For anyone who has gone through the process of trying to pick out the perfect engagement ring and matching wedding band you understand that this task can be daunting. It is unbelievable how many complements my wife gets on her rings; we had professional appraisers and other jewelers marvel over the quality and design.

My experience overall was very positive. I worked with Sarah Duprey and could not have been more helpful. At no time did I feel pressured or rushed. I started with a general idea, and Sarah helped me create a custom ring by showing me examples of various rings in the store. From there the process moved very quickly. I definitely recommend Windy City Diamonds. I purchased an engagement ring for my fiancee at this store a couple weeks ago. Garry, the owner, is extremely patient and honest. We custom built the ring together and I could not wait to show her the ring. The quality of the service and the final product is flawless.

I was referred to Windy City Diamonds by my cousins as I searched for an engagement ring for my girlfriend (now fiance!). I had been working with a few wholesale jewelers, and had done my research on diamonds and generally determined the setting I wanted. I had picked out an antique/art deco style for the setting, matching the tastes of my fiance. From the first phone call with Garry, WCD was exceptional. I gave Garry my general price range, the type of ring I wanted, and my timeframe. Garry picked out three amazing diamonds for me to choose from. Once the diamond was selected, I worked with Garry on the final design on the setting (WCD sent a few CAD drawings until it was exactly what I wanted). Just a few weeks later I had my ring - and my fiance loved it, exactly what she would have wanted if she had picked it out herself.

My experience with WCD was flawless. They immediately responded to all of my requests and questions, provided me with fantastic quality materials and diamonds, and took all the stress out of this purchase. I will absolutely be using WCD for my wedding rings and would recommend them to anyone and everyone!

I could not have had a better experience with Garry Zimmerman at Windy City Jewelers. When I first went in, Garry devoted about an hour of his time to teaching me about diamonds and what to look for and then showed me about 10 different diamonds from the seemingly very large inventory that they have. After my initial visit I was not ready to make the purchase yet, but at no point was there any sort of hard sell. When I returned several months later to make the purchase, Garry remembered what we had looked at before and showed me a bunch more diamonds. After finding a great diamond, we looked through numerous options for settings and together custom-designed the perfect ring. I am thrilled with the experience I had and my fiancee loves the ring. The customer service was incredible and the price was great (comparable to internet wholesalers). We will certainly be going to Garry for our wedding bands.

Garry Zimmerman deserves a special place in heaven as a reward for his kindness, expertise, sensitivity to customer needs, and completely pressure-free approach. He makes good on Windy City Diamonds?? commitment to absolute customer satisfaction: he spent a generous amount of time with us, asked thoughtful questions about what we did and didn??t want in a ring, and sketched an original design based on our responses. He sent computerized drawings a few days later, modified them exactly to our specifications, and created a stunning, entirely original ring which we both love. No strong-arming, up-selling, or bank-breaking: instead, a collaborative, highly knowledgeable professional, a completely personalized selection/creation process, and a dazzling end result. Happily ever after!

I created a Citysearch account just so I could write a review for Windy City Diamonds because I was so blown away by my experience there. These people are amazing, seriously.

I was referred to Keith, one of the owners, by a friend of mine who bought his engagement ring there. The first time I went there, Keith spent an hour explaining everything about diamonds to me and my girlfriend (and stayed, by the way, half an hour past closing). He not only explained the 4 Cs, but showed us how they worked in practice (for example, he would show us 4 stones that were exactly identical except for slightly different gradings in color, so we could see what kind of difference it made going, from, say a D color to a G color).

I by no means bought a very expensive ring, but I was never pressured, never made to feel like I should be buying something better, and the staff there ALWAYS made time for me. Their customer service is extraordinary.

I trusted them and was willing to even pay a slight premium because I felt like I was dealing with people I could trust, but somebody close to me did a LOT of shopping around on my behalf and we discovered that not only was I working with great people, but I got a really really great deal too.

Hands down, my experience was outstanding. The ring is absolutely beautiful. Oh, and let me also add that they make custom wedding bands. Keith's brother Garry drew up a beautiful example of what we wanted once we described it, and they have a computer program that shows you what the ring will look like once their designer has worked on it - it's really cool.

The ring is beautiful, and if I ever need to buy another diamond or refer somebody, this is the place, hands down. You will not be disappointed.

Komal was our salesperson and she was wonderful to work with! We had a custom ring made, that was what we had been looking for ! The workmanship on the ring by Windy City Diamonds, and the assistance in picking "our" stone with Komal was very direct and easy! We had been to quite a few jewelers, and had seen our fair share of diamonds. We felt overall that the quality and pricing was a good value. In the end, the ring is more beautiful than words can say!

Fantastic staff! Sarah was awesome! She spent 2 days with my husband as he tried to design a ring (God bless her). He ended up putting a beautiful diamond in a simple setting, and we got to go in together to design a one of a kind ring....after he surprised me! We have since gone back to get our wedding rings, an antique ring refurbished, and necklaces for all the bridesmaids. I even changed my mind on the design of the necklaces after they were made, and it wasn't a problem (even after they shipped them to me in Texas!) Beautiful diamonds/pearls etc., and the most knowlegeble staff I have ever encountered. Sarah always recognizes us when we walk in (w/o an appt)...even 6 months later! We are not jewelry experts by any means, but they are very patient with us and explain everything thouroghly. I never feel like I've been screwed over by price or product....very very fair. Obviously there is a reason they have been in business for so long. My husband and I have already decided that when we move away from Chicago, we will fly back to go see Sarah at Windy City for our jewelry needs. Best customer service I've ever had in any industy. Go see Sarah!!!

We will always have an awesome story to tell about our engagement ring experience because of you! We visited your store once and found the perfect ring in a case, but three months later my wife and I tried designing a custom. Komal worked with us very closely designing it, and when we went to meet with her, that same ring we saw earlier was still in the case- it was meant to be! My wife constantly gets compliments on it. We were on holidays to Chicago from Ireland, Windy City Jewellers was recommended through a friend. Made an appointment to see Garry to design my ring and went through details of what I wanted my engagement ring to look like, he was very patient and took all my ideas into consideration. Doing business With Windy City Diamonds has been a great experience and makes the drive from the suburbs worth the time and effort. After making a ring and a necklace from pictures on another company's ad, and then making them better at less cost than the advertised one, they couldn't have made me happier with their results. The salesperson I dealt with was extremely helpful, realistic, and no pressure. I'd recommend Windy City to anyone and have done so repeatedly among relatives and acquaintances. If you want a good deal on diamonds, don't want to deal with rude or pushy sales people, and want good results, call them. My wife has been extremely pleased with everything I've purchased from them.

We highly recommend Jim at WCD! He has given us excellent customer service and advice with a cherished estate piece. We had it sized and the shank widened. I didn't want the A-typical ring that you run across on the hands of every 10th person you see; I wanted a ring that said, "I WAS MADE ESPECIALLY FOR YOU" and that is what I got. Gary Zimmerman was able cojoin my fiance's budget and the vision in my head to become a reality upon my hand. Gary treated us as if our budget was limitless and designed a beautifullly handcrafted ring, of impeccable quality, personalized just for me. If any of you are like me you want to get that special someone a ring that she is going to love and treasure not just initially but for the rest of her life. I would assume that if you are reading this you are doing research and trying to find the best place, well look no further. I went straight to Gary and right off the bat he waited at least 45 minutes after closing to meet with me. He was professional and knowledgable, but more importantly NOT PUSHY! He asked me what I was looking for and asked my price range. Once he had that information he proceeded to bring out diamonds that fit my specifications and were within my price range. My fiance is more than thrilled with the ring as am I. Don't waste your time with jewelers that mark up their product so they can put out more ads and commercials or charge you more because the ring or ring box has nothing more than a name on it. My fiancee found a beautiful setting online. I have my grandmother's diamond, and it's a vintage cut, so we knew we'd need the setting custom made. We also tweaked it a bit from the original design. However, before getting it made, I wanted to try on a similar setting. It's very high, and I wanted to make sure it wouldn't snag or be uncomfortable. However, we couldn't find a single jeweler, in Chicago or in the suburbs, who carried anything like it! We tried everywhere we could think of, until my mother recommended Windy City Diamonds. She told us how great Garry is, and was she ever right! He spent a huge amount of time with us, and made us feel like we were the only people in the store. We showed him our pictures, at which he point he told us to wait, went into the back, and came out two minutes later holding our dream setting! He listened to all our ideas, and sketched out the changes exactly as we wanted them. (He's a great artist- take a look at the cabinet he painted with an underwater scene!) He even made a quick wax model for us to look at right there. Before the ring itself was made, he emailed us a beautiful rendering so we could do a final approval. Not only is Garry a great guy running a fabulous store, he had exactly what we wanted when nobody else did!

When beginning my search for the perfect diamond and setting for an engagement ring, I looked at several Jeweler's Row stores and highly recommended suburban jewelry boutiques before coming across Windy City Diamonds. The difference between Windy City and the other stores was immediately apparent to me the moment I called to set up an appointment and spoke with Komal. Whereas other jewelers were hesitant or unable to gather together a large selection of loose diamonds for viewing, within just two days, Komal was able to show me several that I found on their website's inventory and even brought out a few more based on my size, cut, and clarity preferences. Additionally, she was never pushy (unlike other stores I visited) and was happy to help me narrow down exactly what I was looking for without trying to sell me on a more expensive diamond.

After my initial visit, I did more homework and looked at diamonds listed on other Jeweler's Row stores' websites. To my surprise, Komal was able to quickly bring these in for me to view, and she even surprised me with a couple of additional ones (matching my specifications) that weren't shown on any of the websites.

Throughout the whole diamond selection and ring design process Komal was tremendously patient with me and never tried to hurry me into a purchase. Admittedly, I'm a perfectionist, and I took a very long time to choose a diamond (including repeated viewings of the same two or three). However, Komal never grew frustrated with me (though I certainly would have!) and remained dedicated to helping me find the perfect diamond and build the perfect ring for my fiancee. To top it off, when I finally did "pull the trigger," Komal was able to work out a very reasonable price for me. Komal and the rest of the very friendly staff at Windy City made an otherwise stressful process an enjoyable one, and my fiancee was thrilled with the quality of the ring!
