Maybe they were having a very busy night, but I'm a little puzzled by all the good reviews. We had three meat dishes all of which were fatty, oily, gritty and full of bones. It was like having fish with the bones still in, except you

Best indian food in bay area. Price is cheap and very very good. the best Tandori Chicken...juicy!!! My favorite Lam Curry really satisfying. The only downside is parking, but i paid for the 2hr $8 right next door. Patron seems going away

Pros: Food

After Friday's Khutbah, my husband I usually go here to order for our lunch. The atmosphere is not too noisy not too quiet either and the location is downtown San Francisco -upper tendorloin area. The place looks clean and their employees are pretty efficient. I love their lamb baryani, spinach with cheese, and their chicken tikka massala. Price is reasonable but parking is awful. You can call them to take order that way you dont fall in line - yeah long lines. It makes sense coz they really have good food.

Cheap and sort of fast. Get there before 7pm on Friday to avoid the wait. Better than anything else you'd get in the Union Sq area. Worth the walk. Aloo (potato) naan and the ground been kabob is good. Trying to taste everything on

My friend recommended this family owned Indian restaurant located on Jones Street in San Francisco. I was a little skeptical going to this area of San Francisco, but she told me that it was safe. And since I did go at lunch time, it was a safe neighborhood.

The service was great. As soon as I sat down, the waiter gave me water and some yummy garlic nan. He took my order quickly even though they were busy. They have a lot to choose form on the menu. I do not like thick curry sauces so I choose a spicy chicken dish that they BBQ over this clay oven. It was great: perfectly seasoned and not dry. And the whole meal was only 7 dollars.
I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. But if you are going at night, make sure you go with a group of people because the area is not all that great.

Stop in for a quick bite or bring a bunch of friends for a big sit-down. You might want to call them first if you do that because they get very busy. I've tried almost everything on the menu, and you can't go wrong. Great prices, and quick

We were in SF for a convention and tried Chuntey from a recommendation from the desk at the Hotel Adagio which is just around the corner. The food has good flavor but the service is poor. I had chicken vindaloo which is suppossed to be one

This is our fave "value" Indian restaurant - comparing to Naan'n'Curry, Pakwan, Shalimar, etc. Definitely seems to be the cleanest of them, good service, and very tasty food. Also a good intro place for out-of-towners who have never

I don't know why anyone wouldn't like this place. This is if not my favorite place to eat, at least in the top 3. The food is great. Try the smoked eggplant curry with nan first, then work your way through what every catches your fancy.

The food is really lousy. The owner things making it full of garam masala is good. Its very very bad. Made us wait for 45 minutes before we got our food. Service is arogant specially the person on the counter. Food is bad. I would prefer

Cleaner, cheaper, and friendlier than Pakwan, and I found the veggie curries to be much more complex tasting. Highly recommend!

Chutney is a terrific place to go grab a bite to eat before going to the Theatre. Cheap, great atmosphere (I'd say better than the other good Indian/Pakistani restaurants on the block), and great food. It's self service like the others
