Good place to go for a massage but alittle run down and dirty. U have to know who to ask for also. Sometimes the front desk seem unfriendly but they also do good hair. Overall id say its hit and miss.

Reception staff are either indifferent, uninterested, or artificially sweet. Decor and ambiance of the whole place needs updating. Had a nightmare technician for a facial. Massage therapist I've tried so far are acceptable. Will not recommend this place to anyone I care about.

I am utterly disappointed. I had my hair straightened by Alice at Amadeus Salon, Green Street. I was told its going to be bone straight. I am sure she must be laughing behind me.. "bone straight!! yeah.. you wish!!" My hair looks like a bunch of straws - ugly wavy straws. This is the ugliest looking hair I have ever had. I HATE MY HAIR. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate her minus 10. Never go to Amadeus, and if you did go.. never never let Alice touch your hair. She does not deliver what she promises. I VOTE NO TO ALICE.

My daughter and I went for an expensive manicure/pedicure experience which I thought would be a very special treat for her graduation. WRONG!!! From the beginning when we went to select magazines we found a minimal selection, everything several months old and falling apart. We should have left then while we were ahead. The spa interior was very unimpressive, not luxurious or inviting like I would expect for the prices they charge. Trish, my manicurist began filing my first nail at which I yelped since she was hurting me, she continued until she drew blood. Trish also sniffled from a cold the entire time she did my mani/pdei...really disgusting!!! At the conclusion of our pedicures we thought we could sit and relax for a few minutes to allow our nails to dry, instead we were told a group was coming in and we needed to leave. Not at all what I expected for the price we paid. I'll never return even if we had paid half of what we did, it was a very unpleasant experience.

I have been to this location twice. The first time was for a massage with a very odd woman-- but hey, who doesn't' love a massage!
So the second time, my husband sprang for a "day at the spa" gift for my birthday. It entailed: an hour-long massage, a facial, and a mani and pedi. You would think this would be a fabulous experience, right? Well the girl at the front desk was totally underwhelmed and couldn't find my reservation for a few minutes, then did... basically said here's your robe and off I went. She never mentioned the fact that I would be there all day, which I should have brought up because it became a problem later! What happened was: she should have asked for my lunch order, but didn't. I had a FANTASTIC massage from Carmen, and an equally good, (though an oversharer!) of a facial. I was told I had time to take a shower before lunch, then mani and pedi. But apparently this not getting my lunch order before threw the rest of my visit off. Plus the fact that they only have ONE shower, and someone was in it, meant I had to eat my lunch WHILE getting a manicure. ew! I felt like the water was getting into my salad. Plus, I noticed that their mani rates start at $50, and for what I got, I would rather get the usual $20 job at any place else. It really wasn't anything special. And from what the package costs, this is frankly not acceptable.
I should have spoken up, but didn't, because it was my birthday damnit and didn't want to get upset.

The only person I would recommend is Carmen for amazing deep tissue skills. Otherwise, this place is just a bit outdated and grungy, and for the love of God, get that other shower fixed. It's been broken since at least Feb 2008, that I know of!

Stay Away - I probably shouldn't even say anything further, very poor customer service, lack of professionalism etc. costly and fail to take into considerations their client's wisshes as to interjecting their own opinions

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a spa! My girlfriends and I got massages and the place is tiny & messy. Cups & Robes everywhere. There are only 2 showers (one was out of order) and few lockers. My massage therapist was very strange - wore a fedora hat during the 60 mins. I will never go back and unfortunatley will never go to a different Amadeus Spa.

My first cut at Amadeus was excellent, and they were very nice. When I returned, they were too busy to be bothered and the man who cut my hair the first time spent maybe ten minutes with me total. His assistant did the entire blowdry and style, after which he returned to say goodbye. The cut was different than the first one, but he didn't seem to have any interest in whether it was what I wanted. I went back again, thinking he had just had a bad day. Same thing. Too busy to bother. Too cool to care. I'll never go back.

Amadeus Spa in Pasadena has the worse front desk receptionist of any salon or any business for that matter! The staff is constantly being replaced and therefore the lack of training is evident. I am suprised they all know how to answer a phone let alone check customers in and out. Just scheduling an appointment in itself is a task for these people. I have been a long time customer of over 10 years and love the stylist, colorist, and massage therapists there! But I feel the owners need to shell out a few more bucks on training for the front desk staff considering they are the first people who customers encounter because it really does give a big impression on the rest of the staff who are just wonderful. Please do something!

I was very surprised and disappointed when I gathered items to buy with the Spa Wish certificate that I got as a gift for my birthday.....went to the counter near the cashier where she told me they don't accept them...only for massages! I have gotten this Spa Wish gift certificate before and have had no trouble with buying products at other salons. I even spoke to the Mgr and he just said, "sorry". I would not go back there......got a very unfriendly vibe.

I've gone several times for bikini and recently for eyebrow design which was nerve wracking decision for me. She perfectly evened my brows by tweezing and listened to my concerns about their shape. I feel much more confident.

PROS: listening and skill - she has at least ten years experience
CONS: it's not free

Amadeus Spa is a wonderful place to go for a bit of pampering. I've had full body massages, facials, and my eyebrows styled by various technicians. I've always been incredibly satisfied with the quality of the care I've received.

Oh, but going to Amadeus Spa makes one wish for ridiculous amounts of disposable income that could be spent right here. I presonally think the facial is the best bet, because a small upper body massage is included-- and since neck and shoulders is where I keep my stress-- ah! relief! Go to Veronica for the best treatments-- she is so gentle and even her voice is soothing and helps you to de-stress after a hectic day. Afterwards, you can hang around and use the shower room and/or sauna for as long as your lil heart desires. Sweet!

They are a day spa but I went there to get my nails done. Very quick with the cuticle cutting, and very attentive with the footbath for my pedicure. I like how they treated me and the price is not bad.

This is not money well spent! I requested an full body massage and received only half. My legs didn't even get massage. I felt rushed when I went there to relax. I called to confirm my appointment and they had me down on the wrong day. I just felt like I was dealing with a bunch of amateurs. The maussuese seemed awkward and whimpy. I tried to explain I the touch and technique I like, but it wasn't taken into consideration. Find some other place to go for massage.

PROS: ??
CONS: waiste of money/you don't get what you want

Was somewhat disappointed. Although she did a nice job, she was somewhat rough.
The room where the pedicures are done is very uninviting -
green walls, no windows.
They will validate your parking, so be sure to ask.

The Amadeus Spa on Green Street offers a multitude of services: nails, hair, massages, facials, and waxing, just to name a few. I was given a gift card for a massage and facial, and was quite pleased with the service and setting.

After checking in, I was led to the bathroom, which also boasts a steam room, showers, and an area in which to dress and get ready once your services are over. After a bit of time in the steam room and then in the quiet room, I was taken back to the massage room by my masseuse. The massage was excellent. The masseuse asked the type of pressure I preferred and followed that throughout the treatment. She also didn't chat, which I loved!

I then spent some time in the quiet room before my European facial. Again, another extraordinary service. The esthetician offered suggestions for my dry and post-baby hormonal skin.

I would definitely return to Amadeus in the future.

There is too much to say about this place. They provide you beverages if you are interested. They always have someone hip, fun, and ready to style your hair. They have great service and are so nice and helpful in any way they can possibly be. I go there to get my hair done and they always do such a wonderful job. They use really good products and give you relaxing head massages. I'm always so excited to go.

This is my second favorite spa (to Burke Williams) in Pasadena. I had a great haircut and an okay massage. I have had better massages, but each massage is dependent on the therapist. There is a smaller relaxation room than Burke and a similar price. I was really happy with my haircut. Parking is a pain because you have to pay the Paseo rates.

Enjoy.

Be prepared to get spoiled in this place. The staff is very friendly and super professional. If you're a very modest person, there's no need to worry at this place - the staff will make you feel at ease. Go in for a massage or a special body scrub andcome out feeling relaxed.

The hairstylists also do great work - it's definitely worth the expense.

I use Amadeus for waxing treatments. Their staff is discrete and professional. My only warning would be that the hostesses change on a regular basis and therefore usually are in some learning phase. That, however, does not outweight the quality of service you recieve once you are there.

A day spa environment. Outside of the common waiting area, which is kind of noisy, it's quiet and relaxing. A little less personal than I'd like, but the facilities are quite nice.

I moved to Florida about a year ago and still can't find anyone as good as Engina out here. I get my hair colored with her every chance I get when I am back in L.A. She is truly the best hair colorist I have ever been too. I have always had beautiful hair color and highlights thanks to Engina. People always compliment me on how great my hair looks. I highly recommend her services. She always understands what the client desires and knows how to achieve the best results.

Pros: great hair colorist

Amadeus is a great place to go for massages. When you walk inside Its like you're entering a parallel universe -- peaceful, quiet, healing. I've had several different masseuses, all have been good. My only complaint is that I cant afford to go more often.

Pros: Great massages

Cons: A bit pricey

Pros: Great Location, great parking, skilled staff

Cons: small dressing rooms and a bit pricey

June 05, 2009

Ok, I have never had such a need to write a review about any place before. In fact, I have never written a review before about anything. But this spa made me feel like I really have to write one to warn others. Sorry, but I have to give a little background first.

I reserved two treatments for my mom and myself, a massage and a facial. I received a weekly email from the company for a discount for both service. I wanted to treat my mom and didn't want her to know how pricey it would be, so I kinda lied to her and told her that I got a gift certificate from someone. I was going to go to the place to buy a certificate but decided to go on to the Amadeus website first. I was very happy to see that I was able to get an instant certificate online and not have to make a trip there.

I have to say the massage was great but I was a little disappointed with the facial. The facial suppose to last for one hour and 15 minutes. Towards the end of the facial, the beautician left the room for about 10 minutes, "to let me rest" as she said. I have had many facials at different spa, and I have never had anyone that actually leave the room during the service. Most will give a mini massage of arms, legs, and shoulder. So I was a little surprise. I thought it was only mine, but apparently my mom's also did the same thing. So I guess it's something that the beauticians at this spa do.

Now when it comes to checking out, this is the part that annoyed me the most. I gave the cashier the coupons for the service and also the gift certificate. She told me that I cannot use the gift certificate along with the coupons. I was like "what"??? It's a certificate!! She said the coupons said it cannot be used in conjunction with the certificate bought at spaboom. I was like I bought it directly at the Amadeus Spa website. Apparently, when you buy the instant certificate online, I guess the checkout process is actually done by spaboom.

Let me tell you, there's no indication what so ever on their site that said that. I read the terms and conditions before I purchased it. She said because it's "discounted". I paid FULL price for that certificate, not "discounted" like she said. But then she said because Amadeus needs to pay them some kind of charge for that service. What does that have to do with me???? Like I said, I paid full price. I was so upset. The only reason I even went to this spa is because of the coupon. She ended up giving me a two people discount for the services but still not as much as what it should have been with the coupon I bought.

With this experience, I will probably never go back to this spa again. It's a shame cause the massage was great. If not for that, I would definitely only give it a one star. If anyone wants to try out a spa, I will pick Burke Williams over this one for sure. Service and amenities are just wayyyyyy better.

Pros: Good Massage

Cons: Bad everything else

September 18, 2008

I went here for a masage and I saw Malaih (i think) she is amazing...SO sweet and very strong. It was a very relaxing environment in her room. I reccomend to ask for her when getting a massage she is so GOOD! Also splurge on the hot rock massage!!!! It's so worth it!!!
Loved it!!

Pros: Friendly staff and great environment

Cons: Pricey

September 04, 2008

This is a terrible salon, overpriced and elitist. The staff act like you are doing them a favor for paying money for their service. It is a training salon and they expect you to tip the assistants in training who are aloof. i would never go back there or recommend it to anyone. marco is arrogant and the owners and co-workers all know it.

Pros: none

Cons: too long of wait, overpriced, dirty

October 25, 2007

When i first visited Amadeus on Green street 8 years ago, it was a top notch salon with great service,
clean facility, friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgable staff. On a recent return, I was shocked to find
it run down, dirty with rude personnel. The pedicure room is in shambles and my pedicurist was indifferent.
The products in the lobby look tired and unappealing. I don't know who is running this place now
but they are running it into the ground. Too bad.

August 25, 2007

This was my first time at Amadeus. The staff was very friendly. It was very relaxing and quiet. I only got a massage. I will be back to try some of their other services. The price is reasonable and well worth it when you compare it to other Pasadena massage/spa services.

Pros: price, service, environment is friendly, parking garage

Cons: located at a crazy, crowded outdoor mall, small

April 20, 2007

After hearing so many great things about Amadeus I decided to finally give them a try. Let me just say that my expectations were exceeded to say the least. From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted by a warm and friendly staff. After being escorted to the locker room to change into my robe I was offered refreshments and seated in a beautiful and tranquil waiting area. This place really knows how to make you feel pampered. Great customer service, I look forward to my next service and trying the other Amadeus locations... I would recommend this spa and salon to anyone!! Give it a try your in for a treat!

Pros: Great customer service, parking validation, great location

November 11, 2006

Amadeus Spa used to provide good services. However, in the last year the quality of their services has decreased to the point where it is annoying to spend the money they ask for the services they provide. I gave them 4 chances in the last 5 months to make sure it was not just a bad coincidence. Will NEVER go back!
Worst of all is their steam room service ($25). For all of the last four times I had to frustratingly battle with at least one of these issues:
- The shower is barely cleaned during the day! I cut myself in a sharp blade left on the shampoo box! It was hard to notice it, and so I got cut while trying to press the shampoo pump. Repeatedly one can find leftover shaving blades and foam from previous clients left untouched in the shower.
- No light in the steam room. They keep saying they will fix it, but 5 months have passed without one.
- Dirty/rusty/mildew tiles in the steam room and left behind towels! Maybe that is why they do not fix the light ? so no one could see how badly the room is maintained
- No clean hair brushes to be found in the designated baskets. I asked 3 times and waited 15 min once I got out of the shower.
- Not to mention lack of ice, any sort of scent in the steam room, fruits, or Jacuzzi.
- Unfriendly staff
For such poor service they should ask for no more than $ 7.00 and make sure to warn people of sharp objects and unclean conditions.

Pros: can't think of any

Cons: dirty, unfriendly

October 18, 2006

I was able to get a day off work and spend it at Amadeus on a Wednesday. It was AWESOME! Since there were few patrons there at 11 am, I had all their attention. Everyone who worked there was great! The ambience is very soothing (a major requirement for me). I endulged in the 3/4 day treatment which included a massage, a facial, lunch, and a mani/pedi. The food was great, too!

Pros: Service, Food, Ambience

Cons: Cost, Off-site Parking

June 06, 2006

It is extremely hard to get an appointment. I was on hold for 15 minutes and that is no exaggeration. On the day of my appointment the lady was half an hour late because of her previous appointment. I could tell she was feeling rushed. She must have been overbooked. By the time she was putting my last coat on my toes you could tell she was really rushing. She left me there to rush to her next client. There I was trying to put on my sandals and when I looked down at my toes the polish had bubbled near the cuticle because she left my feet slanted causing the polish to fall. I was very disappointed with the rush. They had no problem having me wait on the phone or on the day of the appointment. They need to look at their customer service practices more carefully.

Pros: free parking

Cons: dirty and run down

May 10, 2006

I bought my wife a birthday present -- a spa package at Amadeus. She went in for the treatment 2 weeks later. They demanded that she pay them an extra $20 because they had raised their prices. What kind of customer service is that?

Pros: Modern

Cons: Poor Customer Service

March 15, 2006

I needed a back massage so badly while pregnant. And they really did the job with a last minute appointment call from my sister. She managed to fit me in for a 30 min massage well worth it.

January 27, 2006

Si Bella is far and away the better place. This was over rated and a let down over all.

December 30, 2005

Average services at the Paseo Location (I prefer the Green street for services). Too small, though if you can manage to get an appointment before closing, you might be in for a more relaxing/private experience.
Location is definately a plus, and later you can have lunch or dinner at Delmonaco.

Pros: Location, Location, Location

Cons: Decor

July 06, 2005

I do like Amadeus spa for the most part - nice people, nice facilities. Nothing luxury or overly relaxing however. My biggest gripe about the Paseo location is that there is always a mix up or problem with booking... the girls at the front are not well-trained. They have a hard time taking gift certificates. I would recommend the Green Street or even Newport Beach location where they seem much more on the ball.

Pros: Nice ambiance

Cons: Difficult appt system

June 21, 2005

What a NIGHTMARE! I sat in this bare room waiting for my therapist on for 2 of the 3 treatments. The charge was ridiculous - an overall bad pick.

Pros: great lunch

Cons: tardy therapists, spa layout is bad, pedicure area is bad

June 18, 2005

The ambience at the Paseo Colorado location is far better. This location seems outdated and disorganized. Although both locations offer the same menu I've had a much better experience at the other location in Pasadena.

May 29, 2005

This spa overall has wonderful ambience. The salon is open and brightly colored, the stylists are young and hip. The spa is welcoming and warm. The estheticians have wonderful hands for both waxing and facials. Everyone is friendly and I have always had a wonderful experience there!

Pros: parking, the mall

Cons: none :)

May 23, 2005

I live and work in the Pasadena area and discovered 2 gems in the Paseo mall. This spa is quite the treat. The atmosphere is fun, the stylists are young and cool, and a lot of the patrons go to my gym which is a few steps away. I have to say that it's unfortunate that the rest of the mall does not have the same high-end feel of Amadeus and Equinox gym, but that is more of a review with the mall, and not the spa or gym.
