The owner was so pleasant and helpful to two out of towners that we went back a second night of our 3 night trip to Tucson!! The food was amazing and the service was top notch! Thank you Max for an amazing pizza and taking such great care of us!!
We heard about this place while making a Safeway stop for some hotel snacks.... And we will make a trip to Tucson again just to see Max and have his amazing pizza!!!

wow! we arrived at bazil's pizza for a meal only to find that the restaurant was already closed. the owner "max" opened the doors anyway and prepared a wonderful meal for us anyways. it was delicious! so much so that we returned again for dinner before we returned to las cruces. the pizza, pasta and service was outstanding. I would definitely recommend this family owned restaurant!

I've know Max Bazil for years, and he's taken very good care of me and my family. (The Rolled Eggplant is to die for!)

Best pizza in town in my opinion, but it is important that you not make any specifications. Ask for "extra cheese" or "easy mushrooms" and your order falls apart. If you don't like it the way they make it, it's best to go somewhere else, or get over it--the way they make it is pretty damn good. Great toppings, the girls working the counter are sweet but try to stay out of the way of the owner. You can order pizza in the bar now too which is nice. Cash or check only, a little inconvenient but there are three ATMs in the same complex. If you're okay with waiting for awhile and the less than sugar-coated atmosphere, it's totally worth it.

10/15/2010 I have been a customer for 3 years at Bazil??s to go, since I moved to Tucson. The Pizza is pricey but generally pretty good except for two things: THEY DON??T USE ENOUGH SAUCE AND TOO MUCH CHEESE! I ordered a pizza a few months back with ??less cheese and heavy sauce? and it turned out great. I have made that same request 3 times since and each time there was barely any cheese on the pizza. The last time (today) I returned it and attempted to see if I could order my pizzas a better way. The owner didn??t ask me how I wanted to remedy the situation, in fact he didn??t even speak directly to me. He barked at the cashier to ??Tell him to make it himself! Throw the pizza away and give him back his money!?

She did, most of it anyway. She refunded $16 even of $17 and change bill. I was so mad that I didn??t count the money until I got to Papa John??s 520 299-3232. Who by the way made me a great pie for $12 with a smile.

Now I??ve been in this establishment enough that he knows me by first name. I never write reviews, but was compelled to write one after this service. After reading some of the other reviews, I wonder how Bazil??s to go stays in business? Apparently, they charge enough to not miss me or the other review writers on this page.

Have had Pizza, Spaghetti, meatball sandwiches, Italian sandwich. All good but with what seems to be day-old-bread. Called to suggest something fresher but was met with semi-rude "It's fresh every day" Even if it is fresh the bread is still not much good pal.

I have to tell you folks, these one-star reviewers are cracked. "Oh, I told all my friends and the people at Starbucks." Hey, yo, haven't you got anything better to do? Sheesh. This is a family run business with a little spice. If you worked half as hard as any of the people there, you'd be laid up in bed. It's just not some "Hi, I'm Trudy and I'll be your waitress tonight" kind of place. for God's sake - it's takeout! Get over wanting your butt kissed, man up, pay cash and go home and enjoy one of this town's best pizzas. Sides and salads are good, too... especially the house made oil & vinegar dressing with Italian spices.

If you spend your life worrying about your "sensitive side" maybe you should just stay home and eat Chef Boyardee.

Take some time to get to know these good people - don't treat those who serve you like crap; as if your money gives you the right to do so. If you stay away because of crackpot reviewers with an axe to grind you will be missing out.

I have been eating Bazil's pizza since mid 1990's and have never tasted better anywhere! Even living in a different part of town (15 miles away) if I am in the area I always stop to get a pizza there and it always makes the trip worth while. Try it and you will see!!!!

Hi, Yes It is a CASH only place. Very Small.....So, get over it.....
Bazils Special is the way to go, getting two tonight for a Pool night...
Everything is super fresh, the OWNER has been there for years....A pizza kitchen, and that is all it is. Is a pretty hot place and maybe it was a bad day....
No reason not to go back. I have never seen any display of temper from him or any of the crew...
He has been there for more than a decade......That says a lot.....

My husband and I decided to get pizza for dinner last night and decided on Bazil's To Go. We had had their pizza before and it wasn't bad, a little pricey but better than the usual take out.

When I called to place our order the girl on the phone was extremely rude and sarcastic. I had ordered the Bazil's Vegiterian, but accidently called it the veggie pizza, and she snapped and said "You mean the Bazil's Vegetarian?!?" We also ordered a salad with extra dressing and she seemed super annoyed that we added something extra. Finally I asked her what our total was and, obviously disgusted, told me to "just wait" , and after putting me on hold just came back on the line and said "thirty twenty four". That was the end of our conversation, no thank you, no see you in 25 minutes. When my husband went to go pick up the pizza he came home and said the guy was extremely rude too! Giving him much attitude and not very friendly.

We will no longer choose Bazils To Go for pizza anymore, we can find gourmet pizza at other places that would treat their costumers better. Too bad because the pizza is good. Of course we have already told two neighbors and the people at starbucks. Amazing when you have a bad experience how you seem to tell more people.

Yes, the pizza is decent. However, I had such a horrendous experience with what I assumed to be the owner, I will never go there again and am advising all of my friends and family to stay away. My father very gently and politely recommended that they remind customers on the phone that they don't take credit cards, and the owner instantly became terribly sarcastic, defensive, rude, and downright inappropriate. He scolded my sweet father and snapped that we had no right to tell him how to do business, when all my father did was innocently make a sensible suggestion. The owner then began to launch even further on his tirade, snapping that his pizza is a bargain at "only" $15 a pizza (we never even complained about the price, so why he began snapping about this is beyond me). Believe me, the pizza's not bad, but I've had much better for that price. I can't believe he couldn't even take a constructive (and politely suggested) criticism, and yet we left after his 5 minute rant at us feeling bewildered that this business is still open. Please, stay away from this business and give the business to someone who still treats the customer like the way a customer should be treated. I've never, ever seen worse customer service.

The Best Pizza in Town. Believe me I've looked. This a purely take out scene. Its attached to a restaurant that I've sat down in and realized they didn't serve the pizza that I adored. Call them up and have them deliver or pick up the best pizza I've had this side of Chicago. They add generous toppings and a killer sauce. The delivery drivers are a little scary but that's not unique. The pizza comes cut in fun squares.

This is take out only and worth the trip. I believe it is the best pizza in town. It is located in a shopping center with ample parking just no seating available. It is more expensive than dominoes but more than worth the price. We drive the extra 20 mils just to get their pie. They have other italian dishes but we have never tried them. The pizza is what has made them famous. This pizza is so special you gotta try them. The cutomer service is excellent and they do provide a delivery service within reason.
