This place has been good to my cat, even let me come in after hours once because of a semi-emergency. I've found the vet to be very caring and accommodating, but perhaps that's because I'm also a "lesbian dyke".

My old dog Max had to be put down because of kidney failure and the staff was so compassionate and caring. When I got my new puppy they are just as good as they were with Max. All I have to say is "Lets go see the girls" and both Max (before he passed away) and Shooter both get excited to go. They are very good with the animals and myself. When my husband passed away they were just as compassionate. They are very reasonable compared to some other places.

We adopted a young dog from the pound, and took her to Phoenix Dog, Cat and Bird Hospital for a wellness check. I had previously gotten 2 of my cats spayed there, as well as vaccinated, and the staff seemed nice enough.
Our new dog was coughing a bit, and we mentioned this to the vet, she prescribed antibiotics, to which we expressed concern about safety. The nurse told us that this was standard treatment. After taking the antibiotics for a day and a half, our dog became increasingly ill and began vomiting up white foam every half hour or so.
When we stopped the antibiotics, the problem seemed to decline a bit, but she continued vomiting all day Sunday.
When my wife called the vet, they admonished her for stopping the antibiotic. She explained that it had made the dog ill, which is a common side effect of the particular antibiotic (which is not FDA approved for animal use), and was told by the doctor herself that "We don't have time to go over side effects of medications for every single animal we treat. Could you imagine how long that would take?"
Instead, we had to look up the information on the drug ourselves, as the vet was of course, closed on Sunday.
We understand that any medication can have side effects, but it is inexcusable and unacceptable for a vet to deny responsibility for informing the patients of potential side effects. They refused to give us any alternative medication, any form of reimbursement for the medication, and were incredibly verbally abusive to my wife on the phone.
We were told that it was entirely our responsibility to know any potential side effects for a medication we had never even heard of, we were scolded for taking our pet off a drug that she was very obviously allergic to, and we were very snidely informed that we should have just refused the medication if we were unsure about giving it to our animal.
Neither of us are veterinarians, nor are we medical doctors. We put our trust in the doctors at this vet, and they brazenly flaunted their ignorance and lack of compassion when they told us there was "nothing [they] could do" about any of our grievances. They refused to admit any kind of fault, even for the simple fact that they could have taken fourty seconds to inform us that this drug did commonly cause nausea, and we should administer it with food, etc. Or perhaps that if our dog had an intense reaction, we should discontinue this medicine immediately.
They showed no consideration for the fact that this was a dog we had recently adopted from a pound, thus we did not know her history, allergies, etc. They refused to apologize, or even handle the event in a professional manner, instead, they ridiculed, chastized, and admonished us over the phone. The doctor continually insisted that we should have just known about the side effects, and it wasn't her "job" to inform us of such.
In summary, if you are going to put your trust and the health of your animal in the hands of any veterinarian, please do not take them here.

The staff is very professional & caring. My cat was very sketchy about vets & vet offices since being fixed (by a different vet) and I needed to find a new vet for her. I brought her here and despite her acting out, they were gentle & kind and very soothing. So, when I got my 2 Jack Russell pups, I started bringing them here also. They love it, too. I highly recommend these folks if you want your "buds" to get kind, considerate, highly competent health care.
