Wellstar Powder Springs Medical Center

The fact that I give Dr. Hewling & his office 5 stars is significant. I don't typically get along with doctors, as I tend to have different philosophies. Dr. Hewling is funny and easy to talk to, and not high-pressure at all when recommending something if you choose to decline it. The office staff and nurses are polite and friendly and wait times are typically not long.

Della is wonderful! She is very understanding and compassionate. Has restored my faith in the profession. I find it extremely hard to schedule an appointment as she is so popular. Wish there were more hours availible to see her. Cannot drive due to disabliity therefore must limit appointments to just Friday.when someone can bring me. Her follow through is incredible.

I have been a patient of Powder Springs Medical for over 10 years. I highly praise my normal doctors - Dr. McElhaney & Dr. Christa. Also, the staff (nurses, front desk, check-out) are world-class.

Since my regular doctors were away, I went to one of their nurse practitioners - Della Lertpenmaeta. Since every person I have met with have been fabulous I had faith in seeing her.

*I was wrong, I hate to say she has the most caustic bedside manner. Through the entire visit I felt uncomfortable and as if I were being judged rather than helped. She stated she was, 'a straight shooter' and if I did not want things told to me as is I needed to see someone else. Being honest is wonderful! But, not when it is presented as pre-judging and a bit smug*

Doctors/Nurses or any other profession where you have contact with a variety of people should always set their patients at ease and be able to help them rather than make them feel uneasy.

Overall, a office I will continue to go to for years, I just will never have another appointment with Della.

Therefore, my vote is holistic - I do not want to put the entire office into a bad category because of one bad apple. But, it does fall short of a perfect score because of my experience.

PROS: Great staff (front desk, nurses, check-out)
TOP notch care from McElhaney & Christa

CONS: A visit with Della Lertpenmaeta - I do not recommend her at all.

This a great facility. We have used Dr. Wizner for our family medical needs for over 12 years and couldn't be more pleased with the attention to detail and "bed side manner" of not only him but also his staff.

This is a wonderful facility...staff is courteous and friendly, in spite of the busy office! Have been a patient for 7 years...Dr. Christa is the best! Thanks for making my "visits" not quite so stressful!

Dr Wizner has been my doctor for 10 years. He is more than competent, listens intensely, and is very creative. Whether the problem is small or complex, he will handle it. The medical office is very busy but I have never felt rushed. I have also seen Drs Cornwell and Christa and the results are always the same. The staff is totally helpful and cheery.

I have been a patient at the Powder Springs Medical Center for the past several years. I have seen both Dr. Cornwell and Wizner. Both Physiciayns are consumate gentlemen and the office is very well run. I use Bluecross/BlueShield Insurance and I am very pleased that this office accepts it. I highly reccomend it! It is a part of the WellStar Physicians network
