Nice mutton biryani....
3Nice mutton biryani....
I've read the other reviews of ashoka and most of them are from a couple of years ago and before remodeling. So don't get the wrong idea this place is awsome. And that's a fact. First of all the food was authentic Indian food it wasn't like other places where they dumb down the spices to American spicy which is like no spice at all. On top of that the food came in really big portions and cheap. Them renovating was a smart choice, I mean they were packed on the Friday evening I went. The wait was for like 20 mins for a table of two but definitely worth it. I waited at the bar so it wasn't even that long of a wait. While I was there I ordered a long island ice tea which was one of the best I've had. All the waiters were nice to me and my lady friend ;). Even the waiter I asked to help us out even though he wasn't our waiter because I could see that my waiter was busy with the table next to us, was really nice to us. like I said early my bill was surprisingly lower than I thought it would be like a 25 bucks esp. with the liquor we ordered I even asked the waiter if there waiter if there was a mistAke and took the check back and came back in couple of mins and said no. so long story sort one the best Indian restaurant I've been to.

I opened the door and it felt like I was entering a tiger's cave smelling of meat. Cannot imagine eating in a place like that.

Pros: Donno
Cons: Stuffy Smell
the chicken massala was great they used all white meat. My wife loved the rice and nan. We also got the tandori chicken really good stuff. Also you cant beat a $2 glass of wine.
4I would recommend ordering food, rather than getting the buffet. Though the buffet is not too bad either, the more flavorful selections will be from food that you specifically order.
4I was never a really big fan on Indian food til' my cousin and I started ordering from here. We usually order the chicken masala to go. we always get 2 orders because it is that good. It does NOT smell. dont be ignorant. it tastes really good. Try something new.
5I love this place! My friends and I would go on Saturdays for their buffet! It is awesome. All you can eat Indian food buffet for about $7 per person... you cannot beat that! They have a great selection of food.
4ashoka the great is one of the older and known indian restaurants located in artesia. their naan and chicken are fantastic. seating is nice, but kind of crowded.
3Excellent north indian style food, with lots of chicken dishes and excellent desserts. The best deals are the thali's. I recomment the Tandoori Thali with which you get chicken, beef and more chicken along with vegetables of the day and roti and papadum. Excellent price for excellent food! Don't miss out on Ashoka!!!
