Phil and Bennie have been cutting my hair since I was born. I'm 38 now. He cut my dad's hair staring in 1968. Since I moved to college I've had hundreds of other people cut my hair, and none have ever come close to doing the fine, detailed job that is the standard at Phil's Barber Shop. They use the thinning sheers with old school excellence, leaving you with, what I can attest to, is the best haircut you will ever have.

I discovered Phil's shop in an L.A. Times Magazine article about facial shaves. It is very difficult to find barbers or stylists that do old-fashioned shaves so I was excited to find Phil's. I have been several times and find the shaves to be fantastic. He uses hot towels, creams and a straight edge to give the best and closest shave possible. It's a real treat, especially if you hate shaving as much as I do. They take appointments on weekdays but not Saturdays so be prepared to wait (sometimesover an hour) on Saturdays. I highly recommend it!
