I am a Classic Car Dealer who could go anywhere for tires and suspension related work. I have spent literally thousands of dollars at Tireman on tires for everything from 65 GTOs to Mercedes AMGs, and they continue to be my Tire Shop of choice. They are hardworking, reasonably priced, and most importantly, they are 100% honest. Besides that, where else can you go for tires and be in and out in less than 30 minutes? I have been going to Nolen and his dad for as long as they have been in business, even back on Lamar, and I have NEVER been disappointed in either their level of service or their prices. They are my first choice for tires in Austin. (I'm not sure what planet that other cranky lady was from, but that is just not how Tireman does business. No way, no how. I should know.)

I bought a set of 4 used tires here on Saturday 8/30/08. On Saturday night, I had a blowout in one of the tires. Luckily, I didn't have an accident. And also lucky that I remembered how to change a flat tire. Not something an older woman should have to do in the middle of the night. Obviously, they don't inspect the tires. I went back to the store and the guy at the front desk was very rude. Never apologized for my trouble or inconvenience. He told me "I just gave you a free tire." No, I bought the tire and it was defective! I asked if they give any kind of guarantee and was told no. Even the places that sell used tires on South Congress give you a 30-day guarantee! I was hoping for just a simple "sorry for your trouble ma'am." But all I got was attitude. Never going back there.

The kind of place that's hard to find these days in Austin. Run by a Father & son team. Nolan knows his stuff - I've had everything from brakes repaired to tires mounted. Prices are lower than the national chains, the work is good, done right and fast. And Nolan says he'll beat Sam's clubs tire prices.

PROS: Good work, honest people, low prices
CONS:
