I used to go to this place when I was in college. It's a staple in the community and its because of the quality of the establishment. Great sandwiches and great people
4My hubby introduced me to his favorite sandwich shop and its become my favorite after the first bite! Love it! He's been going there for ages and we still go once a week. Very clean and good and we love the personal attention they greet each customer with.
5My Hero has the BEST sandwiches in the Valley! Rose and Denise and their staff are just awesome...the tomato salad is flavorful and combined with the meat and bread their sandwiches are just scrumptious! They always remember my name as well as those of my kids and I always leave with a smile...and a warm and yummy turkey sandwich! 5 STARS!

What a great sub. I had to go to the Northridge area for business this weekend and decided to see if my childhood favorite sub shop was still serving up the GOOD STUFF. Yes they are and I was happy to see, and taste, that the subs are still the same awesome tasting subs from when I was a teenager 25+ years ago.
I wish they wood open one in Laguna Niguel, CA.
Thanks for the memories and a great sub sandwich.

Pros: No other sandwich like it.
Cons: Not close to me.
The service is perfect, the food simply the best. I first ate here in 1969. It was the best Sub then, and the # 7 with everything is still the best sandwich of ANY kind I have ever eaten. When I am in the L.A. area, I make a point of going out of my way to visit My Hero. There is NOTHING else as good in the field. I say this having built and operated three sandwich shops over the last 35 years, and while mine are good too, My Hero set the standard.

Pros: Best food of it's type anywhere.
Cons: There is not one in northern california.
My dad used to eat here when he was my age and I totally see why this place has been open that long! The subs are no-frills old school style submarines and there's no skimping on the ingredients. Rose's tomato salad on the sandwiches makes 'em perfect. They're only open till 6pm and closed on Sundays, so it can be hard to pick up sandwiches after work if you aren't a local or commute.

I've been going there for 30 years and the food has always been very good and consistant. There's always a crowd there during lunch time.
