""When I got engaged we were already on our way to look at the site where we ended up getting married. I had the guy, the ring, and the site, but what I didn't have was, in my mind the most important part, my dress. Now I live in L.A. County, CA, and my city has three local bridal stores, one is too small (and didn't carry the lines of dresses I wanted), one had no reputation at all, and the other has the worst reputation known to man. So, I decided to drive down to the O.C. and try out Mon Amie. Oh my goodness, my experience was amazing. The consultant who helped me find my dress was amazing too. Now, I am one of those girls who have been planning my wedding since I was 5, and I had a scrapbook of dresses that I liked. She looked at my book and brought me in dozens of beautiful gowns that all fit what I wanted, Ines di Santo, Justina McCaffry, etc. But when I tried on my Reem Acra gown, oh, it was perfect. I knew that when I walked down the isle the people in front of me would say ""Oh, what a beautiful gown."" BUT when I passed them and they saw the sheer back with the embroidery on it, they would say ""WOW!"" I wanted to have a dress that made a statement and left people speechless. And it did. I know that my aunt, my mother, and myself closed the store down that day. The best part was that not once did anyone mention that we were the last people there, we were given the best customer service ever. Then my seamstress was amazing. She was so sweet and kind. She made me look like I was 10 lbs. lighter in that dress. I am so grateful for my experience.""

""I came to Mon Amie all the way from Montana to find my dream wedding dress! I was amazed at the selection of beautiful dresses and your customer service was excellent. Eddie was my bridal consultant and she was so patient and helpful. I think I tried on over 20 gowns, and finally chose the last one, but it was still not exactly perfect. With Eddie's creativeness we created my ""Dream"" wedding dress. I was then handed over to Kristy to help me with my fitting and all the little details. Being that I lived so far away, Kristy and I spent a lot of time on the phone. For months I would receive calls from Kristy weekly, updating me on the status of my dress. At times it was hard for me to be so far away and I had to rely on Kristy to make decisions for me, and she truly did an amazing job! When I finally received my dress and accessories, everything was PERFECT! Kristy was so sweet to me and I felt that she sincerely wanted everything to be perfect for me! Thank you so much to Eddie, Kristy, and all of you at Mon Amie who helped make my wedding the best day of my life!""

We met back in the dressing room, me with my flowy dresses and Natalie with her more fitted and tailored dresses. I began by trying her choices on. The first one was out for sure. The second one, a mermaid cut, low back, sweetheart neckline, strapless with an AMAZING asymmetrical couture bow on the back, took our breaths away. Wow. Natalie knew what she was doing. She said, the minute I see a girl, I know the dress for her. We were sold! Mon Amie is so incredibly professional and they really know what they are doing. They have so many choices when it comes to gowns and veils. I don't know what I would have done without them.

""I was one of lucky military brides that participated in the amazing military bride event that Mon Amie holds every year. It was 1 month before my wedding and I told my mom that we had to check out this event.""\n\n""The night before the big event, my fiance told me that he thought people might be camping over night...to get a dress. I thought he was absurd and I kind of brushed him off. As I sat there at 7pm the night before, the more i thought about it the more I got scared that I wouldn't get to participate. So I told my Mom and Dad that we should drive by just to get a peek. As we pulled up there were about 30 girls with tents and sleeping bags out on the sidewalk. I was in shock!""\n\n""When I awoke the next morning [in my sleeping bag] I saw that the line had increased and that it wrapped around the building until I couldn't see the end of the line. With each girl that left with her dress everybody let out a cheer... When I finally made it inside...I searched and searched through all the racks.""\n\n""The very first one that I tried on fit me like a glove. "I loved my experience at Mon Amie and my dress. I felt so beautiful the day of my wedding and I have so much to thank you for. Especially in my situation where I was planning my wedding from abroad, I didn't have alot of time for dress shopping. So it was great to walk into Mon Amie and walk out with everything... dress, veil, shoes, undergarments.. all taken care of!"

""My gown was definitely my favorite detail about that day. I loved going to try it on during the planning process and did at least 10 times at Mon Amie. Each time everyone treated me like it was my first time there! :-) Choosing the Ines di Santo Betti gown was a truly easy decision, which is really not like me as I am a very indecisive person. It was the first gown I tried on at Mon Amie and I really could not look at another gown without having that one pictured in my mind! It also shares the name Betti with my mom so it has an even more special meaning to me. She thought that was pretty funny too! :-)""

Finding the perfect wedding dress was easy at Mon Amie. I cant say enough great things about Mon Amie Bridal Salon! I had been looking for my wedding gown for a while and had not found ""The Dress"". At Mon Amie, I found THE DRESS just five minutes after telling my bridal consultant, Melissa, what I was looking for. When she walked in the dressing room with the dress, I knew it was the one and my eyes light up. My dress was absolutely gorgeous and I cannot thank you enough!

Mon Amie has a large selection of elegant and sophisticated dresses. The staff are friendly and do their best to accommodate your budget. They do nickle and dime their way and will try to upsell you. The veils and jewelry are overpriced, and alterations and dry cleaning (charged seperately) are expensive. However, their dress selection is lovely.\r\n\r\nI'm a tall girl (6'2"") and selected a silk gown from Amy Michelson of which I actually had to hem. \r\n

I purchased a Pronovias dress from Mon Amie off the rack. They cleaned it and repaired it to restore it to ""new"" quality before I started my fittings. What I liked is that I asked my salesperson not to bring me any dresses that were out of my price range so that I wouldn't be tempted to spend more than I could afford and she didn't. I absolutely loved my dress and it fit beautifully. They have a great selection and dresses in all price ranges.

Planning a wedding in my hometown of Houston while living in Los Angeles was no easy task. Thankfully, finding my perfect gown was not so difficult. After reading rave reviews on CitySearch, I decided to check out Mon Amie. The store happened to be having a trunk show for designer Ines di Santo, and luckily the designer's daughter was there to help guide my selections. When we found THE dress, I wanted to share the experience with my parents in Texas so the store owner kindly snapped and emailed photos to them. We bought the dress that day and it was smooth sailing from there. Thanks for all of your help!

I got married to the love of my life just about 2 months ago. It was the very best day of my life. Even though those few little things fell threw the cracks, like they always do, my husband and I got through it together. We got married at the Long Beach Museum of Art, overlooking the ocean, on a clear day, at sunset. We could not have asked for a better day. \n\nAndrew asked me to marry him in London just over a year ago, and that year went by fast! So many people to meet with, shops to look in, appointments to hold, food to taste, and addresses to get. But the first and easiest thing I did was find my dress. My mom, sister and I walked into your store, was greeted right away by a friendly associate, and I began to try on dresses. It did not take too long to figure out what shape I liked best on me, and the fact that the designer of the dresses I liked best was in the store that day to help, was a god send. He knew exactly what dresses to put on me, and even what color would work best in pictures! And he was right. I choose a Stephan Yearick gown in platinum and I could not have been happier with how it turned out. The seamstress did an amazing job making it fit perfectly to my body. The dress was easy to move around in, easy to sit in, and it looked so great next to my bridesmaids, who were wearing cranberry. I received so many compliments on it. Thank you so much for making that aspect of my wedding easy and uncomplicated.\n\nMrs. Nicole P.

I have been searching for my dream dress for months now with no luck. This past weekend I attended the trunk show at Mon Amie featuring amazing designer Amy Michelson and I FINALLY found my dress!! I got to meet the designer herself and she was wonderful!!! They listened to exactly what I wanted and I felt on top of the world when I found my dress. The designer even made me my own hand drawn original sketch! It was overall such an experience. My friends and mother felt welcomed too. I was able to find the accessories and shoes that matched beautifully with my dress! My consultant was amazing and I would recommend this experience to anyone. They have such a selection and the people are so nice. I love the fact that I could meet the actual designer of my dress too. Thank you so very much to Mon Amie and Amy Michelson!

Don't use their alterations service!!
Nice customer service but I do not recommend getting alterations at this salon. Very last minute and too many dresses flow through this shop for them to pay attention to details. They did not finish my bustle which was only discovered at my reception!

I went to Mon Amie because their selection is incredible and they carry plus sized dresses to try on which I could not find at any of the 6 other stores I went to. My first experience was actually very nice. Heidi, my sales person, was very sweet and helpful, not pushy at all. I feel in love with a dress and searched high and low to find it somewhere else. I could not find it without leaving the state so I decided to try my luck with Mon Amie, even after hearing less than stellar reviews. This was a huge mistake. From the moment I purchased the dress, my family and I were treated with little to no respect or courtesy. I was told my dress would be in sometime in late December or early January. I called the second week of January when I hadn't heard yet and was told my dress was in and that someone had called me. I never received that call but let it slide. I made an appointment to have it "presented" to me. The woman on the phone told me to bring all my accessories as they would "let me know if everything matched" and help me pick out more. Apparently I can't choose things to match my own wedding dress in their minds, including the veil I purchased there. I then received a call the next day letting me know my dress was in and to set up an appointment. Excellent communication clearly.
I received a phone call a few weeks later as a reminder for my "presentation" appointment. They quoted me the wrong name, date and time. This happened for every single reminder phone call I received, with a different name each time.
When I went for my first fitting the problems really began. I had been quoted between $400-$500 for alterations. I went for my fitting and was quoted $700 for alterations, including 28 bustles. Now, I did need it taken in a small amount as well as hemmed and it had a lace overlay with detail and beads... but $700 seemed ridiculous, as did 28 bustles. I was told this was the only way to bustle the dress. The seamstress that helped me kept telling me about every alteration "this is the only way it can be done." Even the woman who set up my next appointment was shocked at the price and told me "you must be having a lot of custom work done." I was having none. On the way home I decided I was getting ripped off and called back to see if I could take the dress somewhere else to be altered. I WAS HUNG UP ON! I was then told I'd have to ask the manager. The manager told me to come in and we'd see what we could do to alter the price. She never answered my question. Instead she lead me to believe they were my only choice.
I came in and saw the head seamstress, a truly wonderful woman who found a way to bustle the dress with only 9 bustles, cutting $250 out of the alterations. She also agree to press the dress and veil for the price the first seamstress had quoted me, HALF the price she quoted me. Clearly, something fishy was going on here.I asked what else I could possibly be charged for. She told me that I'd only be charged if I drastically changed my appearance affecting the fit, such as losing or gaining weight. I was told I would work with her exclusively from now on.
I came in for my second/final fitting. The first seamstress was there again, still telling me that things could only be done one way, even if they'd already been done another way. The brought the head seamstress in who was happy to make the changes I requested, like bringing the top in just a tiny bit more. She then told me it didn't fit right because I obviously had lost a reasonable amount of weight. I had actually gained a few pounds and offered to provide proof of this to avoid being charged more. She did not find this funny. We agreed to have the top taken in and everything pressed and I'd be back in 2 weeks to pick it up, 2 days before my wedding.
I arrived to pick up my dress. They brought it out and lifted the large blue bag they store it in up so I could see it. All I could see were the wrinkles and strings everywhere. There were strings and beads hanging off all over it. They kept telling me the wrinkles would "fall right" once it was on my body. I asked them to repress it and trim the strings. They took it away and brought it back about 15 minutes later while I expressed my extraordinary dissatisfaction with the staff. They brought it back. I looked the same to me but they were clearly ready to rush me out of the store so we left.
I spent 20 minutes on the day of my wedding trimming strings and resewing beads to my dress. We rented a steamer which in 10 minutes took out a majority of the wrinkles in my "pressed" dress. I'm going to send this review to Mon Amie directly and ask for my money back for the alterations because no one should pay that much for that poor quality. It brought me to tears to see my beautiful dress so poorly cared for.
Please spare yourself the heartache and go anywhere else.

Rave reviews for Mon Amie. Yes, they have a zillion dresses. Yes, they are the #1 place to go. I have to say, the CUSTOMER SERVICE was way above anything I would have expected. Went just to look and got sucked in by family pressure and bought a dress. On the ride home, had buyer's remorse and called begging them not to put the order through. They made room for me the next day (a very busy Saturday) to come back. And I found THE dress. Just went to pick it up today. The designer had misinterpreted the special instructions on the order (I could see how it may have gone either way). I was freaking out, but the manager, Kelly Goodridge, and the alterations guru, Esmy, saved the day. Not only are they making the corrections at no charge, but they are doing it in just 3 days. Catastrophe averted. Not only was everyone very nice, professional and calming - more important than you think - but the only thing that mattered to Kelly was that I received the dress exactly the way I envisioned it. They say that the wedding business is a racket, but the kind ladies at Mon Amie proved them wrong and really showed me 5 star service and I couldn't be more thankful!

Pros: Selection, 5-Star Customer Service

Cons: NONE!

I loved Mon Amie! Theyre selection is awesome and theyre staff were always friendly to my family and I. They had no problem that I wanted to try on 100 dresses, I never felt rushed or pressured to purchase, I scheduled 2 appointments before buying my dress and no one complained that I was taking my time. Because theyre so busy, you have to schedule an appointment and if you're budget is under $1000, its not likely you'll find a gown there. I worked with Bell, who was amazing. She was very honest in her opinion of how I looked in the dresses, and learned my taste quickly, helping me filter through all the dresses and accessories. They even didnt mind that I wanted to try on other dresses [months after I'd already purchased my gown]. \r\nI would definately recommend this store to the bride looking to find her dream dress. Just know that you should schedule an appointment first (even if its calling just before you drive over-- they were very accomidating w/me) and know that the dresses are couture, so I doubt they have dresses under 1000.\r\nGood luck finding your dress! \r\noh yeah, as an added bonus, i also got to meet the designer of my dress here (he sketched me in my dress!) and we even met Stephen Yearick, who custom designed a gown for my mom, using one of his samples as a template!

I loved my experience at Mon Amie. Everyone was so nice, very welcoming, and warm. Belle helped me select the perfect dress, and was very patient with me. She was also wonderful at listening to what I liked, and finding the perfect dresses and accessories to fit with my criteria. She went above and beyond, and was able to help me craft a really beautiful look I might not have found on my own. I couldn't be happier with my experience at Mon Amie, and with Belle. (I hated the process before coming here!) Mon Amie elevated the exhausting process of searching for a wedding gown into an amazing and special experience for me. Selecting a dress here was just like the best, most elaborate, most fun game of dress up ever, and they completely made sure it was amazing and welcoming. just wonderful.

Its really sad to see so many bad reviews. My salesperson was awesome. She stayed within my budget and was very knowledgeable. She was just awesome and she even convinced the manager to knock off more than $200 from the price tag. Let me give those of you contemplating this store a recommendation go with Natalie. Not once did I feel rushed or talked down to. Considering this is a high end store and my budget was $1000 I'm sure it would have been easy for her to be rude to me but my overall experience was what invisioned in my head. She was wonderful, give this store a chance.

My daughter and I were amazed at the sheer number of beautiful gowns at Mon Amie. My friends had told me how great this store is but it was even better than I imagined. Our sales lady really understood what we were looking for. They were so nice because we kept finding more gowns to try on and then at the end my daughter chose the very first gown she tried on. It was so much fun. I also found a dress for myself that I love. We're bringing back the bridal party soon to look at bridesmaids. We highly recommend this store to anyone who wants a really beautiful couture gown.

Everything was great until i bought my dress. I had my fitting and the seamstress told me to lose weight!!! I am a size 4!!! She just didn't want to do the job! I should have taken my dress and left. To make a long story short - The staff made mistakes and never owned up to them. They lost my veil! When they found it, it wasn't the right style. They kept telling me it was right, like I couldn't tell!! Horrible service, and you pay top price. Be forewarned - Do not go here!!! The good reviews are probably written by the staff.

Cons: dishonest staff, no attempts to make-up for mistakes

.

I would advise you to go here to try on dresses and decide what you want - it has a great selection. However, once you purchase your dress things go downhill FAST! I am a forgiving person, but this place made SO many mistakes and never once took responsibility for them. They really destroyed what should have been some special experiences, and greatly contributed to my stress leading up to the wedding. \r\n\r\nThere were a lot of small issues (it took them THREE tries to get my veil ordered correctly, they lost my hair jewelry, etc. All forgivable).\r\n\r\nWhat I cannot forgive and the reason I tell my friends not to shop here: They altered my dress completely wrong the first time around and tried to blame ME. Originally, my dress was perfect except it needed to be let out about a quarter inch. When I came in just a few weeks later, the dress was literally 6in too small and couldn't even zip halfway up. They tried to tell me I gained weight or I was bloated. I was with my mom that day and I was in tears in the dressing room because they kept telling me there was no way to fix it and I needed to lose weight. WE EVEN ASKED THEM TO GET A TAPE MEASURE, as they had my original measurements to compare, and they WOULD NOT DO IT! I didn't gain weight, THEY screwed up and tried to blame the customer. Instead of having a nice day with my mom, I had the worst day of all my wedding planning.\r\n\r\nI had to wait another 3 wks for them to alter it again and pick up the dress with only 1 wk to go before my wedding. What a nightmare. I was completely stressed out, I couldn't stop wondering what I'd do if they screwed up again, etc.\r\n\r\nLuckily they got it right, but offered NO apologies and NO break on the price, and I got out of there with the dress and veil and will never go back.\r\n\r\nJudging from all the negative reviews, I'd say this place has really gone downhill and needs to make some major changes with customer service. Until then, buy at your own risk. Please save yourself the stress

Went to Mon Amie in April to look at dresses. Happened to be a trunk show and the sales person, Selavi, said you get 10% off and get custom measured by the designer, Sarah Houston, to have a custom fit gown. I liked one of her gowns and since I'm a small person, I knew having a custom fit gown was the way to go. So, the designer took a ton of measurements (should to should, should to apax, apax to apax, etc.). Went in to try on the dress and was EXTREMELY disappointed!! The bodice of the dress looked 2-3 sizes too big!! It looked like Sarah didn't take into account any of the measurements. So, we contacted Sarah and Mon Amie. Mon Amie called my mom and was extremely rude on the phone and said that we signed the contract and have to pay for alterations. Sarah said that there's no such thing as a custom gown without doing a muslin pattern and several fittings! MON AMIE TOTALLY MISREPRESENTED THIS TO US BY SAYING IT WOULD BE A CUSTOM FIT!! So, we took the dress to an independent tailor and she was shocked the dress came out this way taking that many measurements. She would have to undo the beading, take the bodice completely apart and redo the beading. This is ridiculous! This wasn't the first time. I should've known better. For my cousins wedding we got our bridesmaid dresses there. They measured me and told me I was a size 8. I'm a size 0 normally. I disputed this and they ordered me a 6. Of course it was still too big. None of the dresses fit anyone. Mon Amie orders them big on purpose so that they get money doing alterations. On top of that, they try to sell you stuff while they are altering your dress. This place is a scam. They have nice sales people to make you think you're getting good service and then they completely screw up your order. I do not recommend going here!! Even our tailor says they fix a ton of their orders! UPDATE: my dad talked to a different person and they are fixing the dress for free BUT we shouldn't have had to go through all this trouble.

I went to this store because I thought it looked really nice and big from the outside and I thought they would have good service and a large selection of gowns, however once I went inside I was dissapointed. Even with an appointment the consultants were difficult and wouldn't listen to what kind of style and details I liked. I know all bridal shops only allow five or so gowns per visit, but not when they wont even help you find what you want. They used up all of my dresses on gowns I didn't even like! I left unhappy. My sister has made several other appointmnets for me that im looking forward to visit but for sure ill never go back to this store and wont recommend it to any of you.

I went there last week, with AN APPOINTMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First of all i had to wait 20 minutes to be greated and helped. The consultant that was helping me told me i better be specific about the styles i want to try on beacuse there are limited number of dresses that i would be helped with.Guess what , that was the first store i had gone to, I had no idea what would look nice on me.To make the story short I walked out with out trying on any thing. This was a huge day for me but they manged to taint it with a sour note, I will never ever go back to that store or let any of my friends to do so. I went to other stores and was treated better and ended up buying at a higher end store for a great price. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

To dear Mon Amie: I promised my self that the minute i get home after your ridiculous service I would totally burn some time informing people of how sloppy i was treated in this store. I came to this store so excited with my family and i brought some pictures so i could show to whoever is going to help me. My consultant was so naive pushing me to dresses that are so expensive and is not a style I'm looking for. I even told her my budget was $2500 and she keeps on pushing me to buy $5,000.00. My family knew i was upset and just told the consultant that if there is any other that are similar to the style i was looking for.. and she totally played dumb that there is nothing else she could show me. I felt so insulted and their selection are so limited. Please if you at least want to enjoy the experience of dress shopping. dont even waste your time going here and do yourself a BIG BIG FAVOR.

let me start my review about saying something upfront - they're rude. My mom flew all the way from Korea just to be with me in this very special event in my life. My mom can hardly speak english but she tried to tell the consultant that was helping me if i can try on just one more dress from Anne Barge since she is only here for a while.. the consultant laughed at her discretely with the other consultants and said we could come back to make another appointment - they were the WORST! They just lost $5600 worth of sales. i ended up buying my dress in a couture store in pasadena - i stayed in their store for almost 3 hours and they never complained as if they want to kick me out. pls dont go to this store PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE MISERY.

I loved my experience at Mon Amie. They helped me find my beautiful gown by really listening to what I wanted and also realizing that my mother wanted a different type of gown for me. My consultant Belle was able to make us both happy. Everything worked out well and I really loved Jenny who did the alterations on my gown. She tailored it perfectly for me. I would highly recommend this store!

I would not recommend Mon Amie! The lady at the front (store manager) was not very nice, in fact she was VERY RUDE! I felt like I was not welcome and that they did not want to help me. Seems like they were in it for the sale only - forgetting the most important part where they provide you with customer service. The sales associates remind me of wolf-hungry car salesmen. They were all rude, and $$ signs were all written on their foreheads. They did not even size me correctly and when I corrected them they gave me unnecessary attitude for THEIR mistake!! The dresses are over priced, and if I got good (or even acceptable service) I would not mind the price tag. I should not have gone here, I had A HORRIBLE experience and don't really look forward to seeing them when my dress comes in. After the dress was paid for they could care less about talking with me or helping me like they had when I first walked in the door. Great Salon as far as choices, HORRIBLE customer service!!!

I went and had an appointment, showed up I wasnt even acknowledge, stood there for 5 mins & I asked someone for help. The gal said, just a moment, I waited 10 MORE minutes. Then I said to another person, I was waiting and she said to hold on. Granted I was under dressed, but I had $6,000 to spend on a dress. I waited 25 minutes and then left. YOUR LOSS!

If you still want to buy your dress here after reading this review I have two suggestions: 1. When they ask you your wedding date give them a fake date MONTHS ahead of the real one to allow for mistakes. This dates sets the delivery of your dress. 2. Do not leave without a swatch sample of your dress!
It has taken me 6 months to be able to write this. I was looking for a specific designer dress. It was crazy-extravagant, but, hey. "Oh yes, we have it!" I drive 1.5 hrs through LA traffic to try it on. "Oh, we must have just sold it." That should have been my first red flag. Eventually I found another one I loved. When it FINALLY came in MONTHS late it was the wrong color. Off white. They tried and tried to convince me it was all MY fault- the lighting, silk-white vs. bone white, etc. Hey, a white wedding dress is a white wedding dress, right? The next time I came for a fitting I brought the swatch (they made me beg and pay for- but...) showed them and guess what? It was white. Eating crow now. Still they tried to say it was a mistake in the swatch. In the end I called the designers boutique in LA (wish I'd known before) and got the manager on the phone. I handed my cell to the store manager who assured her that yes, the dress DOES come in white-white. Of course, Mon Amie had now reduced their hours for the holidays (which they had NOT told me when alterations were discussed). So I am driving to O.C. days before Xmas crying all the way. The only thing they did was overnight the dress when it FINALLY came 3 days before leaving for my wedding, so I could do the alterations MYSELF! In the end I loved my dress, but had a terrible experience. This is the Worst review I have ever written.

This place has lots of gowns, however, they are really overpriced, that includes their outlet with old, dirty, filthy dresses. Imagine their outlet with dresses from the 1999 to about 2002, old styles, missing buttons, dirty, worn out, however their prices ranging from $800 to $2,200. Totally not worth it.

The consultant that I met, Nikki, was truly LAZY, she let me tried on all the dresses myself and she just sat outside waiting. Some of the dresses I tried on had cathedral trains, which were long, heavy, and pretty tough to manage putting on all by myself, however, she did not even asked if I needed help. The funny thing is that whenever she saw another staff walking by, she would quickly stood up and pretended she was helping me with the dresses.

She was pushy and rushing all the way through, which really threw me off. After I tried on a few dresses in one section, I was looking into another section, and she literally told me that "you have about 20 minutes left, so take your picks, and try them". I was totally shocked by her unfriendly statement, and I decided to thank her and walked out. I have been to a couple other places, and have experienced much better, friendlier, and more helpful customer services. Therefore, based on my experience, I highly advise you not to come here and waste your time and money.

I wanted to thank you again for the beautiful gown I received during the last Military Bride giveaway. I was one of lucky military brides that participated in the amazing military bride event that Mon Amie holds every year. The very first one that I tried on was the one...the one that I would have pictures of for the rest of my life. Even in all the chaos it was a great experience and a wonderful thing that Mon Amie did. Our wedding was wonderful due to the kindness of so many people. Thank you for your generosity. This review is for both Mon Amie bridal salon and its newest business, the Mon Amie Outlet. I worked with Chesson Duncan at the salon and Ryan Nelson at the outlet. \r\n\r\nI shopped for a bridal gown 6/08. I am paying for my own wedding, and the budget is small. I went to Mon Amie by myself, to try on dresses without the pressure of my mother, friends, etc weighing in. The greeting I received at Mon Amie was sincere and gracious. I was introduced to Chesson, who actually listened to my viewpoint and budget constraints. She never tried to upsell me on a dress, or ask me to try on a style that I didn't like. She offered honest impressions of the dresses I tried on...if something wasn't flattering, she politely let me know. For those with a higher budget, the sky is the limit. But even for those of us with a smaller budget there are options. \r\n\r\nAfter trying on some beautiful dresses at the Mon Amie salon, I wasn't ready to settle on anything. Chessson suggested the Mon Amie Outlet, which opened recently in 2008, and is connected to the main shop. I didn't expect much, frankly. \r\n\r\nBoy, was I wrong. If you can fit into a sample size (size 6 - 10), this is truly the hidden gem of the OC bridal industry, especially for those of us on a budget. The manager, Ryan Nelson, was friendly and helpful beyond belief. Both Ryan and Chesson showed me several gorgeous dresses within my budget ($1000 and under). I ended up purchasing an absolutely beautiful gown that requires just slight alteration (the normal alterations done to any wedding gown). I was able to get a dress of high quality fabric and great design for a fraction of its retail price. \r\n\r\nMon Amie was professional, friendly, and cooperative. If you think that you can't afford a high quality wedding gown, stop by the Mon Amie outlet and give it a shot. I stumbled upon it and ended up with a gorgeous dress, *under my budget*...what else can you ask when planning a wedding?

Pros: Service, Quality Gowns, Low Pressure Sales

.

I really loved my experience at Mon Amie. I thought that everyone was really very nice and helpful. The selection they have is amazing and everything went smoothly without any problems. They do get very busy on Saturdays... I went in on a weekday to find all my other things I needed and they spent hours with me to find just the perfect accessories. My mother found a beautiful gown to wear for our wedding at the store. We really like the store and we recommend it to all our friends.

I loved Mon Amie from the minute I walked through the doors. So many beautiful gowns and my consultant found me the perfect one. I had to get it quickly because my wedding was in a few months and everything was great!
They all came through for me and I couldn't be more pleased. I tell all my friends to go there. It's the best!!!

10 days before my wedding and still don??t have my dress?PLEASE READ.

Let me start by saying that it saddens and disappoints me to write this review because the Mon Amie experience put such a great deal of stress on me during this special time. My biggest regret was that I didn??t pay attention to these things in the beginning. I write this with the most fairness, and no exaggeration.

The quality of service at Mon Amie is not upscale as they insist to be. It will be evident as you walk through the doors- dirty purple carpet, bad lighting in the fitting rooms, water in paper cups, and women wearing pantyhose in opened toed shoes (no offence, but a big thing when you are relying on people to give you fashion and dress advice.) They will shower you will kindness, ooos and ahhhs, and compliments on how amazing the dress looks- all very flattering but NOT the expertise you really need to hear when buying a gown for your wedding.

Here some specifics from my experience. After the sale was made, I was told the dress would be ready at the end of February. And that I would be called in advance since it would involve travel on my part. No phone call?ever. So I started calling them weekly- being left on the phone for over 10 minutes at some points by young women with little professionalism. One week I called as found out my dress was there (no one contacted me after they promised they would). An expensive plane ticket later to see the dress (since I little time)- the dress had many issues. Too many to write here really.

I got a lot of apologies from Tauni (the director) for the ??issues?, but still a hefty tab for all the alterations. I was promised the next fitting would be smooth and perfect. (again, lots of smiles, apologies and false promises. ) Round three and another plane ticket later- the dress still not right- 10 days before my wedding! They said give them a few hours and they??ll make it right- Another false promise. They didn??t even call me- so I showed up before closing only to find it still wasn??t right. I cried (not something I do often).

Louise (the alterations specialist) did her best to fix the obvious issues. But only took off $75 out of alterations. A small fraction of what I??ve paid to them, and had to pay in time off work, last minute flights (which I was assured they would give plenty of notice for travel after expressing many concerns about this.), and trying to come up with other solutions.

DO NOT go to Mon Amie if you want peace of mind and solid service. It??s unpredictable and not a risk anyone spending decent money on a dress should take. I fault management for failing on very basic business principles to make sure their employees are providing a certain level of detail, care and attention to customers giving them good business. Mistakes happen- but not as consistently as my experience did. And NOT ONCE- accepting some responsibility. The managers Joan and Tauni will act like they care- but will do nothing in the end other than apologize and say they appreciate your thoughts.

Its possible you will sad your money and bridal experience was spent at place like this. A BIG RISK to take.

BE CAREFUL AND YOU'LL HAVE A GREAT EXPERIENCE. I had heard the stories about Mon Amie and so I was cautious, but their selection can't be beat and if you work with the right people, you'll be happy. Tawny, a manager, and Selavi, a consultant were the two I worked with when buying the dress and I recommend both. Selavi (pronounced like Cest'la vie) was not pushy or demanding at all. I have continued to work with Tawny through picking up my dress and alterations. She has been great with me, honest and caring. i'm sure they get used to the Newport Beach crowd with unlimited budgets and maybe it's hard to get excited over a sale under $5000, but they are real people. the sample sales are great, alterations are pricey but are supposed to be with the most highly skilled in the industry (I can comment on this soon). Tawny helped me get a great veil at an amazing price during a trunk show, also. I was careful with the contract and making sure that it stated every SINGLE thing. When I picked up my dress in December I would sign off only for taking the dress, not that I was happy with the condition it was in (it still hadn't been cleaned per the contract) so that they couldn't say later on that I had gotten it dirty at home. They may try to get away with something shady, so be careful! Get everything in writing, and you will be fine. I think the accessories are overpriced, but the sample sales and trunk shows are great! - Ask for Selavi if you make an appt.!

Pros: Big store, an ""aisle"" to see you dress while walking, big dressing rooms, manager Tawny, associate Selavi

Cons: Some inexperienced/rude younger salespeople (a couple snotty high school girls)

I was so excited when I walked into Mon Amie and saw all the gorgeous gowns they have. The hardest part was just making the final decision on which one to buy!! Our consultant was very nice and helpful and of course I chose the dress of my dreams. They did a marvelous job altering my gown perfectly for me and I highly recommend them. My mother and my bridesmaids also found their gowns at Mon Amie. Our wedding was really wonderful and I didn't have to worry about my dress at all.

Cons: busy on Saturdays

I was so excited to get the discount on my wedding gown and bridesmaids. I was inexperienced enough not to realize that the 20 year old that helped me would reflect the service overall. Inexperience and discounted service was not what I would have chosen. I wish I had paid full price elsewhere and gotten what I paid for.
