When they opened their new location on La Cienega BLVD I was very excited because I love Hot WINGS!. I was even more excited when I found out they Deliver until 12Am. When I called in they guy that answered the phone was sooooooooooooooooooo RUDE! In spite of his rudeness I placed My order. All was well until he told me it would take 4hours for them to deliver to me even though i'm less than 4 blocks away.Even though i know they must have a lot of orders I still felt they should have more people delivering. I felt like 4 hours was just too damn long to wait for food when my family and I were already starving so i canceled my order. You would think he would understand and be polite but instead he hung up in my face!

In effort to give them a chance to redeem themselves for the Shi**y service I placed an order in person a few weeks later. The very same person that hung up on me was making passes at me! And on top of that he got my order wrong! The wings were shi**y and they service was even shittier! For all who want good wings. Try Hot Wing Cafe on Melrose.

Well I can honestly say that I won't be taking the drive to either of their locations for Wings any time soon nor their new 3rd location. I am sincerely disappointed that their wing quality has deteriorated. Those who recently posted negative comments unfortunately are correct in their assessment. All the glowing reviews in 2005/early 2006 were definitely earned but now so are the negative ones. I hope the owners-Akida, Bryan & Jimmy pay attention. It was a grassroots effort that brought you glowing reviews & contributed to your success. I'd hate for you guys not to make the Best of....list in 2008 but unless you can return to your original recipe for success...quality and service I won't be voting for you this year. Anyone who has eaten here from when they opened can attest to the decline in quality of wing, dry-overcooked, miniature wings and definitely poor service. I would suggest to those who have supported these guys from the beginning to be honest in their assessment so as to encourage these guys to go back to what made them a success to begin with. To those new to this joint..only the flavors are still good. It just used to be so much better. If you don't walk in with any expectations you won't be dissapointed but if you read any of the glowing reviews-YOU WILL-because you are not eating the same food we ate back then. Sorry you are at least 1-1/2 years too late. The reviews dated from Late 2006 to now are very true they are not that good anymore. There is a new wing franchise that is growing faster than a Starbucks & is going to give these guys a run for their money. The flavors are not as good but the quality of the wing is far superior. If you don't pay attention guys you won't go past 5 yrs in business. I'm harsh because I care & MISS your GOOD WINGS.

In my opinion, Hoagies & Wings is NOT a Best of Citysearch contender. It's interesting that so many of the glowing reviews of this place are by 'users' who only have the one review.

I tried this place once for takeout and once for delivery (large order). Both times were before they opened the location on Roberston. I would say overall, the wings are just "good". They are made fresh, so they are not soggy like some wings. They do take a while to make though, so plan on waiting 15-20 minutes. They were late for the delivery too.

I have not tried any of the Hoagies, so I can't comment on that.

I have never made a practice to comment, but I'm so underwhelmed, I actually took the time to sign up just to be heard. I am a HUGE fan of hot wings...HUGE! Just moved here and chose this spot solely based on the "Best of City Search" claim to fame, and apparently I know no better. Le Cordon Bleu grad? I have never seen anything quite so misrepresented. Hands down, and not one ounce of lie, these aren't any bigger than just an inch....an INCH!! The taste is below bland and beyond blah. I emphatically tell you...Do not waste your time. Trust me.

I have been a customer of Hoagies and Wings since it opened. They have some of the best food in town. The wings are delicious (especially the honey barbeque) and they have great sandwiches too. If you are having a get together, fight party or any other social gathering I highly recommend getting a variety of wing flavors and some hoagies!!!

It's not all the hype that it deserves. People have different ideas and tastes for food and me and my friends didn't like the place, serivce or the food. The orders take forever and it seems like they buy cheap chicken. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone

this place is pretty good. i've tried all the wing flavors, but i haven't tried the hoagies so i can't rate that aspect...but i would give the wings maybe a 7 out of 10. the sauce is kind of thin (looks like they mix some kind of powder into the sauce??) and the quality of chicken that they use is below what i buy at a supermarket like ralph's (yep - ralph's has wings, foster farms). the guys that work here are genuinely nice and even though their orders take longer than you'd like, they have newspapers and tv, so it's cool.

i moved back to cali in 2004 after 7 years on the east coast, and i couldn't find any place out here that had really incredible wings. so, i bought a deep fryer and i've been making my own wings for about a year. i would put a bowl of my wings up against these guys anyday and i would always win. you might say something like homemade is always better than restaurant, but can you make a better burger at home than you can get at father's office?

like most places they probably tried harder and the wings were better when they first opened up, but seriously, if hoagies and wings are considered the best wings in socal then that just isn't saying much. look closer at the quality of chicken that they use. if they are going to charge $8 for a dozen wings, maybe they should spend the extra money on chicken that isn't so stringy. they are ok, but maybe people who love this place just haven't ever had really good wings. i go to pizza places that LA people recommend as having great pies, and some of them are decent, but some of them are not even as good as domino's in nyc. on the flip side, when i tell people to go to grimaldi's in brooklyn, they are always blown away by the pizza because it's so much better than they expected. i think i need to open up a wing joint here and put my money where my mouth is.

anyway, like i said, i like this place. but let's not get carried away by the wings. they are not great.

My boyfriend and I have searched far and wide in the great city of Los Angeles for the best wings. Some were too tough, some were too dry, some were not hot enough and some just were inedible. I came across this review on citysearch and was a little skeptic. I tried another wing place with a friend of mine that was recommended by other users and it was horrible. But, I decided to give it one more shot, just when we thought there were no good wing places in LA. I ordered a huge order of hot wings and a large order of their garlic fries. I have to admit, this has got to be the best wing place in LA, actually one of the best wing places I've ever been to! The sauce was perfect, just hot enough, with a kick. Some places skimp on the sauce, so I ordered an extra side of sauce and when I opened the box, the wings were perfectly drenched with just the right amount. The fries were incredible and everything was still hot when I brought it home. The service? Phenomenal. Very friendly, hip, young staff and helpful. I highly recommend this place to everyone. The only con? I wish they had plasma tv's and ice cold beer on tap.

It's to be expected that not everyone has the same tastes. But to imply that everyone who disagrees with you must be a liar or imposter is going a bit too far. How do we know that an overexaggerated negative review isn't the product of a competitor?

Anyways....

I have visited this little hole-in-the-wall with LaTruchaLoca: I'm his wife. (BTW: check his other reviews; he's not a one-time poster trying to support a relative.) He loves the lemon pepper wings. For me, it's a toss up between those and the mild hot wings. I later brought a girlfriend here and we sat out on noisy Venice Blvd. with an assortment of four different types of delicious wings. The staff went out of their way to serve us, even asking if we wanted more napkins or refills on our sodas. Which no one would expect when you're sitting outside a cheap joint drinking out of a paper cup. He was a complete gentleman and we appreciated it. Yeah...it took a while to get our wings. But they were hot and delicious, so that was forgiveable. My friend took a friend of hers later, and she also raved about the wings.

They deliver, so I had another girlfriend over one day and we ordered wings and I got a steak hoagie special. Now she's hooked as well. I like the steak hoagie, but it's not as good as the one at Al's Sandwich Shop on Robertson.

This place may not be for everyone, but I've been there several times, observing the diverse customers happily walking away with their bounty of wings and such. It's refreshing to see an assuming wing shack get great reviews, and that some people aren't afraid to step foot out of the westside.

I decided to check this place out after reading all the glowing reviews and how a Harvard grad and some Cordon Blu graduates owned it. The people who made my highly over rated hoagie and wings combo looked more like Pep Boys graduates. My theory is that friends of the owners wrote these reviews because the food was not that tastey and it took a long time to receive even though it was not busy. I think from now on I'll try places that only have bad reviews. I would NEVER eat there again or recommend this to any of my friends. Don't be fooled by all the misleading reviews.

There's certainly a huge buzz about this place and you'll probably be quite surprised initially when you pull up to find that it's just a curbside "shack"-style joint. It's also kind of in the "hood" a bit (hey, I live a few blocks from this place so I can say that). Anyways, it is so refreshing to go to a place, especially a cheap take out place in the middle of the city, where you get excellent, excellent service. Don't get me wrong, the wings are also very good (they're big, cheap, and tasty; I like the lemon-pepper best). But I really think the key to their success is that they honestly greet you with warm openness and seek to make you feel satisfied. That just seems like "How To Run A Successful Business 101," but apparently most folks in L.A. never took that class. My hat is off to these guys (and they do seem like young guys from the neighborhood who are running this business), and I am spreading the word to patronize this place because you'll be satisfied with the food and with the service.

Found this restaurant on this site and thought we'd give it a try. Late Sunday afternoon we called in an order for wings and their Chicken Ranch sandwich for delivery. Person on the phone couldn't have been friendlier. He apologized that it might be an hour before they could deliver, which was fine. Less than 30 minutes later our food was there, and everything was great. Thought the lemon pepper wings were a bit bland, but the hot wings and especially the hoagie was quite tasty.

I love hot wings. When I saw this place was rated high, I checked it out. Now, I can eat extremely spicy. I can eat a whole raw jalepeno like it's nothing. We ordered the suicide wings because at most places, suicide wings are just a hint of hot for me. When I ordered them, I made the mistake of joking, "I can take it" when they asked me if I was sure. I said yes, but when I saw them smirk and look at each other, I immediately said, "but don't make them spicier than you normally would." I think they were messing with us because these wings were not edible. They were like swallowing a raging volcano, making the actual wings tasteless. Yet, the hot wings aren't that hot. Go figure.

The lemon pepper wings, on the other hand, are to die for.

They could pretty much be serving dog food at this place and it would be okay because of the unbelievable service. Just go here a few times and they will remember your name and probably what you order too. And it's not like its just one person who works there either. Every single person that I've come in contact with since going to this restaurant regulary has been extremely nice and accommodating.

Oh yeah, and then there's the food. BEST WINGS IN LA!!! The sauce at Hoagies and Wings is intoxicating. After going there the first time on a lunch break, I could not work the rest of the afternoon cause of the taste left in my mouth. Everything else is amazing too. I've practically eaten my way around the entire menu and there is not a dud yet in sight.

Simply, try this place out. You will be back.

I happened by this place when it had only been open for a week. The two guys who own and operate the place were so enthusiastic that I'd have loved it no matter how the food was. Only then, the wings came. FANTASTIC WINGS, done right. You can get 'em a variety of ways, just flavor or burn your face off HOT! You really cant go wrong. Now I crave this place and regularly drive from the deep westside to this eatery. Try the Hoagies as well. These guys really do a concientious job of doing their thing well. You will enjoy Hoagies and Wings. Also, sign their mailing list and you will get occasional emails letting you know that the latest fight or other pay per view event is being show. A great neighborhood place, another reason to love living in Los Angeles.

I have no idea why people keep saying "finally! a real wing stand in LA!" The wings here are no better here than they are anywhere else in this city, which isn't a good thing. Tiny, with 2 bites of grey meat on each one. Sure, they're flavorful, but who cares? It's like they were ripped off a pigeon.
The service here is great, but that's really it. The hoagies - composed mostly of stale bread.
This place won best of citysearch, and as someone who grew up on the east coast eating subs and wings, and if you want a "decent" sub go to big mama's and papa's (for regular subs) or philly steak depot (for steak and cheese).
If you want good wings, you're on your own.

PROS: Service
CONS: Overrated - tiny wings; stale, bready subs.

Basically this place has the best Hot Wings period, end of discussion and I'm from the East Coast. The Lemon Pepper and Honey BBQ are also so so tasty. And the Sandwiches...oh my goodness!!! They are so freakin' delicious. I found this place from Citysearch because they won Best Chicken Wings and Best Sandwich. And the taste of both the Sandwich and the Wings far exceeded my expectations. As for the sandwich, I would go with the Steak, Ultimate Steak & Chicken, or the Buffalo Style. The service is excellent by the way. I say get to know this place asap and its owners now to be part of history. And did I mention they DELIVER too!!! They will be Catering our next office party for sure...Pinks watch out!!!

The ONLY place for real wings and the best fries in LA. I wish they had a better place to hang out but the food and excellent service more than makes up for that. As I speak, my girlfriend is picking up from there. Gotta go!

As a Philadelphia transplant, I was excited to see a new Hoagie place open up down the street. However, when I saw what they were calling a hoagie, I was sadly disappointed. This is no cold cut style sandwich that I was used to. This was a hot meat sandwich. The sandwich was good, but the real treat was the chicken wings. I've tried most of the flavors and they're all very good.

Since I'm not a hot wing connoiseur like the others, I can't speak to hotness situation but I can speak to the lemon pepper wings. OHMIGOD! They are so crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. There is fantastic after-taste that you'd wish lasted a little bit longer. I also highly recomment the steak hoagie because it seriously melts in your mouth. Every bit is tasty. They don't really have a parking lot but there's plenty of street parking. Even when there is a fight on t.v. and a lot of people are there, there's always plenty of street parking. The prices are great but the other great thing about Hoagies and Wings (other than the food and cost), is that the staff is super friendly.

Everything is fresh and clean. The service is INCREDIBLE! The wings are a nice healthy size (not like most joints). I had the hot and they were delicious. Probably the best buffalo wings I've had outside of mom's kitchen. I also had the steak sandwich: tender beef, grilled onions, FRESH-CRISP lettuce and tomatoes, soft toasted roll= Juicy and flavorful. Also, cool atmosphere and patrons. I live down the street in Culver City so it will become a regular haunt.

I am a huge fan of this place. The food is alway prepared fresh and the guys that run this store always make it a point to find out their client's names and to call you by it every time you go in. The lemon pepper wings are my personal favorite. I like this place WAY more than any other wing place I have been to.

I stopped by on my way back from Malibu and it was well worth the short detour off the 10. The wings were very juicy and fresh, more like breast meat than you expect wings to be. I had em made hot, and they were't kidding about that, although the spiciness wasn't so much as to be off-putting. My wife had the Caesar Chicken and found it quite filling and tasty.

Ive managed to pillage the menu, so I consider myself an expert on this place. Many venues like this have a reputation of being grease pits, but the ingredients used here are noticeably fresh and taste that way. The wings are simply the best Ive had in town, even took an ex-girlfriend there whos a wing connoisseur. She loved it, many different flavors. I sincerely concur. The suicide style is no joke, be brave if you must. My favorite hoagie is the lemon pepper chicken, although the basics like steak hoagies with mushrooms are quite tasty. All pretty much rule. Great French fries in miscellaneous seasoning. Superior garlic bread, and the salads are good too. Service is second to none, everyone there is really nice. Supposedly theres a decent crowd for sporting events as well. The worst thing I know is that too many people are sleeping on this one.

Expect lots of personal attention and care as a customer of this mid-los angeles establishment. Although the facilities are humble, the spirit is proud, the service is professional, and the food is peerless in its class.

The menu is focused on, obviously, hoagie sandwiches and chicken wings. Yet there are a lot of opportunities for creative variations within this strict framework. I prefer the Lemon Chicken wings myself, very tasty! Be forewarned that the Suicide Wings are very suitably named. They do deliver, but order well in advance.

A top-notch local business, and even better, a terrific neighbor of the community, Hoagies & Wings is uniquely deserving of praise for its product, service and local consciousness.

PROS: Great food, service and convenience.
CONS: Don't eat in on a cold, windy night.

Well I can honestly say that I won't be taking the drive to either of their locations for Wings any time soon
nor their future 3rd location.

I'd hate for you guys not to make the Best of....list in 2007 but unless you can return to your original recipe for success...quality and service I won't be voting for you this year. Anyone who has eaten here from when they opened can attest to the decline in quality of meat, dry-overcooked, miniature wings and definitely poor service. I would suggest to those who have supported this small joint to be honest in their assessment so as to encourage these guys to improve their quality/service.

To those new to this joint..this place isn't bad. The flavors are still good and satisfying & cheap but it just used to be so much better. If you don't walk in with any expectations you won't be dissapointed but if you read any of the glowing reviews-YOU WILL-because you are not eating the same food we ate back then. Sorry you are at least one year too late.
