We ordered 8k worth of hardwood and we wanted to install ourselves.

The manager "Mike" was the most rude and condescending person I have ever dealt with.

The sales people were even worse, they were angry because we had come in once to look and figure out what we wanted and when we came back in to purchase the same rude sales person was not there so we talked to a different person. From then on they would not talk to us, they completely ignored us, left us standing at a desk with a question and no one would help us.

Dealing with this company and their horrible employees was the worst experience we have ever had, in our 25 years of home improvement projects!!! I would not use great floors ever again if you paid me too!!!!

Oh to be a carpet sold by Great Floors. It's only been nine months since we met, but you already look like the running of the bulls took place right in my very own home. If you were a Christmas tree you'd be the one on the Charlie Brown

I need carpeting to sell my home. After reading reviews, I certainly will not patronize Carpet Exchange with the reputation of bad and dishonest practices as stated by your former customers. I will happily pay extra for good service and honest sales. Word to the wise... don't pay until the job is done to your satisfaction. If establishment can't agree, shake the dust off your feet and find one that does...

Purchased at Thornton, CO store in 2003. Went to store on Santa Fe Blvd. (close to my work) to see samples again, found lower prices. Salesperson evaded when questioned, directed me to Thornton for answer. Installers took 3 days to finish 1-day job; excuse was they had another home to do. Then I found something I use daily missing the last night. Complained in writing re price difference, late completion of job & stolen item (acknowledged lack of proof, but wasn't going to stay silent). Rcvd measly $50 discount. Carpet wasn't originally stretched correctly in master BR, bulged at edges. Thought we could push it down w/baseboard (done in 2006 -we're bad at remodeling!), but it worsened. I left message for install mgr. Took 2 weeks to return call. I explained we had carpets cleaned, which created bulging in office. He explained it would go back down after it dried, which it had by the time he called back. I also explained bulging in master BR, which had nothing to do w/carpet cleaning. Yes, it was under warranty he said. Since I didn't want the original thieves in my home, install mgr said he'd figure out how to work system & get back to me. 3 weeks later, no callback. Left another msg, rcvd call back 2 days later. He didn't remember discussion, said I was supposed to get a call from one of the installers (Steve), which I hadn't. Tried to remind him about our conversation; started w/carpet cleaning explanation, but he didn't let me finish, so he assumed problem was due to carpet cleaning. Then he yelled that it was not under warranty. I tried to finish reminding him what was discussed again, but wouldn't let me finish. He switched & said it wasn't taken care of b/c we didn't have invoice # - I called him out on why he said I'd rcvd a call from Steve. He said "I'm not Steve, I don't know why he didn't call you." Since he was belligerent & inconsistent, I said don't worry about it and hung up on him. I'd rather pay someone else to fix their mistake. This place is shady.

This place is just awful. My girlfriend and I were trying to match carpet from another room in our house to a newly created guest room. I went to Great Floors because it had taken over the old store that I had originally bought the other carpet at. I figured it wouldn't be too different in cost, I was WRONG! Thr bill for carpeting that room was $900 dollars. This was definately one of the greatest rip offs of my life. The only thing nice about the experience was the guy who installed it, he was very nice but I'm sure he was hardley seeing any of that 900 bucks. TERRIBLE!!!!!

We have used Carpet Exchange for many years until our last purchase for a home we were preparing for sale. We spoke with a sales person so that was the person we had to talk with when ever we had a question. The estimator quoted us what we thought was a higher price than the price we estimated in the show room. There was some talk about the quality of the pad that added to the cost. The sales person apologized for the confusion and assured us he would honor the first price and include the higher quality pad at no additional cost. When the installer came to the house it was obvious that the pad was of a less than steller thickness.
I speak spanish so I asked the installer about the pad and he told me he was instructed to bring the cheaper pad for the job. Again, the sales person was not available on the day of installation so we had to wait for his return to settle the question. Two days later the installer returned with the same pad. His helper showed up later with the better pad after a flurry of phone calls.
As it turned out we had been using Carpet Exchange under a different owner or management style. The name has been changed. It had, in the past, a niche for high quality products at good prices. The turn around was quick. Now it is like a Lowes or Home Depot kind of operation with a much larger selection. In my opinion it is full retail. As a full retail shop I don't think there is a problem, but for sure it is not a bargain.

Several years ago we used Carpet Exchange for our flooring in our kitchen. Fast forward to a new house that needed a tile floor. The salesman was friendly enough and so was the guy who came out to measure our room. But the estimate came in pretty high for a 270 sq foot room. I checked around and found a lower price, asked them if they match prices (because I really liked their installer). The salesman got cagey and then cold. He changed the price on one item and then practically said go buy it at Lowe's. So I am.
