When I went here to shop for some books, I was surprised with how organized and clean the place is. There's no problem with their customer service.
5Kinokuniya Bookstore must be the nicest if not the only asian (japanese) bookstore in San Francisco. Located in gthe Japanese part of the city, it has a great selection of theme books. Parking is tough - so be prepared - or park in the paid parking structure
5I can find pretty much all of the English-translated comic books at this store. In addition, they also offer Japanese and Chinese comics, magazines, and books. I love this store and can spend hours here.
This is located inside of the Japantown mall. This bookstore is definetly worth a visit if you are in the area.

If you're looking for Japanese books or magazines, this is the place. Located in San Francisco's Japantown, Kinokuniya looks like any other bookstore, except a majority of the books are in Japanese. Even if you cant read the language, youll also find a smaller selection of English books (mainly gift books) as well as books about Japanese or Asian culture written in English. Parking is available in the adjacent parking garage and is validated with a minimum purchase.

This bookstore is pretty large and has a great selection of Japanese magazines and books. Since I can't read Japanese, I just like to browse the aisles and look at pictures and stationary. They do have some English books about Japan too. Great location inside of the Japantown center as well.

I was looking for a Japanese cookbook, and came around this bookstore located inside one of the Japanese boutique malls. They offer a huge selection of Japanese media, and have some very updated magazines, and print material. It's an all-in-one shop for Japanese material. The staff was very accommodating helping me locate the books that I wanted. The bookstore is also very clean, and just a great place to spend during the weekends.

This is ultimate bookstore for all the fans of Japanese magazines out there! Kinokuniya has the largest selection of Japanese magazines in the East Bay, including all the best-selling women's fashion magazines as well as men's fashion magazines. I go there once a month to stock on the most current issue, as well as to check out what other new magazines are there. The price on magazines is very reasonable and affordable. The most current issue of "Non-No" cost around $7, which is cheap considering otherChinese bookstore around Bay Area sell the same magazine for around $10.50. In addition, Kinokuniya has a large selection of Japanese comic books. They would make a perfect gift for school-age kids who can read Japanese.
