Smith Mountain Lake State Park

The Smith Mountain Lake park is really nice. It is very clean and the beach area is well taken care of. It is never overly crowded and the beach goers appear to respect everyone else.

Haven't been here in awhile but always had great family fun when we went. Beaches/Swimming/Boating/Fishing/Camping, you name it they have it. All on Smith Moutain Lake. You can not beat the peacefulness you will feel while you're here. Great places everywhere for a picnic. We usually went as a church group and had plenty of places for the kids to play. Some activities do have a charge associated with them. Bring cash with you!

We camped here overnight and had a blast. The camp site was a little rocky, but not too bad. The bathrooms were typical camp bathrooms - a little stinky, but not terribly bad. The beach was a lot of fun. There was also hiking and boating, for those interested.
