements all of the time. They have a huge variety of animals, and the park is beautiful. I would not recommend going in the summer, because of our Texas heat, but it is nice in the fall with the trees, and the breeze. The merry go round by the parking lot is great to get pictures of the kiddos on, and the price for admission is very affordable. There is plenty of parking too.

This is a really nice zoo to visit. It's not to spread out and there is a lot of different animals to see. My kids favorite part is the train that takes you around the outside of the zoo. This is a fun family day!

The San Antonio Zoo is only about an hour away from Austin, nestled in a quiet area of the city. The zoo is open 365 days a year, and has a carousel ride outside the zoo. There is alot of shade, and a huge variety of animals to see. The zoo is very clean, and the tickets are affordable.
