This is more impressions than a review. I live north of Hollywood Blvd.
I have been tempted to go to the Vine theater and have not because it looks scary. It is close to a adult store, makes me shiver to think what might be on the floors of this theater.
The outside is always disgustingly dirty and dark. Maybe someday I will find a brave friend to walk in with me and then I can give you a true review.

When you call this number, you cant understand a word they are saying. Good luck trying to find out what movies are actually playing!

This theater is where the famous scene in "Man in the Moon" starring Jim Carey was shot....and incidentally this was where the original Andy Kaufman "milk & cookies" thing happened.
The 2 for one cost of second run films...is always a good deal at that. This theater holds much nostalgia. The snacks are always cheap & good. They have hotdogs.....but the seats arent comfortable.
But people dont come to this theater for comfy seats but that old feeling.....you get from old hollywood theaters.
Many old dreams still kick around it.

The Vine on Hollywood Blvd. is good place to catch those movies you just missed in first-run theatres, or at least a place to watch movies you want to see but would never pay full price, since they offer double features for $7. The theatre itself is aged and in need of repair. If you don't mind the musty atmosphere and the so-so sound system, then have yourself a cheap night at the movies. I also rented out this theatre for work... BAD IDEA. The owner is difficult and would never stick to any contractual agreement, so I wouldn't recommend it for private screening rentals, unless you're desparate for a venue. The theatre manager, though, is kind and is in no way a reflection of the not-so friendly theatre owners.

PROS: cheap movies: 2 features for $7.
CONS: old, ill-kept theatre. poor sound system.

A relic in the middle oh Hollywood the Vine theater is a second run movie theater than shows 2 films for the price of $7. The theater is wonderful but cleanliness is not a priority here at all.
