A local college hangout, Iguana??s Taqueria is a late night pit stop for anyone with the post party munchies. Not well known unless you are a local to the community due to their lack of webpage exposure. There is no menu online or even details about the restaurant besides the advertisement of the Burritozilla, their signature burrito. The Burritozilla is a five pound monstrosity of meat, vegetables, sauces, and tortilla. Having tackled a few of my own, it is always a feat to attempt the monumental task. The Burritozilla is so famous that it made an appearance on the television show Man versus Food. Located right next to a rival taqueria, La Victoria, Iguana??s definitely takes the cake, or beans for that matter.

Pros: Burritozilla

Cons: Can't eat there enough

This is the place to come after a bar or club. When you are looking for something yummy to munch on this is the place. I like the burritos here. The burritos are big, so you might want to expect some leftovers.

We were just passing through, well actually picking our daughter up from the University, and she said we had to try this place called "Iguana's", that it was fast, cheap and good. Of course we thought yeah right. OMG, I have never been treated so nice, and the service was fast, the place was super clean, of course it's small, but those are the best eating places, when every one is sitting shoulder to shoulder. Being from Pomona,Ca,. we thought we had all the bomb eating places right here in L.A., but now I know that we don't. And I cant wait to take her back to school just to go back to Iguana's. I will be packing some to bring back home.
P.S. Keep up the good work. Never mind the haters, just brush 'em off yo shoulder....

Huge, delicious portions of all types of Mexican favorites! The burritos were very substantial, and the order of chips with guacamole turned out to have a huge amount of guacamole. It was enough for three of us to share, but the guacamole was very fresh and tasted great, so I would never complain about that!

I went there because of the show Man vs. Food and that was a huge mistake. Absolutely no flavor. I will never go there again and will stick with the best in the Bay Area, Super Taqueria.

We saw this place on Man VS Food and decided to try it. It is located in an old house in the heat of the San Jose State University.

It was definitely a case of television editing making a place appear polar opposite of what it actually is. I can see why the campus crowd loves Iguana's. It is inexpensive, stays open late, location allows for a close walking proximity. It is hipto-grunge and sports a 'party' attitude/ It is exactly what one would expect in an establishment tucked away in a university setting.

I can get passed the paint chipped walls; the need to use tokens to use the incredibly disgusting bathroom and the lack of space to sit when the place is marginally busy. What I cannot get passed is the food itself.

We ordered the famous BurritoZilla- an 18 inch, 5.5 pound burrito that tasted like anything, but an actual burrito. It was skillfully constructed, but the flavor was just not there.

Exercising our 3x you're out rule, on another visit, we opted for smaller portions and tried the carne asada and pollo. Again, the flavor was just not there.

I would not say it was horrible. I would say that it was edible, but not enjoyable.

I seriously don't know what that girl below is talking about. I've been going here for years and not once have I had any problems with their customer service. In fact, I would say that the person behind the register has always been friendly, outgoing, and cheerful. I love this place because of their hot orange sauce. I like it better than La Victoria because it's spicier and tastier. It is the bomb yo.

My favorite place downtown. The Nachos, Burritos, and Tacos are all excellent. Never leave hungry and great tasting. Don't need to cover up your bad tasting food with any color sauce. Also the employees are always extremely fast and friendly. I don't know what the girl's problem is other than she probably works at the other place around the corner and is jealous her food isn't as good.

I tried, I tried, and even tried a third time-I love Mexican Food, Absolutely LOVE IT...Love the idea of live music, outdoor seating...Lots of fun...But the customer service is less than ....ANYTHING...the first time I went in there- the girl was making out with her BF at the register [I am not one to get upset for waiting a few minutes, but I was about to scream]...I waited a good 3-5 minutes for them to stop slobbering on each other- I didn't say anything, just ordered...The next time I went in there, the guy was like a brick wall and was dumber than a pile of stones...The third time,- yes I tried them a THIRD time...I had a special order, STEAK, ONIONS, CILANTRO, TORTILLA...That is it... Paid the extra 50 cents or whatever- told her EXACTLY what I wanted...when my plate came out, and I had received ground beef that made me want to Ugh..I couldn't believe these people...I told the woman what I wanted AGAIN and it was like I was asking for her to make me a plate of Spaghetti or something..She finally offered me my money back very RUDELY- and that was it, I told her to keep the money since I didn't want their trash...Stay away from this place, they are rude, and their food is terrible....You are better off at McDonald's...Seriously...

Plenty of meat, not overstuffed with rice and beans like many places. The meat was also full of flavor. A good spot for a quick mexican bite.
