VCA Animal Hospital: Helpful, kind and caring. I have never been quoted a price like the previous review. I have a cat with Petellar Luxation: Floating Knee Caps. I took her to a "cat only" vet who said we needed to fix her knee caps immediately and quoted me a 4400.00 price. I went back to VCA to see what they said and they told me that cosamin and condroiton was the only thing we needed to do and that she could live a normal life and would just walk funny. I've since brought in my ferret, my new kitten whom I adopted from the Humane Society and they have been nothing but nice and never insistant about the care. They care for the animals and they never ask you to pay for anything you can't afford. I love Dr. Martin and Jonathan and Fay can't be beat for being helpful. These people treat my animals like they're their family and I've had rotten experiences with other vets who do overcharge. VCA Northern is one of the best clinics you can take you dog or cat to.

I went to VCA Northern Animal Hospital and had a wonderful experience there. The tech did the preliminary stuff- temp, weight, etc, and then the doctor came in and examined my dog. She said he was in good shape, told me about heartworm testing and prevention, diet and parasite control. My dog has tartar on his teeth and the vet said the same thing that happens to people happens to pets as well. The tartar can cause gingivitis, swelling, bleeding and bacteria can travel from the gums into the pet's bloodstream. They gave me an estimate for the heartworm testing and the dental. I applied for the care credit they have available there, was accepted and my dog now has clean and healthy teeth. The care credit plan also has no interest repayment plans which makes paying them back easier. I will return to VCA for all my pets needs!

I am usually a fan of any vet clinic but I am concerned about this VCA. I adopted 2 cats from the Arizona Humane Society who listed VCA as an approved veterinarian and they were near my house so I took my cats there. The vet explained that both of my cats are in pain and need dental care immediately at the cost of $2200. I was scared for the animals but I was also a bit concerned about the price.
I called 2 other vets who both balked at the $2200 price tag. I found another vet on 36th Street who came highly recommended on several forums. I took my cat to the vet and without explaining what happened I asked if my cats teeth needed any work and I would be happy to pay any price. The vet looked at me funny and asked why I thought such beautiful teeth needed dental work? She said they may need a cleaning but they were obviously well cared for and there is no concern about their teeth.
My cats have been with me for 2 years now. Their second vet also said their teeth was fine (I started taking them to a vet that was closer to my house). I'm never going back to the VCA Hospital.
