They ahev taken what was a great fish show and turned it into a poor theatrical performance.
thier fantasia show really stinks!! If you buy reserved seating then this is up farther away fro the fish :in the nose bleed section" and they have an actress that creates an environment where your kids will feel left out! The managemnt has appearently been feeling like they needed to change things and it really is the wrong direction!

The Shedd Aquarium is in such a architecturally beautiful building with huge columns lining the front of the building. They have the best sealife exhibits that I know of in the Chicago area. My kids really enjoy looking in at all the different tanks that contain all these different seacreatures. They have a great blue iguana exhibit which are wonderful to see especially since they are an endangered species.

PROS: Beautiful buidling, wonderal exhibits
CONS: none

I visited Shedd Aquarium during the Labour Day Weekend,I was struck by the way the animal-care staff interacted with the dolphins and the amazing natural behaviors of dolphins. I learned a lot about the aquatic world including beluga whales, sea otters, and penguins.there were different varities of Crabs,Fishes and Turtles. In Shedd Aquarium's historic galleries.
I experienced a quick trip around the world.in the Amazon Rising area I experienced a whole year of Amazon seasons and saw the changes that yearly floods bring to the river and the forest that surrounds it.I encounterd with dozens of sharks at Wild Reef exibit. It was definitely worth the money.

I thought I had seen an aquarium, until I saw this one. A huge and spacious devotion to marine life that inspired further curiousity and intrigue. They have a dolphin show, penguins, and pretty much any fish you could dream of imagining - all housed within eye catching architecture and tanks. This is definitely worth seeing at least once.

Located right on the water's edge, the tanks overlook Lake Michigan and seem to go on forever. Their Beluga whale exhibit is fantastic, and I love the otters. They have a 'free admission' day once a month, but often the crowds are too much. Spend the admission and go on another day. It's worth it.

I took my very young daughter there to entertain her even though she is very young. The range of fish that they have there is awesome. My daughter who is only 5 months old was fascinated and could not take her eyes off of the tank windows. She even started babbling to the fish and put her arms out as if to reach for them as she must ahve wanted to "cuddle" them like she does out dog. Its a great place to take your children for an afternoon of entertainment. The admission prices are really worth the smiles and fascination that your kids show at the aquarium.

PROS: lots to see
CONS: admission a little expensive

I went here as a chaperone on a field trip and was amazed how great this place was! They had the best live shows with so many interesting water animals. Everybody, from kids to adults, was interested and enjoyed themselves. I will definitely make more trips to this beautiful aquarium!

This aquarium has thousands of varietys of aquatic animals. The shows are great - the marine mammal show is spectacular. The Wild Reef special exhibit shows kids many sharks, and other reef life. We will go back here! I hadn't been since I was a kid and I was very impressed!
