My wife and I recently moved to Tucson. Having enjoyed many meals at Black Angus restaurants in California, we expected to have a great meal at the Black Angus at 5075 N. Oracle Rd in Tucson last evening; we were sorely disappointed. Our dining experience last evening was quite possibly the worst I have ever had.

I am used to good food served in the proper way at Black Angus. The only good part of our meal last night was the salad. The Prime Rib, to say the least, was not. My cut was warm, about 100 degrees. I had requested at least 137 degrees, which is medium rare. The plate was cold and the steamed broccoli was just warm, the cheese on top appeared to be shaved parmesan, not the melted cheese described in the menu. My prime rib was full of connective tissue and difficult to cut. I would say more like tearing it apart with the knife. Of the three prime rib dinners we ordered, only mine was served with Au Jus and it too was cold. My other guest ordered a rib eye steak. This was the thinnest piece of steak I have seen (all of the meat entrees seemed undersized) and it looked like she was having a tough time cutting it. We also ordered dessert. The Double Chocolate cake was dry on the outside and the chocolate syrup was not very warm. My cheesecake was old and the crust was thick, brittle, and dry.

The waitress was polite and friendly but seemed to be serving too many tables. As a result the service was slow; our dinner was two hours long. Two hours is fine for a seven course meal but not three.

I had committed to buying a $75.00 gift card when we were seated expecting to use it later for another fine meal at Black Angus. I now regret that purchase as well.

Our total bill was over two hundred dollars with the gift card and the 15 % discount. I am sorry to say I felt I wasted two hundred dollars on a very disappointing dining experience.

Pros: Pleasant server

Cons: Quality of food

The restaurant was overall a good place to eat. If you are looking to impress a date it is a good place to go. However, if you are looking for value, it seemed like it was a little over-priced for the food that was served.

Black Angus came highly recommended so we went there for dinner on a random weekday.
We both had prime rib. It came out way way way over done. I ordered medium well and it was so cooked it was hard to chew it. My husband had it medium and it came out well done as well but not as hard and chewy as mind was. During dinner we were not asked how the meal was or could not fine the waiter to get drink refills. We then had to wait for 20 minutes for the check after we were done. Overall it was a very negative experience. The good and service was horrible. Maybe they treat you better on weekends and other food besides prime rib is actaully good. We will not go back there.
