I am a transgender woman , and as such, I nearly always shop for all my clothes in southbury's K-mart . I almost always can find what I am looking for in my size [ 18-20] in the women's plus size section; which is always well stocked and has many items usually on sale. they do NOT have all those nice, really short , denim mini-skirts/knee length or just above in sizes above 12-14.

I find that most of the women whom work there tend to be really nice , especially the short blonde manager, lisa, whom is always cool to me and in fact, has been nice-er then nice since I began my transition some 2-1/2 years ago in may of 2005. we often chat just like any two girls would, and I even showed her my license. A+++

too bad that NASTY WOMAN manager, just above lisa and the other gals, whom works most afternoons and nights; can NOT be just like the front end mgr i really love chatting with under her! I never got her name, but she is plus sized, with greying hair, AND DANG! IS SHE PERHAPS THE MOST RUDE MANAGER THAT I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH! NOT ONLY DID SHE ACT WHEN I HAD SIMPLY TOLD HER ABOUT A SHOPPING CART FULL OF MUSHED CHOCOLATE IN. BUT LATER , AS I WAS SHOPPING WITH MY CART , SHE DELIBERATELY WALKED RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, AS IF MY BEING TRANSGENDER UPSET HER NARROW MINDED SET OF VALUES! TO THIS NASTY MANAGER, WHOM A FOMER WORKER I KNEW SAID, TREATS THE EMPLOYEES MUCH THE SAME AS SHE DOES CERTAIN CUSTOMERS, MISSY! I THINK YOU BEST GET YOURSELF SOME SENSITIVITY TRAINING TOWARD THOSE WHOM DO NOT FIT YOUR NARROW DEFINITION OF WHAT IS ' MAN' AND WHAT IS ' WOMAN ' BECAUSE I AM A CUSTOMER AT YOUR STORE WHOM , AS A TRANSWOMAN, SHOPS IN YOUR PLUS SIZED LADIES DEPT. AND AS SUCH , I DESERVE TO BE TREATED THE SAME WAY AS ALL YOUR TOWNIE HILLBILLY FRIENDS WHOM YOU ACT NICE TOWARD!

IF YOU CAN NOT DO YOUR JOB ? THEN PLEASE RESIGN AND LET MY FAVORITE CLERK, LISA, TAKE OVER! SHE COULD TEACH YOU SOMETHING ABOUT HOW TO TREAT ALL CUSTOMERS WITH RESPECT, YOU KNOW !

Pros: nice new wide aisles , awesome front end mgr whom I mentioned, ample parking, nice clean ladies room

Cons: no ' family ' restroom for both mothers and third gender people. no more short, plus sized skirts.nasty higher up woman manager with attitude problem
