I received a free birthday blow out offer online. This was perfect timing as I had a wedding to go to and decided I could use it then. I booked my appointment days in advance, received 2 confirmation emails and was on my way to Blu Salon. 10 minutes before my appointment (I'm in the car), I get a call from Jody telling me they have to move my appointment to a later time (2 hours later) because it wasn't scheduled properly. After I explained my situation - how was I going to book another appointment in time before the wedding?? - she said that since this is a complementary offer, only certain people can do it. I was pretty upset - why call me 10 minutes before my appointment to tell me this? You charge a fee if I don't cancel my appointment 24 hours before, and yet you can do that?? This Jody continued to speak and just would not listen - I literally said I would never go there again and write this review. She then back-tracked and said I could come in on my scheduled time but there was no guarantee that I would be seen. What would be the point??? As she continued to talk over me, I told her to stop talking... finally using a cuss word to get her to stop. She balked and before she could answer, I hung up.

How do people think that their time is more important than others? In addition, it is not my fault that they had scheduled my appointment incorrectly and felt that they could just shove me to a later time 10 minutes before my scheduled one!

Horrible customer service. Never going there again.

I was told it would wash and fade. But the orange keeps getting oranger, and the grey, greyer. I am so deflated and don't even want to leave my house my hair looks so bad.

And if that's not worse enough, I called to get a refund so I could used that money to go somewhere else to have it fixed (if at all possible), and the salon manager said NO!!!! I am so sad! I paid $145 to a so-called professional to destroy my look, damage my hair and leave my self-confidence and wallet completely drained. If they were empathetic at all, they would at least give me my money back so I could try to have my hair fixed. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau about this.

I was so pleased to find Loretta at Blu. She is a great colorist and stylist. She really listened and took the time to understand what I was trying to achieve, and completely exceeded my expectations. This is the first stylist I have been to in 10 years of living in the LA area who has given me the color and cut I wanted!!

The salon is very pleasant- calming, clean and welcoming. I feel that the prices are very reasonable and parking is easy and free.

My wife came home and felt as though she was judged for using at home hair products. She felt obligated to spend $100 over our budget because of the actions of some of the people in this salon. It was not a good experience for her.

But I guess there were free cookies.

One of the best salons I've ever been to. Everyone's really friendly and attentive. The stylists really know what they're doing and they really listen to what you want. They also have a great line of products!

This Salon is the greatest. I have been a client for over two years and every time I leave the salon I am pleased with the results. Blu has the best products that are safe for the environment, great prices, and the staff is always professional and attentive to every need. The stylists listen closely to what it is that I always want and take the time to communicate with me until I am pleased. I have arrived to this salon in a suit after work and in my soccer jersey after a game and they never treat me different. There is always a welcoming grin, warm tea to relax you or vino depending on your day, and then I have often received a hand massage or foot treatment completely complimentary. Even with the economy being in the dumps I refuse to go anywhere else and I am sure once you visit you would feel the same.

I have been going to Blu Aveda Salon (formerly Eclipse Salon) since I moved to CA in 2007 and not only do I love my hair but I get compliments on my hair - cut and color - all the time.

My stylist Melinda is incredibly professional and accommodating and everyone there is warm and friendly. It's not easy to find a salon where you can receive excellent, upscale service as well as an approachable, relaxed atmosphere. Each customer also gets a complimentary foot soak and hand massage which is a really nice extra.

One of the reasons I remain loyal to the salon is because on my first visit there, I got a new stylist (who was subsequently let go) who didn't do a good job on my hair. She was so nice that I didn't complain but the other stylists knew I wasn't that satisfied. Although the owner Kim was not there during my visit, I returned home and got an email from Kim saying that she heard that my appointment didn't go as well as it should have and she offered me a free service if I would come back. To me, that is excellent customer service - for the owner to proactively address my problem? That's unheard of.

I highly recommend this salon and it's located in The Promenade of Santa Anita Mall so you can shop before or after as well.

I moved to CA from TN in August. I needed to find a salon that not only delivered quality service, but also warm and friendly hospitality to their clients. I am very glad I discovered BLU. I have been a regular client since my first visit with Andy. He is the best!!

I just started going to this salon when they opened at the Santa Anita Promenade and I like it. The employees are really friendly and you get what you ask for. The salon is pricey compared to the $15 haircut i would get before but its worth it when they give you a great haircut and service and when they don't mess up your hair.

I've been going to this salon since my daughter was born and this year marks 15 years. I have read the reviews posted on this site and decided to make a comment about my experience. I am a very particular person and have requested on many occasions "special treatment" from my stylist, Kimberly, who happens to be the owner. She has always accommodated my requests. During the 15 years I will admit there has been a time or 2 I have not been happy with my hair for one reason or another. When I call the salon they are more than happy to fit me in to a time that meets my very busy schedule, and I have never been charged extra, in an effort to make me happy. I must say their policy is always been nothing but outstanding. Perhaps these people who have made these negative remarks have had unreasonable demands, I am not sure. All I can say is that my experience has been terrific, and I owe it to Kimberly to speak in her behalf and thank her for all the wonderful hairstyles and service she has given me!

mistake was made and they robotically stood firm on POLICY- okay fine policy won't let them make a human intervention, but a sincere "I apologize..." what have made the experience worth given them a 2nd chance

I had my first ever eyebrow waxing done by Kimberly and it was great. I went back for a second and told her I ~loved~ what she did. She then gave me a totally different wax: uneven, 2 holes in my left brow, no arch in my right, all the hairs pointing down not up. She never asked me if I wanted a different shape, she offered no apology or opportunity to have me come back in in a few weeks to fix it and she didn't offer to comp the fee. She knew I was upset and she just handed me my bag and wished me a Merry Christmas. My eyebrows look like they were cut with a lawnmower. And she's the owner. HORRIBLE experience.

I adored Elizabeth, who trimmed and styled my hair for only $35. She was attentive, listened to what I wanted, and was extremely careful to not take too much off my hair. She didn't push any merchandise, complimented me on my haircare habits, and put little product on my hair because she said I didn't need a lot. However, the receptionist/manager(?) was pushy about pre-booking, interrupted the stylist and I when we discussed what was best for my hair, and did the complementary hand massage as quickly as possible in a brusque manner. In short, she diminished an otherwise relaxing vibe and should mellow the heck out. Wouldn't you *want* customers to linger so they can actually consider buying products, especially when no one's waiting? The truth is, I was there to pamper myself and would've spent more money -- if given the chance! Receptionists need to understand that they're the first and last impression customers have of a business.

I was so impressed by the knowledge my stylist had about hair color. I really like the haircut I had and she didn't try to talk me into something I didn't want. I got a great shampoo, a hand massage with hot towels, and a martini!! I love my hair color and the color lasted and stayed shiny much longer that before. I love that I can just get a "trim" and not leave with my hair 4 inches shorter. I have gone here a few times now and get the same service each time. I'm new to Pasadena and was looking for a good Aveda salon. When i read the review about the over pricing I was not too worried because I had downloaded a 40$ off coupon from their website. I also aked about the price before I made my appointment. The conver sation went like this: Me- "Hi, i was wondering how much it would cost for me to get a cut and color?" Them-"a cut will be around 45-55 $. What kind of color were you interested in?" Me- "well, i've been dying my hair from ash to dark brown for a few years now. I just want to get an all over color, nothing fancy." Them- "that will be around 65$".

so i went to the appointment and the stylist (i think her name was diane, or diana) was fighting me on what color to dye my hair. she kept giving me weird looks and telling me I should do something else.

I used my 40$ off coupon and the total came to 100$, without tip. I asked her why it was so expensive and she said that the color was 100$. just normal color, nothing special.

also- this salon did not have the charm and perks that most aveda solons have. no scalp massage with shampoo, just quick and cold.

pros- I got a ton of compliments on my hair color, still do (dispite the stylists protests)

cons- pricing, atmosphere, mean stylist

i had never had any bikini waxing done so this was a very scary thing for me. but they were very nice. natasha explained everything to me and made me feel really comfortable with her. she also was very professional. i felt that she really knew what she was doing which is important for me. the experience turned out to be not as scary as i thought.

this salon has excellent service however is expensive for a color and cut for med length hair. the cost is 95. they serve you water while your waiting i went here a couple of times to see the hairdresser that was the recommended

PROS: i like the color they mixed & was not overwhelmed with the chemicals the

this is a pleasant aveda salon. the stylists are nice and they provide drinks and magazines while you wait. i have gotten my hair cut and colored a few times here. the last time i was there i was not satisfied. i showed my stylist the picture i wanted and she still did not give the cut i wanted. another con was that she did not tell me the price. i was very surprised when i had to pay over $200 because she used some special highlighting process which i normally do not get. i could have gotten my hair done for the same quality at a much more reasonable price.

PROS: pleasant environment
CONS: slow
expensive
