I find it to be a buck or two overpriced per menu item, but I must admit that everything I've ordered, from breakfast to burgers to dessert has been delicious and crafted with care. One of the better diner spots in the area.

i love fred 62. the food is really good, but the place is so trendy i avoid it like the plague on the weekend. go on a wednesday or at an odd time if you want to sit inside. the service is a bit questionable, but lately i think it has been improving. once i sat outside because it was so busy, and it took me 20 minutes and two trips inside to get somebody to take my drink order.

As a fun, hip diner, Fred's 62 is just that. It's menu is decent, though I wouldn't recommend their attempts at any Asian-style food on the menu. What's likeable about Fred's 62 is the late-night hours and the scenester location. If you don't have high expectations for the food, but want to enjoy your company in a fun atmosphere, then eat here.

Fred 62 makes a fabulous breakfast. If you like salmon, order the Fairfax High. Casual atmosphere, friendly service, big menu with lots to choose from.

Fred 62 is one of the quintessential L.A. eateries that everyone has to try once. It is well-known, located in a stylish neighborhood (Los Feliz) and attractive. The decor called to me, my eye being drawn to the mixture of 50's modern and industrial chrome. Almost futuristic enough for the Jetsons, but the Bradys would also be comfortable.

Unfortunately, the service can be cold if not quite rude. Not in the charming and fun way Ed Debevics waiters could be rude, either. Just plain disinterested.

The food ranges from the normal (salads, sandwiches) to the crazy yummy (homemade pop tarts, pancakes with bananas, chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel) to the L.A. hip (tofu scramble). The quality isn't remarkable, though, and food is sometimes cold.

Basically, this is one of those unusual places that you take tourists to. Either that, or a bunch of friends looking for a little atmosphere grab a table and chat for hours, ignoring the food and the service.

Freds is a great to have an early breakfast, some hangover food or settle a late night craving. I don't know what kind of experience other people have had, but the food was great, the sevice was fun and on top of things and the atmosphere was very cool.

CONS:

Fun place to grab a late night breakfast or coffee after visiting a few of the bars around the Loz Feliz area.

The parking can be a pain depending on when you try and go into that area, and sometimes the wait is long.

I think the food is ok, and I really like the Los Feliz area, but I feel the service really isn't as good as it could be, and their prices are pretty high for what I feel they give you. Nice place to go before or after the movies though, just for convenience.
