5 Stars: Really Enjoy The Food!! (by by rita pars at Citysearch)

I enjoy their food here. Lots of mouth watering flavor and I like the super fast way they get the food out to you, without feeling hurried. More accurately, I think I should say that the food comes out in successions, at the perfect timing.

4 Stars: Good enough for a basecamp (by by Eastern Traveler at Citysearch)

So I won a couple of free nights at the Excalibur, and it was certainly worth every penny.
I spent most of my time going up and down the strip and seeing all the things there is to see in vegas. Vegas is mostly a place where you one go to your room for a sleep and a shower, and the room I had fulfilled that need just fine.

5 Stars: Incredible stay for the price!! (by by SMarbury at Citysearch)

We choose this hotel over MGM primarily for price. Imagine our surprise when our friends staying at the MGM had nothing but complaints, and we were happy as clams at the Excalibur! The room was clean and quiet - we were placed close to our friends without having asked ahead of time. They had a wonderful family pool seperate from the 'adult' pool. After hearing about police, hookers and vomit at the MGM in the room halls we were so relieved to have booked here. The people were wonderful and were had a great stay!

5 Stars: It was perfect place to get some shut eye (by by CGair at Citysearch)

I spend a night in Vegas and given the nature of my stay doing all things Vegas in a short space of time I decided on Excalibur. It was perfect place to get some shut eye at a very reasonalble rate. Being upgraded to a delux suite also endeared me even more to the hotel. I think it ideally located on the strip for it was one walk in one direction taking in some of the more swankier Hotels like the Bellagio and Ceaser Palace. Lotsa of places to eat from and lotsa slot machines. Very busy on the game floor, conveniance and a play area for children all in good value for money if that is what you looking for. Service wasn't bad either given the amount of people the hotel services

5 Stars: Went for valentines weekend. (by by Vivvy23 at Citysearch)

Went for valentines weekend. Pricing on the room was super cheap. We though because of the pricing that we'd get what we paid for....that was not the case. The room was super clean, view was nice, check in and check out was quick, and service was good too. I'd definitely recommend it for someone who's trying to stay at a great hotel (on the strip) without spending a fortune!

5 Stars: Clean tidy room with good service. (by by GraceC260 at Citysearch)

Clean tidy room with good service. I would recommend this place, the accomodation was, on the whole, good, with great links (Monorail) to Luxor & Mandalay Bay and overpass foot bridges to New York, MGM & Tropicana. Decent buffet at an excellent price, something for everyone.

5 Stars: Great stay - Nice, clean and spacious room. (by by Julie Nelson 259 at Citysearch)

Great stay- Nice, clean and spacious room. Good with a security guard by the tower entering the elevator to the rooms so no unauthorized person got access to the rooms. Close to the airport, we took a shuttle and paid 6.50 usd, a taxi is about 15 usd to if you are a few travelling, a taxi will be easier. The pool area was great, 4 or 5 differend pools. We only stayed for 3 days, I wish we had the timeto stay longer, but I will definitly come back to Vegas, its a crazy but fun town!

5 Stars: Fantastic (by by JosyLovesIt at Citysearch)

I thought this hotel was fantastic, I liked it so much I actually spent most of time there because there was so much to do. When, your in Vegas you usually dont spend lots of time in the room, so the room didn't matter too much. However, it was a great room!!! I don't know why so many people say how bad it is...it's great!!! I highly recommend it. Pools, restaurants, entertainment was all superb in my book!!!! Plus, the prices are reasonable if you're on a budget!!! A+ in my book! - Katie

5 Stars: VERY CLEAN AND LARGE ROOM (by by fransisca at Citysearch)

Just returned from Vegas, we stayed for 2 weeks in the Excalibur, I was very surprised by our room in Tower 1 floor 22 great views, clean large room. Very soft comfortable beds, good maid service every day. We took our 4 yr old she had a blast, loads to do and see, although the casino was smocky compared to the other casinos.Tried the buffet, it was good, the food court has plenty of variety, timeshares a bit of a pain but just walk past them, no real problem.
We would return to this hotel.

5 Stars: Superior Hotel (by by naomiC at Citysearch)

this was our secodn trip to Vegas, and the Excalibur hotel was far superior to other 3 star hotels we have stayed in. Fantastic location, we were able to walk to everything that we wanted to see. Buffet is great value. The Sponge Bob ride was a great hit with my 5 year old. rooms were clean and tidy and did not smell of smoke at all (we were in non smoking rooms, but other members of our party had smoking rooms and even these didn't have strong smoke smell) the beds and pilows were comfy.

5 Stars: This hotel has been one of my favorites since I was a child (by by blakehamed at Citysearch)

This hotel has been one of my favorites since I was a child. On my most recent trip, housekeeping and maintenance were quick when we needed something, though we did find a stain on the side of the bed, which was barbecue sauce, because we also found the package which housekeeping missed when they cleaned before we checked into the room. Another bad thing was that we could only have a room with two double beds instead of a room with a king bed for my partner and I, which was a little inconvenient. Other than that, the hotel is nice and I would recommend it to anyone staying in Las Vegas.

Friendly servers and happy people and the atmosphere is exciting. We were also married in their chapel-which was a fairytale setting. We truly were a Prince and Princess in our Castle.

It was an unforgettable experience. There was a long line to check in, but the luggage handler took us to a desk where we could get help right away. It only took a few minutes and we were taken to our room, avoiding the long wait. Our room was beautiful, and room service was just fantastic. The food service and prices were truly within budget, giving us even more money to shop and visit the casino. It is an excellent place, for family vacations, weddings, honeymoons, and business. The list is endless.

5 Stars: what I like the best is the service (by by allieivrin at Citysearch)

My husband and I have stayed at Excalbur 7 years straight. The location is one of the best. But, what I like the best is the service and everyone is the staff is very friendly. They all act like they have know you forever and are there to please. Registration to check out, and everything in between is easy and fast. Order a few drinks and the waitress comes by and says "want another" and names the drink you just had. It's like home away from home "with slots" so better. Anything you need is there but best is rates are very reasonable. We took our friends on one trip and she left her purse on the cab from the airport. Imagine arriving and your money gone. Excalibur's employee got the description of the cab we arrived in. By that he knew which of several companies we may have used and HE called them all. Less than 1 hour she had her purse and All the money was still in it. What more can I say?

5 Stars: Offers several fun and interesting options (by by VEGASBABY at Citysearch)

The Excalibur offers several fun and interesting options. Rooms in the towers over look other hotels and the ongoing vibrant life of Las Vegas. The location is close to main highways and several other hotel resorts and casinos, such as MGM Grand, Tropicana, New York New York and direct access to the Luxor. It has the gambling rooms and dinner shows people expect in Las Vegas as well as the ever popular Keno and Bingo. The food served is always good and the dinner show was more fun than just seeing someone standing around singing and telling jokes. Service is excellent and the rooms were clean and had excellent views. Our room overlooked New York New York with its theme of the big city. In the background were the beautiful mountains of the surrounding landscape. Excalibur has fun, food, location, and whatever the Vegas visitor may need for a great vacation

Excalibur is one of the best values on the strip. If you are looking for a clean place to lay your head this is it!!! The casino is a little old but the rooms are clean, comfortable and have a nice amount of space. They have a buffet for $25 all day, nothing fancy but the food is good and has many choices. Everyone I encountered in the hotel was friendly and helpful. They have security posted by the elevators at night & security does floor checks several times a night. They also have a food court & several stores upstairs. I go to Vegas at least once a year and Excalibur is a great value for your money!!!

5 Stars: Wouldnt hesitate to stay again (by by Missouri guest at Citysearch)

Well "old" by Vegas standards. We stayed at the Excalibur for 2 nights at the end of 6 weeks in the US in Sept 2010. A room rate of $28 a night was enough to attract us, and a complimentary upgrade to their Widescreen TV rooms was appreciated. The rooms are spacious and have been refurbished in the last couple of years. Perfectly adequate! The hotel itself is a bit dated, but it really does pack a lot into the premises. A plethora of food choices including fast food (Quiznos, Maccas etc etc etc) , an adequate buffet (no more no less...but at $24.95 a day for all you can eat it is great value), a couple of upper end restaurants, bars, sports lounges, good pool area (even for kids), and a top location on the corner of Tropicana and the Strip and the Excalibur exceeded expectations. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, especially if you can get a ripping price.

I was a bit worried due to some not too good reviews I read, but we stayed in tower 1, which hadn't been refurbished, and I had absolutely no problems with the decor, bed, etc. We had a bit of an issue with the internet, but within 10 mins of us making a call maintenance had come and fixed it. But speaking of the bed, OMG it was sooo comfy. Good room size, good service. The only thing I didn't like, which I'd probably get anywhere in vegas is that my 15 yr old son wasn't free to walk from our room to the food hall or children's games room due to having to go through the casino.

My partner and I stayed in the Excalibur hotel for a week and thought it was lovely. It was her 21st birthday and we decided to spend more money on doing things whilst in Vegas rather than a posh hotel. This place was perfect for us! It was relatively cheap and the rooms were very nice and clean. Its not the most spectacular hotel on the strip but its still pretty amazing to someone who had never been to Vegas before. The casino floor is great and all the staff are really friendly. The buffet was brilliant! I have never eaten so much food in my life but I couldn't stop myself returning for another plateful or two every day. We did eat at other places but for the money you pay its great. It is down the end of the strip and so prepare yourself for a lot of walking if you venture out. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good holiday in Vegas. If you want good value and a nice place to stay then this is the place for you!

I was upgraded to a wide screen room free and had a beautiful view of the pools. The casino was fun and treated us great, the room was comfy and we were just really impressed. The price could not be bet even with the resort fees of $10 a day, which was still a great deal because the room for 3 nights was about $150, with all the fees, and one of those nights was a Friday. I will definately be returning to Excalibur again, and highly recommend the hotel and casino's to all my friends!!!!

After a long drive from LA we arrived to be greeted by friendly valet parkers who heloed with the luggage. Check In was a breeze and we received a free uprade to a Deluxe room because we were staying for 4 nights. We had a great view of The Strip from the 15th floor, lovely large clean and airy room, with a spotless huge bathroom.
Only draw back with the rooms was the fact that there were no tea/coffee making facilites but that is obviuosly to get you to spend in the onsite Starbucks and hotel coffee bars.
Pool areas were great, one pool is over 18s only, one has a slide for the kids, 1 has a hot tub and the other is 'just' a pool.
For kids the basement is a ""Childrens Casino"" and 3 4D rides including Spongebob.

1 Stars: Regrets, Rip offs, & Rude!!!!!!! (by Mr T.)

We arrived at the Excaliber Casino and Cesspool on 7/27/10 and headed for our room in tower 2, hallways were absolutely filthy and when we opened our door we were greeted with a very bad odor. I called Housekeeping to see if they could bring some deodorizer up to our room, while on the phone my wife noticed a 2ft diameter wet spot in the middle of the room. When housekeeping arrived he informed us he thought the room had been steam cleaned earlier in the day.....ok if thats your story then you may want to make it more believable! I ended up calling the front desk and was put on hold for over 30min and was told 2 different times by 2 different people they were getting the manager but by then I was so fustrated I went down to the front desk and confronted the Manager who was not even aware there was a problem with the room, she ended up moving us to a different room facing the strip. The Linen on the bed was not changed until day 6 when we ripped the sheets off the bed and told the maid they needed to be changed. The hotel staff was very unprofessional and rude, The walk down the strip was even worse with the native men, women, boys, and even girls clearly showing how gambling and drinking improved their lives to the point where they were handing out porn flyers to EVERYONE on the strip). I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME UNDERSTAND WHY YOU WOULD EVEN BRING CHILDREN INTO SUCH A NASTY ENVIRONMENT! Las Vegas is NOT for kids!!!!! We visited Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Great Basin, San Francisco, Yosemite, and The Grand Canyon. We did learn our lesson on one thing...Never stay at Excaliber or Las Vegas for that matter, get a hotel outside of strip area. And best place to eat is Teriyaki Madness, Panera Bread and Outback. Worst trip we ever had and we won't go back to vegas.I see now why say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas because they don't want people to know how bad a place and enviroment it really is!!!! And I would not choose this sewer to take my bride to on our honeymoon or anniversary. Stay for yourself and regret it! or read all the reviews and complaints and you will not want to drop a dime in this town! And the resort fees are ridiculous and a rip off, place will nickel and dime you to death. Better start listening to your guests or watch them go elsewhere, like the old saying goes "ignore us, we'll go away".

1 Stars: legally mugged. (by john e.)

Just got home from the excalibur 6/29/10. rooms are affortable, but the staff needs help. There was throw up in the elevator for 2 days and no one had cleaned it. 2nd floor food stores way too expensive. They also caherge everyone "resort fees" in a hotel. This is for internet and faxing etc. I am on vacation what do I need faxing for. This charge is 9.99 a night. They fee you to death and not to mention the slots do not pay out. I mean come on I spent 1k in the slots and maybe got a couple of cherries or it kicks back 5 credit here and there. I know the economy is bad but come on, no bells ringing just a whole bunch of people saying the same thing did you win anything. You leave feeling ripped off. Do not think I will ever return. Oh by the way get rid of the time share reps that hound you over and over. Every one has a hand in your pocket. Cigaretts are 10 bucks a pack, almost ten bucks for 6 doughnuts, 3 buck cup of reg black coffee, get my drift. Oh this remark is for vegas in whole. we took our 15 yr old daughter and on each corner you are flooded with these people handing flyers advertising pornograhy and the have pictures of naked woman. Clean up the streets and maybe people would feel safer. I am with my family and i am being asked if i need sex or want to call some one for a good time. Is this legal?

2 Stars: Worst Experience Ever! (by Jesus P.)

My husband and I just got back home from Vegas, as you can imagine we stay at your hotel from April 13-18; Our stay was very unpleasant to start housekeeping of the room was really bad....For example on our first day my husband got some chocolate on one of the pillows, to our surprised it was still there on our last day. The floor was never clean (tile and carpet); furthermore, the hallway was so dirty, we actually saw the same garbage for days, we complaint to Management and spoke to Ms. Molly Merritt, Assistant Hotel Manager, which she promised to take care of it, but to no avail the garbage remain there the entire week, very unacceptable and unsanitary. to add insult to injury the service in the casino was terrible, the cocktail waitresses are never around and if by luck one comes around they act like if they are doing you a favor, very rude and arrogant; and once the order was placed it would take them for ever to bring the drinks. Finally, my slot machine malfunctioned and literally it took 45 minutes to get service and to my luck I could not walk away, i had $300.00 in credit in the machine. We won't recommend this hotel to our friends and will make sure that they get our version. We are planning a future trip to Vegas and definitive will look somewhere else. Management needs to do a better job all around the hotel

1 Stars: my week in LAS VEGAS (by mike k.)

BY MIKE KEMENA I been to Vegas many times in the past . I loved them all . I never won i all ways lost but still loved it .I have not been there for over 6 years and i returned this month .this was the worst time in VEGAS , I ever had .In the past i got lot of play took all day and night to lose $500 to $1000 .there was a nice friendly girl all ways around asking if i wanted a drink .I liked putting the coins in and pulling the arm . I loved the coin drop coming out when i cashed out .this trip was bad from the day i got there .first of all you put me on the 13TH floor .i never herd of the 13Th floor in the USA till that day they go from the 12Th to the 14Th NO 13TH ! I COMPLAINED about getting that floor and the girl gave me my key cards and called the next in line not and did not understand a work i said .now you got old not happy women getting drinks (they can not even smile ) i sat playing for over 30 min more then 1 time also in the MGM with out seeing one girl going around asking if i wanted a drink . 2 time i had to go find one and call her over .last day there it was over 30 min with out seeing one and i called one over she took our orders me ,my wife and 5 others after a long time i seen her going past and i stopped her and asked where our drinks where .she said she cam back and no one wanted there drinks .a man down from me called her a liar and cashed out and mad his wife do the same and they left . she retook my order and my wife's order and was not happy with us at all .she left and other people where yelling at her ( what about us ?) she looked back and left .others cashed out and left all but 4 me my wife a guy behind me and a girl down from me . when she returned with our drinks she tried to give us drinks we did not order and got more upset with us .the guy behind me asked if he could get one and she just sat the drinks down she had and said we asked for and left .at that time you lost us 4 also we all stopped gambling and left .most of your arms at the slots do not work or not work right . few times they took the money and never spun. VEGAS got so cheep they cut so many jobs that i do not think i will ever return .you cut jobs by taking the coin slots out and only take cash now . you fixed them trying to force people to just hit a button so you take the money faster . to drop a coin and pull the arm takes to long to suck them dry .i never lost anywhere anytime like i lost there and MGM in my life with out play back at all .at the LU XOR i try one slot it would not take any money it was broke i waked around tried another same thing , walked some more tried another same i left never playing 1 time . QUESTION : was my bad time in Vegas because you put me on the 13 floor or was just the worst week of my life ?

5 Stars: Took My Breath Away! (by Denise C.)

My husband and I got married at the Canterbury Wedding Chapel in 2004.
I really wanted to be married close to home but he was set on Vegas.

I thought it would be very difficult to plan a wedding seeing as we live in Maryland but it could not have been easier!!! The hardest part was deciding what chapel to chose. Once I did, the staff at the Canterbury Wedding Chapel were awesome.
They were very organized, listened to all my concerns and helped me plan a memorable event.

We were married in the large chapel and it is very beautiful. Although our guest list was rather small, our ceremony was very romantic and gorgeous! Our photos even turned out better than I could have ever imagined!!
If I was to get married in Vegas again, I would certainly go back.

Several months after we were married, I received a phone call asking about the wedding. It was so nice that they followed up to make sure the day was everything I wanted it to be.

1 Stars: What happen with the big white box!!! (by Maria H.)

This is the third time that we have stayed at the Excalibur hotel in less than one year, and we have never had a problem. This last time we stayed on October the 15th. for a wedding at the Excalibur chapel, which we had recommended to our friends.

We checked in Wednesday 15th. at 2:00 p.m, attended the wedding at 5:00pm, had dinner and came back to our room. On Thursday the 16th. we got ready to leave packing everything in a rush because we were getting close to check out time. We left the room at 10:40am and got to check out by 11:00am. Unfortunately during our rush we forgot a big white box with a pair of black boots and one pair of nice leather shoes that we actually bought one day before for the wedding. Even more unfortunate was that we did not notice until we got back home Sunday morning and unpacked the car.

We called the hotel, checked with lost and found and housekeeping several times and then we filed a report with security. During our conversations we were told that the lost items were not the hotels responsibility and most employees have worked there for a long time so it wasnt like someone would get fired over this (Which we thought was a strange thing to say). Honestly we just want our shoes back, they were expensive, we liked them and we just bought them. We werent looking for someone to get in trouble, we just wanted our shoes back.

The only person that could have been there after we left was the housekeeper and they missed a large white box? That is unbelievable. We can't believe that they couldn't find a big white box and then we hear such strange things as denials of responsibility and statements regarding people not getting in trouble? Doesnt the hotel have cameras in these hallways? Is this just self-protection or does the hotel not want to believe that employees can steal?

3 Stars: Great value - but a lack of maintenance of the years has taken its toll (by by Squid42 at Citysearch)

I've stayed at the Excalibur numerous times over the last 10 years. I typically use the Excalibur when going to dealer shows in Vegas because it is fairly inexpensive and when I am by myself I don't mind not having a plush room. The rooms are fairly basic, but since the recent remodel they have become much better in terms of comfort. The colors are pretty bland though. I like the medieval theme, but it seems to be getting lost somewhat over the years (the giant purple dragons are gone, the moat at the front entrance stays empty, the actors that use to greet you at the entrance are gone, and Merlin's charecter has been replaced) . Several of the big screen TV's that display hotel advertisements are broken. The game room in the lower level is very run down with many of the games not working. Public restrooms are also in need of a re-vamp. It seems like a general lack of maintenance is to blame. The good: The casino is a fun place to be usually with lots of action. The cocktail waitresses are friendly, but too few and far between. The wine and mixed drinks are not as good as other hotels, but are ok. They update the slots on a regular basis and keep things fresh. Watch out in the winter months though because the slots around Tower 1 and Tower 2 entrances are like being in a cold wind tunnel with the breeze that gusts in each time the doors open. Camelot Steakhouse is one of the best Steak houses and is a must to go to, and Tournament of Kings is a very entertaining show ($50 for a show and dinner ? hard to beat that). Regalle is pretty good as well, but not considered a favorite. Another good point of this hotel is the cost to stay here, and easy access to the Strip. Several years back I would have given this hotel a good 4 star rating, but with the disrepair of things I can only give it 3 stars now. Added note: I saw where another reviewer complained about food trays sitting in the hallway for two days - I have seen this too and called the desk.

3 Stars: Renovated Rooms are GREAT but the Staff is HORRIBLE (by Martha R.)

Here's a copy of my complaint to them:

I was a guest at the Excalibur Hotel February 19-23rd. The first few days were for business and the remainder was a short vacation.

Check-in went smoothly; because I had back-to-back reservations, I was told to check with Registration on the morning of the 21st to have my keys reset. That morning, I brought down the keys and my Corporate MC to complete the process. When I tried to do this, Annie informed me that this was not necessary and sent me on my way. However, when I went back upstairs and could not get into my room.

Next, I went downstairs and explained my situation to Josie. Josie asked me if I had my ID which I did not have on me. However, I did have my Corporate MC that was on the first reservation and two other credit cards with my name on them. I asked if I could verbally verify any of my information or have someone escort me to my room so I could present my ID.

At this point, Josie called one of the managers (Mary) over. By far, Mary was one of the most rude, obstinate individuals I have encountered in a customer service capacity. Her tone was extremely accusatory and treated me as if I was trying to slip something by her. She asked me for my signature and then loudly informed me that it did not match. I was in tears at this point. Finally, she gave me my keys. No one apologized or even cracked a smile during the morning of the 21st. It was as if I was the enemy.

I understand how challenging the hospitality industry is. After waiting tables throughout college, I worked at the front desk of a four star 1,122 convention hotel for a little over a year. I am not one of those guests who complain in an attempt to get something for nothing. In fact, all I ask is that upper management within this organization revisit their service training program.

5 Stars: Family night (by shannon b.)

This is one of the hotels that had a great family show. We went to the Tournament of the Kings show with our daughter. We had a nice dinner while watching the show. It wasnt too long so my daughter was captivated. The price was okay. You cant really expect to find a cheap show in Vegas but this one was worth every penny.

3 Stars: Not a big fan of the hotel (by by rg1972 at Citysearch)

If I'm staying somewhere in Vegas it won't be this place. I can see where it would be good for families, but your better off staying next door at the Luxor. I stay here for a few hours on my last nigt in Vegas because the room was cheap and didn't need to do anything but walk next door from the Luxor where I stayed the first four nights of my most recent trip and I don't even think my bags liked staying in the room, lol. Like I said would be a good place for a family with its free puppet shows and goofy decor

2 Stars: You can get some value-priced rooms here, but you get what you pay for (by by sione at Citysearch)

This isn't one of the nicer hotels located on the strip. I'm not really fond of the rooms, which were decent, but not that nice. The casino below was ok, but overall, this isn't one of the nicest experiences. I also suffered from a lot of construction related noise and vibration in the room, but at least it was during the day so it was more tolerable. If you can get a good price, it's worth it, but otherwise, look elsewhere.

1 Stars: TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! RUDE STAFF! (by by cateyes_1313 at Citysearch)

This stay was a special event "First Time to Vegas, 50th Birthday party". However, I was NOT notified of any renovation to the building UNTIL I arrived. I was assured that I would not be disturbed, however, I could switch rooms. At SIX AM the next morning, I learned that the renovation was directly above us. My guest and I played "NAME THAT POWER TOOL" until nine in the morning. I called to switch rooms for the next evening as there was no way we could sleep through this racket again. I was told there were no rooms available! After requesting a manager I was eventually moved fifth floor, same tower. No comps were offered nor apologies rendered for this inconvenience, I demanded a discount (hardly worth the headache) off the first night in the room. I had a delivery ordered to the room. It did not shown up as requested upon our arrival (confirmed by staff). I made the trip downstairs to investigate. I spotted the gift, a $100 custom cookie basket, cookiesbydesign. com, behind the desk FULLY IN TACT. I spoke to the person at the desk and said I would like to receive it myself in person as they did not deliver upstairs as promised. She refused & rudely said, "We can't just give stuff out you know!? I requested the delivery brought up. The cookie basket arrived upstairs promptly with two of the items broken in half! I was horrified! This was supposed to be a present, now broken in shambles due to careless staff! Again, my complaint was brushed off by a manager on staff explaining to me that "There was NO WAY to KNOW whether or not this package was in this state upon delivery." *SHOCK* I had just been closer then five feet to the item five minutes earlier! On a final note, room service trays were left in the halls for two days with leftover meat on the trays beginning to STINK on MULTIPLE FLOORS!!! This is unsanitary and outrageous! AVOID! In my opinion most smoky/dirty casino in VEGAS!

2 Stars: Never back (by by babashura at Citysearch)

This was a nightmare. Huge place. We were promised a room with king size bed instead we were sent to the very last room in the end of the hallway across from housekeeping room with two queens. The room was dark - the light from the lamps was not enough even to read the map. Construction started about 730 am the following day beneath our window and I regretted that I had that free drink in the casino. Another surprise was in the bathroom - every time anyone flushed a toilet in the tower you could hear it in your room, imagine how many times you can hear it in the morning when you are trying to sleep!!!! There was no tub - even though there was enough space for it. The shower was al least 60 inches long - that was odd. Plus!!!! The smell of smoke following you everywhere - your clothes are soaked with this terrible smell when you come back to the room from the lobby. Not to mention an army of "real estate agent" who are jumping on you from every corner trying to trick you to by non-sense timeshare promising free vacations and tickets. People, even if you will stay there because it's cheap - don't let them offer you any free stuff - you are about to face the most shameful day of your life. DON"T DO IT. It'S NOT WORTH IT.

I've never stayed at this hotel for a reason. You know that feeling you get when you walk into a place and you can tell whether it's going to be a good place you'll enjoy or you'd take a room if they gave it to you for free. Yeah this is one of those places I'd recommend for a free room. There's way too many kids at this one if you're a couple just trying for the romantic get-a-away. The outside is the best thing about it and that's how you should enjoy it, just passing by outside. No major attraction here, not the best looking interior - plus it smells old to me.

4 Stars: Not so good, but stay if you get a good price (by by newguysfo at Citysearch)

Well, I paid a pretty penny to stay here on a fully booked convention week. While waiting on line there's a fairly permanent sign to inform guests " As of 2003 there will be a $1 surcharge for use of telephone" What does that tell you about any customer serviced you may receive?
They say in the ad, "this is a magical castle." I say any resemblance to a castle ends as you get closer to the door. It only looks like a castle from the outside. The theme doesn't carry through.

Never stay here. They have horrible customer service. I got bed bites the first night, hotel claimed it was "the sheets". Doctor says it was not the sheets or detergent. GROSS!!! They were jerks, I was so grossed about by every aspect of that hotel. The people that work there are horrible. I was made to stay up till midnight well they "cleaned" my sheets. Never changed our room after I was bitten over 30 times on my one arm from the bed. So gross. I will never stay there. Everyone I talk to I tell them never to stay there either. I hate this place. Don't go!!!!!!

2 Stars: You get what you pay for...not a shilling more. (by by jdinsf at Citysearch)

Must say I'm shocked that the Ex rates as high as it does on City Search. Maybe I'm super-new to this cite, but I figured the ratings were supposed to reflect a comparison of like establishments. If that's the case and I'm comparing the Ex to other Vegas hotels, I have to give it a below-average rating. The service is nothing to write home about. People are friendly, but no one goes out of their way. Rooms are very, very basic. I agree that the cooridors are dark and although the room was clean, it was dated and worn. Casino is slot heaven, intermittent drink service and smoooookkkky. Pool is nothing special, crowded with kids and closes early. Bright spot is the Enchanted Forrest Bar where you can play 25 cent video poker and enjoy promptly served, comped libations.

That said: If you're on a budget in Vegas, it's not the worst choice. The Ex is normally priced close to the Trop. The Trop is significantly more dated, more dingy and even poorer service. Nicer pool though. The room will do to crash after one too-many martinis. I suspect this is an excellent choice for twenty-somethings low on cash, or for people that don't really care to splurge on luxary. Location is good. If you can, spend the $20 more a night and uprade to Bally's or Flamingo. A MUCH nicer place for a little bit more money.

Bottom Line: If your expectations are in check, the Ex will do just fine.

2 Stars: A Casino for Kids??? (by Candice C.)

The parking situation at Excalibur is terrible. They have valet parking, but it takes FOREVER for them to retrieve your car. The spaces in the self-park area are way too small and quite a hike from the casino/hotel.

The restaurants are all right. The Roundtable Buffet is decent, although there wasn't a huge assortment of food. There's a McDonald's located inside the casino on the second floor, which is convenient and inexpensive.

There were too many children running around, including in the casino. The rooms were all right, but nothing spectacular. The casino has a good variety of games, but you can find the same (if not better) elsewhere.

PROS: Convenient; Looks pretty neat; clean rooms
CONS: Staff rather unfriendly and unaccommodating; too many kids around

The Excalibur Hotel and Casino is located near the end of the Vegas strip, right along with other large hotels and casinos. They have Merlin out front, tons of rooms, and a kids dreamland downstairs. There is a jousting tournament and kings feast dinner show, carnival and boardwalk style games, and you can always find cheap hotel rooms on booking sites.

My boyfriend and I just got back from Vegas last week and we stayed at the Excalibur during the first half of our vacation (the second half was at the Hyatt in Henderson. I was at a conference). I was very itchy from the harsh detergents used in the bed linens. Hopefully, that means they were clean. We ate at their italian restaurant, Regale. Very excepectional food and service. The service at the Sherwood Forest Cafe, however was barely tolerable. The rooms have extremely bleak decorations. Only a few stations available on the television. Excellent location. I liked the casino, I didn't lose any money there (so that could be why). There was a weird smell in the room. Bring air freshner!! The pillows aren't great either, so bring an extra one if you require fluffy pillows. We were on a non-smoking floor, but it was still very smokey.

The bottom floor is a huge arcade for the kids, and there is a jousting tournament that the whole family can enjoy. The pool is very nice and there is a nice hot tub outside as well. Excalibur offers a very nice spa for customers. Upon check-in you are given free coupons for a free visit to the spa; which has an indoor hot tub/steam room/health club. Very nice. However, Excalibur is located FAR FAR away from many of the new or oldies but goodies atttactions. Prepare your feet for some major walking.

3 Stars: It okay (by Kitty W.)

One of the only good things about this hotel is that it is cheap. The room we stayed in was pretty clean, it wasn't at all luxurious, unlike some of the other hotels on The Strip. I think this is a good family hotel (how ironic because it is Vegas). The hotel is definitely pretty old. I don't know if I want to come back again.

I stayed at the excalibur hotel twice. both times it was just what we needed, a place to sleep. When you go to vegas you pretty much only use your room to sleep and that is what i did used my room to sleep. we gambled most of the time. I did like their midevil knights dinner and show they have it is entertaining.

4 Stars: Nice hotel (by Nick D.)

I stayed at this hotel the very first time I went to Vegas and I thought it was very nice. The rooms are clean, the pools are nice and the casino is big. I really like the fact that there are a lot of meal options upstairs in the food court, even if you are just looking for a quick snack. If you are on a budget but looking to stay at one of the larger strip hotels, I would recommend checking out the Excalibur.

PROS: Clean, inexpensive and fun.

4 Stars: Great deal (by JENNIFER F.)

Who actually spends a lot of time in their hotel room in Vegas anyway?!

We have always stayed at the Excalibur whenever going to Vegas. We are budget concious people who don't mind saving money. Granted, the Excalibur is not the nicest or most luxurious hotel on the strip, but it's definitely better than Motel 6 and it's a safe place for a good night's sleep.

It is family friendly- an entire level for kids, lots of different restaurants, and spacious rooms.

On our last trip, I booked the rooms online. I checked 2 days before our trip and the prices went down. After a quick phone call to customer service, they were happy to lower my rate to the updated price. Excellent!

I have no problem staying at the Excalibur! They have always done a good job for us when it comes to staying in Vegas!

3 Stars: Good for a family (by T. N.)

Excalibur Hotel and Casino is a good place for a family on vacation in Las Vegas. They have a lot of themed events that make visiting fun for a child. The arcade and game room is the perfect stop for the little ones. Although, there did seem like there were a lot of problems with the skee ball machines. The rooms at Excalibur were standard rooms, two queen sized beds, a small bathroom, adequate dresser and closet space. The location is good, somewhat near the middle of the strip. Staff was accommodating and friendly.

4 Stars: Excalibur (by Maria S.)

We love the location of the Excalibur. Its on the end of the strip which to us is great because we like start at the end of the strip and work our way to see the entire strip on one side and cross the street to do the other side of the strip.
The rooms do need to be redone because they look outdated.
Weve eaten at there buffet a few times. The food was good but it seemed to take awhile for the trays to be refilled.
The staff is friendly and pretty good service.

4 Stars: . (by Starry P.)

While the rooms are decent and the gambling is basically the same all over las vegas, i liked this hotel, because in the middle of the summer, it's casino and lobby floors were the coolest in las vegas. It also has a monorail, so you don't have to go out on the street to go to Luxor or Mandalay Bay. I didn't think it's medieval theme was that widely expressed, however they do offer a knight show. This hotel is on the edge of the strip, which is a con

5 Stars: Castle in vegas (by Olggie Z.)

This place is so cool, its a castle right in the middle of Vegas! I loved looking at how beautiful the pinks and blues were glowing i n the dark. It is connected to its neighbor hotels so you dont have to step out into the scorching heat when you want to move around. They have a night show which is all about swords and things like that, but it is kind of expensive. The rooms were average, cheaper on weekends then week days.

4 Stars: Spa Package (by Karen B.)

A nights stay in the Jacuzzi Suite and day at the Spa couldn't have been a better gift. No problems checking in or finding the room. The Jacuzzi's are in the towers, and my suite was in tower two which happened to overlook the roller coaster on the New York. It was hilarious watching so many people having fun on the roller coaster. When I went down for my massage and spa treatment, something was wrong with their reservations so I rescheduled it for another day. This was a bonus since I live in Las Vegas, because I elected to hang out at their pool for a while and spend time in my room Jacuzzi. When I did go for the day at the spa it was very nice. The staff pleasant and helpful. My masseuse was interesting and competent. Free water and fruit drinks were easily available. Quiet, calm and relaxing. I would definately go back.

PROS: No time limit to enjoy the spa. Free good beverages.
CONS: Can be a long walk to your room.

If you are bringing your kids to Vegas (why would you?), then you should stay here. Lots of entertainment for the young ones and the restaurants are a lot more casual than the other hotels. Stayed here once for a bachelor party (big mistake) and got a very reasonable rate. Another nice thing is that it shares a private monorail with a few other hotels... GREAT since the dessert sun gets everything so hot.

This is the best hotel on the strip for the cheapest price. This is not a luxurious hotel but it still nice. For the price, you can't beat it. The first time that we stayed there we got upgraded to a jacuzzi room. This room was not the cheezy bathtub jacuzzi, the jacuzzi was off of the corner of the building and was awesome.
4 Stars: Excalibur (by Everett P.)

The best thing about the excalibur is the knights of the round table dinner show. It is great and much better than medievil times show. The tickets are not cheap but you can get a comp discount for gambling, and they are worth it anyway. Beware yee, the "free" photo that "comes with the show", later has a $20.00 price tag when the show is half over. Harrrrr!
The new mezanines make getting in and out easy, but it is too bad that the fire breathing dragon and merlin show had to be taken out to make way for them.

2 Stars: You can do better in Vegas (by D. R.)

My wife and I stayed here a couple times because we got really excellent rates. The last time we said, "Why do we keep coming here? Let's spend the extra 25 bucks a night and stay at a nicer hotel!" The Excalibur is a little past its prime. The rooms are in need of renovations and the carpets have that faint smell of smoke even in your non-smoking room. Just stay across the street at Luxor for a little more money and experience the difference. However, the Excalibur is a great place for the home-game poker player to make the move to playing at the tables in Vegas. They have some really cheap buy-in Texas Hold-em tables. Had a great time staying at another hotel, but going to Excalibur for poker!

It is a fun hotel - looks like you are in a Disney set - surprisingly lots of parents bring their kids to this hotel. Lots of activities for families with kids (don't think Vegas is really for kids but not my problem).

So if you are a child at heart and want to feel like royalty for a weekend - this is your hotel (not very expensive).

5 Stars: Best Buffet in L.V! (by by jerrycurlz at Citysearch)

Just got back from LV this morning and I read a review from a guy that said that Excalibur has the best buffet in LV and that "they should knock down every Hometown buffet in LA and build these instead!" HA HA!...This guy def. know food because he's absolutely right!

During my stay in LV I went to two different buffets(Flamingo Hotel and Rio Hotel) and they both sucked and both are more than Excalibur (Rio's buffet is $25!, and their selection sucked!) But I've been to excalibur's buffet a few lv trips ago and it is definitely the best in lv and I've been to virtually every hotel buffet on the strip, so I should know...I've never stayed in the hotel but I've heard its nice...there are worse stays (Flamingo, Rio...Etc.) Give Excalibur a chance though, you'll probably enjoy your stay...

2 Stars: Motel 6, the casino? (by by lord_humongous at Citysearch)

The rooms at Excalibur make you feel like you're staying at a Motel 6 next to the highway in the middle of nowhere. There's nothing terrible about the rooms, it's just not what you'd expect from a big hotel/casino in Las Vegas. The buffet at Excalibur, however, IS terrible.

This seems to be a family destination hotel, there are tons of kids here. So if you don't want to be surrounded by screaming kids, stay somewhere else.

1 Stars: Stay Away! (by by colby13 at Citysearch)

Terrible! Terrible!
Old run down rooms.
I checked in early to find the maid cleaning the room from the previous guest and she didn't even change the sheets. Gross!!
I went right down stairs and demanded a new room and ordered two fresh sheets to change the bed linens myself.
Stay elsewhere - my friend was over at the MGM Grand and those rooms are top notch!

The hotel was clean. I found a great deal on shoes at the boutique located in the hotel. My only complaint was the long wait for my food to be delivered from room service.

5 Stars: In Camelot you are the King (by by tryon4 at Citysearch)

Just returned from Vegas and again stayed at the castle. $ for $ you don't get a better deal anywhere on the strip. Calling in from the airport saves oh so much time on check in. It always amazes us why more people don't take advantage of this service. If Vegas is your destination and a good clean room that is acessable to everywhere then this is the place. Hint use the valet parking they are the best.

5 Stars: The best! (by by jerry_watkins at Citysearch)

The Round Table buffet was absolutely the best buffet I have salivated over. Pass the bib and sign me up for an enema. The best part is the plates are gigantor! So much food to choose from...Ribs,meatloaf,salads,chinese food entrees, chicken. This is absolutely the best part of vegas. Dont waste your money on the slots. Come here 3 times a day!!!! At just $11.99 dinner price. Its more than reasonable for the amount and quality of food your getting. But im sure they make up the money in other ways. Thats how theyre able to afford to give you such high scale foods! I wish theyde tear down every hometown buffet in L.A and put one of these bad boys up. As far as the casino. Who cares. Just come here to eat. Excalibur has cool shops to! Cant wait to comeback with some extra spending cash!

3 Stars: Not the best! (by by irissiri at Citysearch)

I love the theme of this hotel, but that's about all!! Some of the shops were fun to look around in. The Cafe had great food, but the rest of the restaurants were expensive. The buffet was not good at all!! The pool was horrible...the whole thing was only 3 feet deep and it was freezing!!
I wouldn't stay here again!

4 Stars: Profit In A Time Of Crisis (by by Tobias at Citysearch)

The hotel was very nice it had a warm atmosphere and for the most part friendly staff. The one thing I didn't like was on Sept. 11 their rates went from $58 a night to $150 a night when they realized that the airports would be shut down. I couldn't belive it. It truely saddens me that they took this approach. I won't tell you whether to stay at this hotel or not. That decision is for you to decide.

It's location is very convenient being next to Luxor, New York, New York, MGM and Mandalay Bay. It's free and fun to ride the tram to Luxor or Mandalay Bay.

4 Stars: Vegas baby, Vegas (by by kornkim at Citysearch)

Excalibur is a reasonably priced hotel with clean, spacious rooms. The bathrooms are a decent size as well. The casino offers great buffets for a great price. Trying to win some dollars is a whole different story though. But overall, it's a pleasant place to stay.

4 Stars: Didst thou inquire about yon lodging? (by by MechWarriorZero at Citysearch)

As many have noticed my theme of the greatest arcades I've been to on the westcoast, Excalibur is positivlely ranked among them. The room is spacious and comfortable, but the TV is devoid of anything to watch. Hey, you're in Vegas; they don't want you in your room anyway. The breakfast buffet was a tasty surprise and the Jousting Tournament was opulent. Now, the main arcade here is not your run of the mill. It's several dozen sq. feet. of gaming enjoyment. From 360 degree space-combat simulators to classics like Pac-man and StreetFighter. Not as many pinball machines as could be there, the prices were average no bargin games that would keep you there all day, and the machines could be organized better. Forget the casino, just bring your button finger and a pocket full of quarters and you're a winner everytime.

3 Stars: Disney tale gone wrong.. (by by xoxoscorpio at Citysearch)

Yes this place is based off of The Sword and the Stone but isn't as classy as Disney would have done it if it was their hotel. It's a great value in a great spot on the Strip though. There is average slot machines..nothing out of the ordinary, except the Krisy Kreme inside that's open 24 hours a day. The rooms are very basic with some medival times ornaments.
