I've shopped at this particular location since 2001. Over the years I've come to own four cars, all of which had their tires fitted at this same location. I was under the impression that I had developed a genuine understanding and rapport with this establishment, however recently I was convinced otherwise.

I removed the wheels of one of my vehicles to examine the brake pads. I noticed that on one of my wheels the wheel studs had been stripped. The only way for wheels studs to become stripped and thus ruined is by improper tightening of the lug nuts. I called this Discount Tire and told them about the situation. They responded by saying that there was no way for me to prove that Discount Tire had ruined the studs because the car had not been at their shop for quite some time, and that anyone could have ruined the wheel studs. I told them that the last people to touch the wheels on this vehicles was their shop, but they clearly didn't want to help and refused to deal with me any further.

Now, I understand where these people are coming from. I managed a car-service center and I can understand how suspicious it would seem for a customer to claim that their car had been broken by them after some months had passed. But, I certainly am not just some ""random"" customer. I was a customer for over 10 years and spent thousands of dollars at this location, only to be turned away when they OBVIOUSLY damaged my vehicle. The cost of the new wheels studs? About $2 each, and I only needed three studs replaced. I was able to install the wheels studs on my own, without special tools. So, for $6 and normal tools Discount Tire could have taken care of a customer of over 10 years who spent THOUSANDS of dollars at their location. I guess Discount Tire is really great when it comes to making money off of you-taking care of you the morning after? Apparently not so much...

My mechanic serviced my car and told me that a front rim was dented and that I had two questionable tires and should have the rim and tires check at a tire store. I took the car to Discount Tire on Genesee, where I had bought tires before. I told the young man who waited on me about what the mechanic said and asked the price for a new rim. He said it would cost about $60 but that it would not take the dealership's hubcap, but said he should look at the rim first. He took it off and examined it and said that it was safe to use. I asked him about the two tires, and he said he would change those but the other two were in good condition. So he put on two new tires, putting the dented rim in the rear, and balanced the tires for $220. He could have sold me a new rim, but didn't. And he could have suggested 4 tires instead of 2, but didn't. And he could have suggested expensive tires, but didn't. The tires were $73 each. He point out insurance was possible, and I took, mostly out of gratitude for the good service. The entire process took about 45 minutes. I can't say if every service person at Discount Tire is as good and honest as the one I had, but today was a five star day.

I recomend this place to everyone that needs new tires or needs a flat fixed. I've been coming to this place for the past few years and everytime I leave I'm very satisfied.

This shop has saved me on so many occasions. They will always fit me in when I have a flat and my car is done within an hour. I highly recommend purchasing the replacement certificate with your new tires. It costs $10 extra but I have used it at least 4 times and it is worth it! This location is much more helpful than the one on Mission Gorge
