Dad's Bar & Grill

I love Dad's. Most of the drinks are prices right. Heck, Guinness is 3.75 for a pint can! A Burger and a guinness for under 8 bucks?? Really! They have karaoke thursday through sunday by Barcrawler Entertainment (love those guys too) and Barcrawler provides a DJ in the back bar (The Dawg House) on Friday's n Saturdays. YOU CAN SMOkE INSIDE!!

This was an interesting little bar that I happened upon while playing poker. It was somewhat challenging to locate simply because it is in the middle of Manheim and if you are not familiar with the town layout then you could easily pass it. If you like the feeling of drinking in someone's basement or having nostalgic memorabilia around you then Dad's is the place for you. The staff are very nice and the drinks are affordable. The parking for Dad's is on the other side of the road so if you are bar hopping in this neck of the woods you may want to make sure that your DD knows that he or she will need to cross the street twice to make it to and from the bar.

The great dance floors and 4 bars under one roof should be exciting and a new place to go! The atmospher can be quickly spoiled by the owner yelling at his employees, discussing their personal affairs infront of patrons and degrading women openly. The food, good only when his mother cooks or if he feels like cooking, otherwise the food comes out slow and usually wrong. The food was prepared in a kitchen where the cook neglects to wear a hat or hair net, gloves when preparing food and there was no employee servsafe running the kitchen. The week-ends can tend to bring open and violent bar fights that leads to police involvment. This beautiful esablishment would serve better under a new owner and/or management. I would advise visitors to turn to the Cat's Meow near by or the Summy House down the street. Although these establishments are a little pricer, you will find the service and atmosphere more to your liking.
