Delicious pizza, great ambiance. Always a long wait. I wish they expanded the size of their restaurant.

Good pizza but you will pay for it since it is in Santana Row. Enjoyed the thin crust pizza. Small restaurant. Some outside seating. Quick service. Friendly staff.

I love this place. Its really good pizza, but your bill can be up there. Parking stinks because it is at Santana Row and it can be crowded in the resturant as well.

The atmosphere is nice, the servers are pretty nice, and the entrees are consistently delicious. I love the crispy thin crust pizzas and recommend pizzas # 4 & 8 with tomato sauce and the spaghettini with sausages! The salads are really good too but a little on the pricier side.

Love the fact you can dine indoors or outdoors (heated lamps make you nice and toasty).

I usually don't eat pizza too often but with all the rave reviews I had to see what all the hype was about. Pizza Antica makes unbelievably fantastic pizza. I've never had thin-crust pizza this good. The mushroom pizza is to die for! For appetizers, I highly recommend the fried artichokes. Also, Pizza Antica officially serves the best caesar salad I have ever had. The lettuce is chilled and tastes fresh enough to have been straight from the garden. The salad isn't over dressed and the croutons bring a buttery taste to the salad, I love it. Surprisingly Pizza Antica also offers quite an impressive winelist.

The only thing I can really knock about Pizza Antica is that it's a bit expensive for Pizza. Depending on the day you come, the wait can be extremely long but is definitely worth it.

Wonderful place in Santana Row.
The pizza is thin crust, not greasy at all. We love the potato-truffle oil pizza. The decor is nice. You can seat out side too.
It can get pretty crowded on weekends!

I've often enjoyed dinner at Pizza Antica in the past. It has a good and lively atmosphere, and normally friendly waiters and hostesses. However, the quality of food has gone down hill in the past year. Dishes that I used to enjoy in the past seem to lack quality of ingredients and preparation. I used to enjoy the caesar salad, but recently, the lettuce has been wilted or unfresh on several occations. The pizza and pasta used to fill my mouth with flavor. Again, these days, several of the dishes seem extraordinarily bland. It just seems like this location has lost a lot of what it used to have over the past year. I used to visit this restaurant very frequently. I've stopped going now, opting for other restaurants in Santana Row that have maintained their quality.

I love Pizza Antica. My parents are from out of state and everytime they visit my mother will not leave without going! She gets some pizza w/ broccoli and its always really good! The pepperoni is popular everytime. I always get the chicken ceasar piadini... mmmmm.... I wish i still lived nearby I would be there now. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing dinner- this isnt it. The food takees awhile, and its always crowded (I usually opt for lunch time!), and its a ver casual setting... but with food that good its worth it! Its the only pizza I will eat outside of Chicago!

Pros: The FOOD!

Cons: the wait

No minuses for hasty service and long waits since that is to be expected from Santana Row restaurants. The pizza is amazing. A nice, light, thin crust. The signiture pizza's are unique. The pear, Mt Tam and sweet garlic is awesome. But the crust, sauce and cheese are so good that just about any topping goes well on the pies. The starters and salads are usually good too.

I've been to Pizza Antica few times, hoping to find better portions sizes and service without an attitude(or less of it).But looks like they just don't want to change that.
For almost $9 when you order bruschetta, you expect atleast few pieces of bread with the toppings, but all you get is a single bread toast which is just otrageous.Same about gnocchi, just 5-6 pc.s for $13. I do like the quality of food but it's just not worth the prices.Agreed, we don't need to load up,but we don't want to open the fridge either after going home.
Their desserts need serious thought on quality and presentation.I expect more from a Santana Row Restaurant than what Pizza Antica offers.

I grew up in Italy and am quite picky in Italian food in the States, but I admit that Pizza Antica comes as close as I have seen to the real deal. This is a good thin crust pizza, crispy crust and tastey toppings. . . and with their prices, it's indeed a bargain.
To top it off, the service/management is really good. Only once I have ever had problems with the food (the spicy stewed calamari was just a bit undercook). They first made apologies and in less than 5 minutes I had another plate in front of me and when I wasn't fully satisfied with the second one either (I actually never said anything verbally the second time), having left the plate almost untouched on the side, they simply took it off the check, even if I have just boxed it to bring it home. I had both the waitress and the manager apologizing twice: a far better service and much more attention to the client?s satisfaction than I have had at Le Boulevard (SF) or Amber India (Mountain View).

Pros: You will have a minimum wait tiem of 15 to 20 minutes unless you egt there right before closing

Cons: the food and the price. This is oen unpretentious place serving plain good food.

.

The decor is fine, and the pizza was okay, but I next time I'll go across the street to the food court at the mall. The gnocchi was horrible - it LOOKED AND TASTED like tater tots with thousand island dressing. If I were to go back, I would never try the pasta here again.

I agree that the hosts do have some attitude, and they never miss a chance to put it on display. however, the food is out of th world, very affordable and the atmosphere really good. we have had several of their pizzas and dishes. their gnocchi is to die for... dont miss it if you go there. great wine list / drinks menu.

Very good pizza. I haven't had much else here but I like their selection of pizzas and have tried most of them. The atmosphere is nice and relatively relaxed for a busy place. The service is generally good. The hosts can have a little bit of an attitude but this is Santana Row... I think that's a prerequisite. Parking is... well, this is Santana Row.

1 hour and 15 minutes after being told it would be a 35 minute wait, my dining companion and I were finally seated. Although the staff was friendly, the restaurant has a rushed feel that does not create a relaxed dining experience. The minestrone-like soup was good. However when the waitress warned us that #4 pizza with portabello mushrooms and sausage had no sauce, I had no idea that what she really meant was it is a dry thin crust pizza without much in the way of toppings. Not a bad restaurant, but definitely not worth the wait and for what you do get, prices should be less.

My friend and I really enjoyed our dinner. I know its a pizza place but when I see mussels on the menue I just have to get them.
We also had pizza and desert and everything was done to perfection. I even got a pizza to take home for later.
The service was very good.

I absolutely love this place. Right in the heart of Santana Row and the food is amazing. I go there every time I'm in town and I've never been disappointed with the food or service. If you're looking for traditional NY style pizza or that thick crust stuff with traditional toppings, you probably won't like this place. But if you're into super thin crust pizza with a variety of gourmet toppings, you simply cannot go wrong.

If you're looking for a quick meal, you're probably better off ordering from one of those pizza chains. Know that the wait to get a table is really long (45mins when busy) but what popular place isn't? The food takes a while as well but it's well worth it. Perfect for chilling with friends and conversation over a mouthwatering slice of heaven.

I'm going to be in town this weekend and I will definitely make time to eat there!

The pizza was good, that was to be expected from the other reviews, but they must have been reading Citysearch because the service was pretty good. We even requested a table move after being seated and were accomodated even though the restaurant was slightly busy. They do not accept reservations, but do take calls about 30 minutes ahead of time to get your name in.

I went there with my boyfriend two weeks ago for lunch. I asked for a table for two and the waitress was really rude, and only smile to some people. There is no place to wait for a table. The food was just average.

I went to Pizza Antica with friends this past Saturday for dinner.

When I got to the restaurant, I wasn told that our table was being set up -- well 45 minutes later, my party still has not been seated.

The service was less than expected -- no refills on the water unless asked, 1 small plate of focaccia for a party of 7 - -again no one asked if we wanted more. Had to ask
for additional plates and napkins....

The quality of the food was average -- the portion size for the price was small. I do not
understand where all the praise for their pizza originates. Fortunately, there are
many significantly better restaurants in Santana Row not to mention other restauarants
specializing in Pizza.

Reading the high reviews made us try this place. First of, we ordered some mussels that weren't fresh at all so we stopped eating after tasting 3. The waiter eventually came around, asked if we were done and just took them away, no questions as to why we didn't eat 90% of the dish! We let that go and eagerly awaited our pizzas. My pizza tasted extremely salty so I sent it back but the second one came back just as bad. My boyfriend's pizza was ok so he gave the place another try for a biz lunch. He ordered the field greens salad and it was just plain greens drenched in dressing, even though he asked for the dressing on the side - no tomatoes, cucumbers, nothing!! for 7-8 bucks! So needless to say, we are done with that place. What a disappointment!!!

My wife and I ordered a pizza to share on Saturday afternoon. The pizza took 20 minutes to arrive. It's a thin pizza, bake time was probably 5-10 minutes. When the waitress finally brought out our pizza, she didn't bring us any plates. When our water glass/pitcher was empty, she didn't bother to refill it. When our ice tea was empty, she didn't bother to refill it. This is not the kind of service appropriate for Santana Row. It's actually not appropriate service for any restaurant.

Our first experience here left us wondering. But after a few more times, we "got" it and this place really grows on you. The formula here is great tasting food that won't make waistline bulge. It is "diet pizza" that you can eat without guilt. Until understanding this we were thinking, "you have to be kidding" at the portion size. The best thing on the menu is hidden: the Piadini up on the top right. Just writing this makes my mouth water to go and eat one. The service is consistently good. In short: a great place to "gorge" on tasty food and not have to go into a food coma afterwards.

Pizza Antica's thin crust pizza rates among the best available anywhere in the Bay Area. Also there are other great Italian\California fare available if you are not in the mood for pizza. Try the BLT (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato) salad for a starter or as a refreshing meal on its own. The people watching is fun all year around due to the outdoor heating. After eating you can stroll among the shops in Santa Row or across the street at a more traditional mall.

Crisp, thin crust, wood oven-baked pizzas are the main draw here, though pastas and Italian appetizers earn high marks as well. The wine list is well above par for a pizzeria, but considering the triumvirate of Bay Area restaurateurs that…
