The people that go here are pretty amazing. I like that you can still strike up a conversation in here and sometimes this place is a little bit more relaxed.

I am surprised to read so many negative reviews of Skyline Bar & Grill. My fiancee arrived after making our reservation, and we were both seated almost immediately at a beautiful, corner window table. We ordered martinis, which were brought immediately; they were delicious and well-made. The menu is somewhat brief, but we truly loved our appetizers and the wonderful steaks that we ordered. We really enjoyed the very romantic evening view of Downtown Houston while talking and sampling appetizers, drinks, and steaks. The service was on cue, yet not intrusive. And we both found the restaurant, service and ambiance to be romantic and memorable.

Pros: Excellent Steaks and Creative Appetizers

this restaurant gets by only on its location. the food is almost non-existant, yes I realize Houston restaurant customers are accustomed to huge servings, but you should not go home from a $200 meal still hungry and feeling mistreated.

try anotherj downtown houston restaurant for your next special occasion dinner

From the moment that we got to the hotel everything went wrong. We had dinner reservations for a birthday celebration for 13 guests at 9:00pm, due to the valet (who wouldn't take our car) we were late 20 minutes. By the time we got up to the restaurant the manager was very rude and pushy, didn't give us any time to actually sit down and look at the menu and was constantly rushing us to order. The service was terrible, the wait staff was very unprofessional. The waiter didn't go over the specials and didn't even take our order (the manager did) and forgot to bring us bread. The menu doesn't give you much selection and the quality of the food is very poor. When we got our food, it tasted like it was old (the fish was not fresh) and it was prepared very poorly. When it was time to get our tab, it took forever and since we had a large party the 18% gratuity was already included. I figured that since our service was so bad that maybe the food would make up for it, but that was not the case. The only good thing that this restaurant has to offer is the good view. Other than that, I would not recommend this restaurant.

I?m surprised by all the reviewers who went here on their anniversaries and/or special occasions. I?m not sure if you guys noticed but this place is in a convention hotel. Not exactly the most romantic of settings. Anyways, I?ve been here a lot. I work out in the gym downstairs, and sometimes I grab a drink after my workout. As I mentioned the gym is downstairs on the 23rd floor, but the work out pool is actually on the same floor as the restaurant. You can actually see people swimming from the bar. Seeing some old geezer doing laps is not the most romantic view from the bar. Haha. As far as the food goes; it?s mostly a seafood menu, which is unfortunate for me because I don?t eat seafood but the steaks I?ve had have been good. All in all the food is okay, nothing spectacular. But the view makes up for the so-so food.

My wife and I went to celebrate our 12th anniversary at Skyline. We have heard so many wonderfull things about the view, food , martinis etc.. We had very good service and the food was excelent. However, we sat about four tables down from the bar and let me say that it ruined my entire evening. The noise level from drunk annoying people was incredibly loud. Not to mention later on the manager sat some people on the tables closer to us which was no different from the bar. Anyway we finished our ruined meal and left. The restaurant has no respect for dinning customers! I should have gone to a sports bar!

Pros: convinient parking, great service

Cons: not fine dinning! more like a sports bar

As a repeated customer, I am very disappointed about the changes at Skyline. I knew Skyline as a fine dinning restaurant with well mannered guests and a wonderful view. Recently, my fiance and I had dinner at Skyline. Our dinner was wonderful and the service was great, but what ruined our evenning was how loud the bar area was getting. As we were trying to enjoy our dinner, these people at the bar were getting louder and becoming obnoxious and some were allowed to sit at the dinning area just to have cocktails. We were spending a lot of money that night to have it be ruined by a bunch of people that cannot control their liquor. What kind of manager allows this.....choosing these drunk people versus people who are spending money in full course dinners and expensive wines. Oh, and it doesn't end here.....to top the night, my fiance went into the mens restroom and it was filthy and it had a beer bottle stuck in the toilet.

Cons: bad ambiance during drunk hour

My boyfriend took me for a special dinner and we were both highly dissapointed. We are an average couple so it meant alot for us to come to such a nice place. We expected the best and got worse then any hole in the wall. We had reservation yet we had to wait even though i saw lots of tables available. We waited at the bar and i ordered a raspberry martini and the waiter had to ask how it was made. We were seated by a window which the view was amazing but it stopped there. We ordered our meals and was dissapointed to see less then 1/4 of the size food of an average meal for 4 times the amount of money. We saw our waiter maybe 2 times once to order and once to bring our food. No refills, no seeing if everything is ok. NOTHING! Yet we were forced to pay a high gratuity. I could understand if we had a large group but we like to determine tip based on service and he was not worth what we paid! we both left hungry and very unsatisfied. We NEVER plan on visting again.

Pros: Good View

Cons: VERY small portions, Too pricey, Bad service, Parking, Unexperienced bartenders

We stopped by here for drinks and appetizers. The view was phenominal, the drinks were great and we had a small appetizer. Haven't eaten a full meal there yet, but it is so romantic we just like to stop and have drinks now and then. I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK, :)

Pros: AMBIANCE, VIEW, SERVICE

.

Though they made a valiant effort to rectify all the mistakes with complimentary drinks, desserts, and gracious apologies, the numerous issues simply could not be contended with.
Though only half the tables were occupied, service was extremely slow. We sought the waiter many times when our drinks were empty, asking him to please check on us more frequently, and even having to request he take our orders. With an 8pm reservation, it was awful that it was 9pm by the time our drinks were refilled and our order finally taken. 9:30 was when our appetizers finally arrived - 1.5 hours later.
When the appetizers arrived the waiter informed two people in our party their meals could not be served because they didn't have adequate food to accommodate their selections, and they had to select an alternate entree.
Our meals finally arrived just after 10pm - 2 hours after we were seated. At the same time the bread for the table that should have been provided when seated - which we also requested earlier - was delivered. In a party of 8, three people had to send their food back. One fish dish in particular (the special that evening, snapper), because it tasted spoiled. This unfortunate member of our party became ill a few hours later, and we can only presume it was related. The other meals returned were 1. completely cold, and 2. a medium-rare steak that was cooked beyond well done.
Though the effort to correct things was present, it just can not compensate for such a poor experience.

We had an excellent dining experience at this restaurant. The food was great, and the service was excellent .The server made our night and we will remember it forever and tell our friends all about it. He was very honest about everything. He was very knowledgeable. I had the duck and my wife had the three little pigs. This was the most tasteful food I have had in Houston. The wine that was recommended went very well with the food we chose. The hostess was nice enough to get us a table by the window insipte of the fact that we were late to our reservation. We were surprised with a great dessert (Frangelico cheesecake with warm cherries and grand marnier sauce) at the end of the meal which said happy anniversary on the plate in chocolate. We thought that was very nice of them to do such a cute gesture. I highly recommend this restaurant to the locals in Houston as well as the visitors.

My husband and I went to the Skyline Bar and Grill for his birthday this past weekend with 2 of our friends and I have to say it was a horrible experiance. We had heard great things about this place from "the bar is great" to "the food and veiw is awesome". Well the veiw is nice, but we walked in for our 9pm reservation and the place felt completely old and stuffy. The lights weren't even dimmed so it was bright- not a good atmosphere. After about 5 minutes a very RUDE waiter came up to our table to get our drink orders. We all ordered drinks and he then asked for our ID's (Let me add here we were there to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday, and this is one of the first times we had been out since the birth of our daughter two months ago) After the waiter made SEVERAL rude comments to us, he then starred down our ID's all the time commenting that he just recieved a fake one! The he WALKED AWAY- with our ID's! He didn't mention once where he was going or why. It was completely uncalled for- I'm all for checking, etc, but don't just walk away with our personal identification and not tell me where you are going! My husband got up and followed this man to get our ID's back and we left. We ended up having a drink downstairs and then going to Azuma for dinner. I am SO irritated that this place ruined his birthday dinner. I would definately suggest going to Tony's for dinner instead- we went last year for his birthday and they were amazing- and NICE! I'm telling everyone I know to NEVER go to this restaurant- it is absolutly horrible, I have never in my life been treated so rudely, it was unbelieveable! Not to mention the atmosphere is totally lame- Go anywhere else except here- Pappa's Bros. Steakhouse, Bob's steak and chops, Tony's, Morton's, Fleming's all fabulous places. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!

Cons: wait staff, atmosphere, definately not what you should expect from a fine dining establishment

My girlfriend and I recently visited this restaurant for her birthday, while staying at the Hilton Americas. All in all it was a very good experience. The view was amazing despite the cloudy skies and the food was delicious. If I were to advise an entree that will be sure to please, it would have to be the strip steak that they have. I believe it was probably one of the best cooked steaks I have ever had the pleasure of eating. If I were to compare, I would probably say it?s better than my last visit to Morton?s in the galleria.

It?s a very romantic getaway in the city. The service was great; they even helped out with a birthday desert, which did have some issues, but nothing to damage the evening. I would definitely revisit this restaurant but next time make sure that the weather is cooperating.

Cons: You definitely pay for the great service

My husband and I ate at the Skyline Bar & Grill for our anniversary. The view was great, but the service and food detracted so much from the experience that I can?t recommend the restaurant even for its vantage point. Our appetizer (bruschetta, $12 and nondescript) came before our bread service. The wine ($54) was the best part of the meal. I had the maple-glazed duck with asparagus risotto, foie gras, and brandied nectarine ($39); my husband had the grouper with ?salsify ribbons? and vegetables ($34). The portions were small: 4 oz of grouper; one duck breast with a 3-cm risotto cake. The fish and duck (medium rare) had good consistencies, but my risotto contained no pieces of asparagus at all; it was basically rice with cheese. The nectarine, though tasty, was just one mouthful. I?d never had foie gras before, and once I took a bite, the waiter said, "That?s fattened goose liver. Not many states serve it, because people consider the way it?s made cruel. They pin the goose up and force-feed it so that its liver slowly turns into fat. You know how very obese people get liver failure? Same thing.? When the waiter came back to clear our plates, he also removed the bread basket and our bread plates?one with bread still on it. For dessert, we ordered a chocolate tagine with pistachio ice cream ($8.50). The kitchen wrote ?Happy Anniversary? on the plate, a nice gesture, but too little, too late. After paying the $150 tab (and tipping, since it?s now de rigeur even for service is substandard), we had the hostess validate our parking. At the valet window downstairs, a rude woman took our ticket along with $6. The restaurant validation only discounts the charge by half.
We dropped about $180 and enjoyed few aspects of the experience. The food was average and the service poor; the waiter?s editorial on foie gras is only one of our uncomfortable interactions with him. For good views, go to a hotel bar. As my husband put it, ?I wouldn?t come here again in a million years.?

I've been here twice, once with a date, and then a second time with my folks for my mom's birthday. Both times were all around great experiences. The service is proficient and courteous and never over-bearing. The restaurant in very small but because of the awesome expansive view you hardly notice it. My only suggestion about the phsyical environment is that the dining chairs are a little too low, they are almost club chairs, and to eat you have to sit up on the edge of the chair. Small price to pay for the great food... their roasted corn bique is absolutely delightful! I reserved a table a week before hand for my mother's birthday and was pleasantly suprised when I got there that they had given us the corner window table... arguably the best table in the place. Furthermore, they really outdid themselves (i think) when my father... not liking the special that the waitress suggested... sent his dish back after one bite... they not only whipped up something else for him in no time flat... but the chef himself also came out to check on teh new dish.... AND they didn't charge even for the old dish (my father basically ate for free!). I just felt they went above and beyond both times I went.

This is a great restaurant and a SUPERB VALUE considering what you pay.... my only suggestion is that you go on a slower weekday night. Some of the reviews on here have been less than great and I wonder if its because it was during a hustle bustle Friday or Saturday... and being the place is tiny...I could see how it could get a little crazy. In any case... MUCH better than the "5 Star" restaurant on the ground floor of the Hilton.

Cons: Uncomfy chairs, better on weeknights

The review below (from rhodes1024) is right on the money! We too went for an anniversary and it was an outstanding experience. So often one reads great reviews; visits a restaurant and is disappointed. Not this one! We had the good fortune of an anniversary on a Monday night - so the restaurant was not crowded. They inquired at the time of our reservation as to the "special occasion" and set us at a table with a very special view. Our waiter (Hazar) was exceptional and we had a relaxed wonderful evening. The food was well prepared with beautiful presentation and tasted outstanding. True to what other reviewers have noted - they arrived with a special anniversary desert - which was just the 'icing on the cake' (so to speak). While the restaurant is expensive - it well warrants the price. We also found the wine list to be quite reasonable for such an up scale restaurant. I have nothing but praise for their chef, their staff and the experience they provided.

I took my wife to the Skyline for our anniversary. The service, food, bread was excellent. When the reservation was made I mentioned that I was bringing my wife for our anniversary. At the conclusion of our meal they brought out a desert with chocolate congratulations of Happy Anniversary scripted. The food quality was excellent and the blend of flavors and plate appeal were elegant. The price of dinner was reasonable for a special night out on the town. This was a positive experience and we will go again. The valet parking is convenient and is available for half of the cost. We took in a Rockets game afterwards and they asked specifically if we were going to a game to get us in and out in time for the game. The restaurant has a great view of downtown and at dusk it created special atmosphere.

Pros: parking, view, food quality, bread, dessert, romantic

Cons: none

My girlfriend and I went to the Skyline for a nice dinner the week of Valentines' Day. Tip: Remember to use the West bank of elevators in the Hilton lobby to get to the 24th floor...the others only go up to Floor 19. Otherwise, the atmosphere and the appearance of the dining room were excellent, great for a romantic evening. Appropriate dress is formal, with most men wearing coats and women in nice dresses. The portion sizes were not very impressive for the price; expect to pay over $40/person, not including premium drinks. The view, however, compensates and is definitely worth the price and the effort needed to get a table next to the windows. Also, make reservations several days in advance to ensure a good table; you won't regret it.

We attempted to visit Skyline Bar and Grill recently at around 8:30 on a Saturday night. A very rude hostess met us at the door and informed us that they were full but we could come back in 45 minutes. Another group followed behind us and were told the same thing but questioned her since most of the tables were empty. The hostess merely repeated herself and didn't attempt to explain. Another hostess came out a minute later and explained that they were not seating anymore people for dinner and once the last dinner customers left, they would conver to cocktail seating. She also mentioned that the bar area was full. Please note that this is a very small place and 12-15 people constitutues full to capacity in the bar area.

We retreated to the lobby bar, where I had a $6.50 Shiner draft and then returned to Skyline after the 45 minutes had elapsed. This time, we were quickly seated and secured a table by the window. We were not able to notice any difference in table configuration. We waited for 5-7 minutes before anyone came to the table even though there were only 2 other tables occupied. I asked for a wine list, which took 10 minutes for the waiter to produce. After waiting another 10 minutes for the waiter to return, we decided to cut our losses and leave. We ended up wasting over an hour to view Houston from the 24th floor and wasn't even served. The view is great but if you want drinks and a view, go to the 60th floor of the Chase Tower during business hours, then find somewhere for happy hour.

My girlfriend and I recently celebrated an anniversary and I chose this fine restaurant to dine in. To anyone who wants a fantastic view, make a reservation and request your table. I did, and it was worth it. Though we arrived a few minutes late, the hostess was extremely sweet and gave us an amazing table. We sat along the west wall which showcased downtown Houston lit up, which my girlfriend loved. The server, Freddie, was very knowledgable and gave us wonderful suggestions. I had the duck, which was fantastic, and this chocolate dessert which was so rich, but good, with pistachio ice cream. We loved the entire experience. My girlfriend and I couldn't agree more that this restaurant is very romantic and strives to make all their guests happy. We will definetely be back!

My friends and I truly enjoyed our experience at the Skyline Grill. The views are breath taking, enjoyable for all - not just the romantic guests. Our entres included the scallops (fabulous) and duck (excellent). The Kobe appetizer was delicious - all beautifully presented. The sauces and relishes are the best I have ever eaten. The service was adequate - a little out of sink for the quality of the food. Overall the hotel is beautiful - hopefully the lobby will be smoke free, it was overwhelmingly smoky when we left after dinner.

While the view from a window table is enjoyable, our experience at Skyline was very disappointing. Our family of 5 went on a Friday night, and the restaurant was almost empty at 7:30 pm. Despite the small crowd, our meal took over 2 hours to complete, waiting at least 30 minutes for each course to be served. On several occasions, we considered asking for a bill for our drinks and leaving. Our waiter was nearly non-existent, never actually remembering to bring my wife a glass of ice, a request made when we were first seated at our table. We did not receive our main course until nearly 9pm, hungry and upset that we were forced to eat so late in the evening. We did not receive an explanation or even an apology for the wait in the empty restaurant. To top it all off, our meals were mediocre at best, nowhere near the quality expected for the prices. The menu was overly complex, yet thouroughly unimpressive. We will never return to Skyline, and will never advise someone else to try it.

I heard of this place via word of mouth and then looked on City Search where it was highly rated. The rating could not have been further off. It truly is the worst excuse for a "nice" restaurant I think I've ever seen. There are plenty of nice places to go to for special occasions in this City and this is not one of them for any purpose. The hostess was nice enough. Sat at the bar for a few minutes. The bartender came over and first wanted to know what we wanted. My fiance asked about any special martinis and he said they had many. As an afterthought, he said, we have a martini menu. Duh? He left to go get the menu which was about 20 feet away by the hostess stand (? not sure why it was there). Of course, he had to stop for several minutes to chat with the young cute hostess as he had nothing better to do. When he finished his social outing at the hostess stand, he decided to come back to our table. The drinks were made and were reasonably good. It took about 15 minutes to get seated at a table that was entirely empty when we walked in. Not sure of the reason for the delay, but it was only a few minutes. Unfortunately, we were two tables away from what appeared to be 10 people at a business dinner of sorts. They were yelling, etc. and were clearly intoxicated. I had to almost yell to speak to my fiance who was 2 feet from me. The couple directly next to them had to be really irritated and looked so. Yet, no one made one effort to resolve that problem. The waiter was the only highlight. The salad I had was the worst tasting thing I could imagine. The cajun corn chowder was not much more than Campbell's corn chowder with one cajun seasoned shrimp in it. Poor excuse, but it was okay, but considering the price, it should have been much more than okay. The main courses were acceptable, but again nothing warranting the price they asked for them. The bottom line. Not worth the $$ and I would not return.

Pros: Only the view if you get a table by a window

Cons: Everything else. Food. Ambience. Bartender. Really only a 1-2 star restaurant.

I was first introduced to this fine restaurant on a buisness venture. I treated two of my clients for lunch and they raved about the food and service. Needless to say it helped my paycheck. After the wonderful experience I decided to take my lovely wife there for our anniversary. I was a little upset because we could not get the best table in the corner, but the hostess was kind enough to give us one right next to it. Actually the view was just as good. We were greeted promptly by the cute, bright eyed hostess, where she actually replaced my wifes white napkin with a black one. RIght then and there I knew the night was going to be a success. All in all, dinner was great and the service just as stellar. I would highly recommend to either persuade a client or impress the mrs.

Pros: happy servers with great attitudes

Cons: Wish I would have made the reservation earlier. Not enough corner tables to go around :o)

I tried to find the perfect restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday. We were seated promptly by a window and the view was amazing. I expected the food and drinks to be expensive, but I did not like the food. The entree was ridiculously small and was not hot. The place was almost empty so there was no excuse for the food being cold. It tasted like a frozen dinner that had been somewhat heated up. Go for the view, but not the food.

Thank you Skyline!

From the valet to the greeter to the bartender to our waiter...the service was fantastic. We had no problems what-so-ever during our night at the Skyline...and they made sure that we were always comfortable, happy, and well taken care of. But they were not oppressively there...just always there when you needed them and when they were there it was as unobtrusive as could be...allowing for a feeling of privacy for my wife and I. They even gave us a complimentary dessert once the waiter found out that we were celebrating an important event in our lives.

And the food was wonderful as well. And frankly, I wasn't expecting the food to be up to par with the view of the locale but it was, which was icing on the cake. I wouldn't quite put it up there with the Mark's of the city...but it's not that far behind either.

I highly recommend arriving a good 45 min earlier than your reservation so that you may take in the view from the outdoor observation deck before dinner. It can get windy up there, so be aware ladies.

The whole experience made for a very enjoyable and romantic evening with my wife.

After reading all of the reviews on this website, I was unfortunately less excited about mine and my wife's planned visit to this restaurant. HOWEVER, after my experience at Skyline, last Friday night, I would say that that those who have such negative opinions on the place should maybe give it another run. We arrived on time for our reservation, and were politefully and gracefully informed by the hostess that our reserved window table would take a few moments to set up. Because of the high demand for window tables, they do not guarantee window tables when you make reservations, but promise to do their best to make sure you get the view you want (which we did). We had a drink at the bar, couple of great signature martini's, prepared by Candace, the charismatic bartender, and were sat 20-25 mins after we arrived. The view is just a sweeping, beautiful mosaic of downtown. Table was great, napkins folded neatly, silver and stemware polished to a glowing perfection, and our server was "on the ball". Knowledgeable, charming, accessible and most of all not pushy, or arrogant, which seems to be a common trend among many of the other fine-dining establishments we have visited in the city. (THANKS RICKY!) Had a great bottle of mid-priced merlot, which paired very well with the salad Americas and Chef's featured entree, my choice for the evening. My wife's duck breast was beautifully prepared, cooked correctly and impeccably presented. The excitable Executive chef, Jason, stopped by our table to ask how our evening was going, as well as recommend a dessert (the Chocolate Terrine). He was well spoken and obviously very well educated. Over-all, it was one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever enjoyed, and by far, the best I have enjoyed in Houston. Highly recommend having a after dinner drink on the open terrace just to finish off the romantic decadance this restaurant can offer. Four stars, across the board. Thank you!

We have had several exemplary meals here in the past. On our visit about 6 months ago they revealed the original Chef had departed; however everything was perfect. Our visit last week really showed the unfortunate changes, not only in the food. The server had the demeanor of Fine Dining but couldn't back it up with service or knowledge. The new chairs would be great in a cocktail lounge but put our chins almost on the table (ok some exaggeration). The bread service was late and dismal. The food lacked al the pizazz it used to have, overcooked, underseasoned, etc. Won't return unless we hear of staff changes.

My wife and I have been going to Skyline since the hotel first opened. We recently moved out of the city and have not dined at Skyline in about 6 months. We made a special trip there last Friday night. The view was even better than I remember as now there is a view of the new park. The food was increadible and even though we have not been in over 6 months the staff remembered my wifes favorate drink. I dont know how they did that but it sure impreased my wife and I. They have also added a piano to play during dinnner which was a very nice touch. My wife and I will definatly be back and I would continue to promote Skyline as a sure thing wonderful experience.

My boyfriend took me to this restaurant for our 6 year anniversary. I made the reservations actually, and asked for a window view sitting. We arrived about 20 minutes late for our reservations, but was seated promptly. We were just in time to watch the sun go down, it was beautiful & romantic! We ordered the crab cake for appetizer and it was SOOOO GOOD!! As for an entree, we both had the veal and we thought it was just superb! It was cooked exactly as per our request. For dessert, we ordered the delicious Warm Spice Cake. It was probaly portioned for one person. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we hope to come back again to try the rest of the menu! The table next to us though.. seemed to have a dingy waitress. And the hotel is beautiful itself!

Very nice view, and nice atmosphere. The food was not up to par for the very expensive pricing. Although the service was good, very disappointed in the food.
Even though we made reservations, we still had to wait for our table which was not bad for us, we sat by the view and enjoyed cocktails. Very small bar and restaurant.

The Skyline has a fantastic view of the downtown skyline and is very romantic. My wife and I had dinner there for our 6th anniversary. She adored the place. Whe I made reservations I requested the best table in the house. Upon arrival at the restaurant, the hostess seated us right away. Although the table was very nice, it was evident from the actions of the hostess that we were bumped to the next table down from what I was promised. The only saving grace was the waiter's offer to compliment our meal with a desert "on the house". The restaurant is lovely for a night out with a wonderful view, but if you want really good food without the view, I would suggest one of the many restaurants on the ground that provide better food for a better price.

The Skyline Bar & Grill is probably the best upscale restaurant that I have ever attended in Houston, Tx. A lot of them are fancy, and they all have a bunch of extra, but everything seemed to be on point at this restaurant. I made reservations (which you have to, or you will not get a table), but I showed up early. They couldn't seat me when I showed up because of other reservations, but they have a sky balcony looking over downtown where you can stand, sit, or lay outside, and enjoy the beautiful city before they call your table. Also this was the best food that I have ever tasted at a fine restaurant. I am a very picky eater. And a lot of the time, I'm minimally satisfied with the food served, but everything on my plate, includind desert was delicious. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.

My mom was in from out of town- and they dont have view like this where she is from! She kept saying- WOW! This view just knocks my socks off! The food was good- (We just got nibbles, since she had already eaten) and the wine was great. The service was amazing (Jason? Justin?) He even swapped out a red that I didnt really care for, with another that was better suited to my taste. All in all- I think this is a fantastic place for a date, birthday party (private dining area), cocktail, business meeting or the like. Its just a fantastic taste of what Houston has to offer. I'm spending my anniversary there on New Years!

Enjoy!

We were seated immediately. Service was great. The food was excellant. I do not recommend that you try to eat here before the theatre because the restaurant does not open until 5:30 and you will be rushed. I recommend this restaurant when you have the time to fully relax and enjoy all that it has to offer.

I do not recommend that you try to eat here before the theatre because the restaurant does not open until 5:30 and you will be rushed. I recommend this restaurant when you have the time to fully relax and enjoy all that it has to offer.

This is one of the best places to eat! The service was great as well as the food. I would say this place may have the best view in Houston! Our waiter was very polite and knew the menu very well. The food was so good and you get enough to actually fill you up. We thought the food was well worth the price. It does take some time to get your food so make sure to allow yourself at least an hour and a half or more for the meal if you have reservations somewhere afterwards. This is a place we are adding to our favorites and will highly recommend to all our friends and family. Dominik you are great chef!!

My wife and I went to Skyline for our anniversary and the experience was wonderful. The drinks were top notch; the food was excellent; the view is unparalleled. The service was attentive as well. Even though it was a weekday night, the bar was busy and a little noisy, but not too bad. We will definitely be back.

Skyline Bar and Grill was such a wonderful experience. The service was just amazing...I couldn't ask for better. The dessert was absolute satisfaction. I highly recommend the Chocolate Hazelnut Torte or the Creme Brule...AMAZING! Skyline also has a great selection of wine. I was sold on the Georges de Latour Cab by Beaulieu Vineyard...very tatsteful and complemented my dinner. Overall I had a great night, great wine, great food, great dessert, and awesome Service!!!! WILL COME AGAIN!!

After reading the reviews, I was looking forward to a great evening at Skyline. Very disappointed with overall experience. Decor is slightly cheap looking. Service was really slow and the restaurant wasn't crowded. Called to ask for 7p reservations, but told us they could get us in at 7:15p. When we got there at 7p for a drink at bar, it was almost empty. Food is too expensive ($14 salad) with small portions. Had to correct bill twice. Won't go back.

Great restaurant to showcase our city ... bring your out of town guests and business associates. Service was excellent and attentive, even if a bit slow paced. All in our party raved about the meal. View, ambience, menu, decor were wonderful. Excellent desserts. Check out their private dining room...

No doubt, the view is very nice, but the dinning room has all the ambiance of a conference room. The food was average and pricey. If you don't mind trading in the view for better food and ambiance while staying within the Hilton, try Spencers on the ground floor: incredible rib eye and a very active bar.

We went on Friday night for our anniversary. The view is really beautiful and the sky was just right. I was not impressed with their cocktail menu and the restaturaunt was pretty empty at 9:00 p.m., the entrees were good but nothing special. It was also quite uncomfortable to enjoy our dinner with the extremely cold temperature which they tried to adjust but never really got thier. We had a good time nevertheless...but would probably go back only for a drink before going out downtown.

This place has a great ambience, service, and best of all, a stunning view. Would recommend for dinner or drinks after a date. Ask for a table by the window facing west.
