Miosa is the best bridal salon ever. They have amazing dresses that are way less than I expected. The owners are great to work with and made a lot of reccomendations to help me choose the perfect dress. I loved working with Miosa and can't wait for my wedding day but mostly can't wait for my dress.

I'd go anywhere else but here if you don't want to be stressed out before your wedding. All was well 'till I paid in full and then they could care less about fittings, final details, etc. Not worth the last-minute stress!

First and foremost to start out the consultation the person who helped me never even introduced herself to me, and completely ignored my maid of honor sister (whom I introduced - hoping to also get a name out of her). Nothing. No courtesy there what so ever. Then when I showed her my folder that contained pictures of the styles I liked - I was then told about 'how they were the typical cookie cutter styles' - and then haughtily replied that they could 'possibly' do something along those lines, but not with all the beadwork (after all, 'these dresses are made here in California, and not made in China with cheap materials, and cheap labor'). There were many other issues, one being they are not prepared for "larger" brides, yes, I am considered 'larger' by their standards ( I guess I should be happy that she didn't call me fat, but 'larger'). Another was the price. After trying on the first dress - a basic taffeta, I asked about the price. She said it was 2700. Yup - - 2700 - for a plain dress with no beading. I told her about my budget and she went to look at the books and basically came back and said the cheapest she would be able to do for any dress of 'my size' would be 1900, (a dress that wouldn't be similar to any of the style ideas I brought in) but with alterations it would be 2300. Needless to say - after having 2 men doing odd jobs around the store and having me come out to the mirror with a dress that didn't even cover a portion of my backside - the price, and the whole ambiance and dinginess of the store - - - I left after that first dress.
On one note - I realize I could have asked about how much their dress price range was at the time of making the appt - but I had no idea that the cheapest dress for a size 14 gown would be 2300 before tax (and whatever else that could be tacked onto the price after the fact). After going to another salon - and seeing how it SHOULD be, I just had to sign up and let other brides know my experience.

Cons: Everything else!

I cant believe the reviews on-line about Miosa. I have been to every local bridal shop as well as many in the bay area. The owners and staff at Miosa have wonderful customer service. My options there were far more than any where else I went. I decided to purchase my gown there because they seem to really know what they are doing. I guess you can't please everyone but I was sure impressed with this business.

I just got married and purchased my dress from Miosa. I am very disturbed by the unfair reviews I see posted about them. I flew to Sacramento from New York to purchase my gown from them. Michael and Sanea were wonderful to work with. Their service was better than all of the other salons I went to. I personally experienced a "discussion" between the owners and yeah, they are married. They had different opinions about how to do the final fitting of my dress. Sanea really cares about the final product and will stick up for the client. She is only looking out for the client. I HIGHLY recommend this business. I loved my dress and felt incredibly beautiful in it. As far as price is concerned, you get a lot more for your money at Miosa than if you went to any other designer. Way better than Vera or other designers. It actually fits!

Pros: Huge Selection, Customer Service, Committment to Clients

Cons: None

beautiful storefront. "couture." hand made gowns. $5,000 price tag. you'd think all of these things would lend themselves to great customer service. however, the owners of miosa do not seem to rate customer service high on their priority list. granted, the dresses are absolutely beautiful, but it's almost not worth it. there's dead plants in the store. the floor has stains on it. the bathroom is filthy (they have you wash your hands before trying on the dress, but you'd think you were in the bathroom at streets of london pub). they take your measurements out at the front desk. you always have to share the big mirror with one or two other brides and their gawking mothers. there does not seem to be any official price breakdown; as in, what am i paying $4,500 for? the owner senae argues with customers and her husband loudly in front of customers. i could have had an oscar de la renta gown for the price i paid, from a much nicer store. i just feel when you're dropping this much money on a dress, you should be treated nicer. owners need to take a business class.

Pros: modern, beautiful dresses.

Cons: poor service, underwhelming atmosphere

Customer service is terrible--word is getting around town that they are difficult to deal with. You would think that the current economic climate would at least cause them to fake good customer service. If you don't believe me call them, ask for the female owner, and ask her a series of questions. Better yet, ask her about refunds and store credit, etc.

I recently had a dress made at Miosa, as did my best friend. Another friend brought her wedding gown in for alterations. All of us had terrible service, workmanship, and measuring. At least it's ridiculously expensive.

Run!

I was recently int the Miosa Boutique. The gowns are spectacular. Hand made and beautiful fabrics. My only recommendation to the owners is to dress more professionally, and ditch the dead plants and floral arrangements-yuck-o. Keep the place chic like it deserves to be:)

I can not put into words how Increadible Miosa Bridal is.. I just got married on New Year's Eve and Miosa not only made my dress but they made 9 of my bridesmaids. I was so discouraged looking for dresses when i got engaged because I am 6'2'' tall and a plus size.. From the minute I walked in Michael and Sanea (owners) treated me like a queen. The best part about it was they did not have to measure me or start making my dress until 3 weeks before my wedding. (That is what I wanted, they could have done it earlier) I fluctuate weight all the time so I wanted to be as close to the date as possible. And let me tell you, THEY ARE MIRACLE WORKERS. They took the measurements, a week later I had my first fitting and it fit like a glove. I have NEVER in my life EVER felt so beautiful and confident in ANYTHING I wear as I did that day. On my wedding day I could not explain what I felt like. I never tugged or fidgeted once.. It was absolutly perfect and stunning. I dont think any bridal salon on earth could have done what these guys did for me not only to make a stunning, gorgeous and breathtaking dress but for what they did for my peace of mind during the whole wedding planning process.
Then they made 9 very different women look like a million dollars and FEEL like it too. I had each bridesmaid design their dress so it all fit their own body type. EACH ONE was ABSOLUTELY the most amazing dress for each figure. The girls were in love with their dresses and felt amazing (how many girls can say that about a bridesmaid dress). The owners moved mountains to make this wedding increadible. I could not recommend them enough, thank them enough and sing their praise enough to EVER repay them for what they did for me. THANK YOU MIOSA, THANK you Michael and Sanea, you are my angels and I will scream from the roomtops how increadible you guys are.

I have been working with Miosa Couture for over a year now, and they have shown me the best customer service I?ve ever received. The prices are kind of high however, I know if you tell them your budget they will work with it. Every time I had walked into their store I was welcomed kindly and treated with respect. It was almost as if they were so honored to have me as their customer. I brought pictures to show them what I was looking for and they put my dress together off of my ideas, and had me try on a couple of their dresses and I had an idea of what they can do, and I was looking forward to having them make my dress. So we made a sketch of my dress and picked out the material, and I was waiting in anticipation. For a whole year I was wondering what my dress would look like, (they make it in the month of your wedding) until I can finally try on, ?my dress.? The day came to try it on, and it was beautiful, I put it on and it fit like a glove. I was so happy with my dress, I cried. I cannot wait until my wedding day, and I will look like a queen! Thank you Miosa, I love your work, and I love the customer service you have shown me.

Pros: beautiful dress, won't need alterations, easy to find

Cons: a little high in price, and parking was hard to find

In search for the perfect wedding dress, though on a budget, my matron of honor and I stepped into Miosa for a laugh, assuming that I could never afford a coture dress on my budget. As soon as we walked in the door, we were warml;y greeted by their super sweet staff. They listened attentively to the ideas and style that I was looking for. They showed me a beautiful dress that Micahel (one of the owners) had designed a few years ago and I loved the idea of it but was afraid that I couldn't afford it. Michael then joined the discussion and assured me that he not only could work with my budget but also could re-design the dress to make it even more perfect for me. It was a dream come true. Every time I came into the shop, everyone was so helpful and kind. I even brought my now husband in there to get the tuxedos for the wedding. They were so helpful. They bent over backwards to make sure that he got exactly the right style and fit for him and all of our six groomsmen. The tuxedos came in a few days before the wedding and all of the men looked so fabulous. As for my dress, the day I tried on the finished dress, I nearly creid at how beautiful it is. Everyone at our wedding cxouldn't stop raving about how perfect it was. It fit me perfectly. I wore it all day and never felt uncomfortable and it flattered me in every way. My husband says that when I appeared in the church, I looked so beautiful in the dress that it was as if the sun came out. So, our experiences with Miosa as both a bride and a groom were fantastic. We both highly recommed the establishment but even more so we recommend their staff. I can not think of one single negative thing to say. If you are a bride and want the perfect dress made just for you, this is the place to go.

Pros: The staff, the syle, everything

The first time I went there the employee seemed moderately helpful. When I purchased a dress from there, it needed minor alterations after the 1st alteration were completed. The worker (I believe one of the owners), refused to fix them even after I paid for alterations in advance. She hung up on me when I called her. Very rude. The dresses in that store were not nice enough to put up with the 2nd rate service. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The owner of the salon was extremely rude. We ordered suits for the guys in our wedding party. They mismeasured everyone in our wedding party. The suits came in the wrong sizes and the dress shirts did not match. Many were still the wrong sizes again after reorder which made my groom late for the rehearsal dinner. The groom had to wear the sample jacket on the maniquin in the store and it had a broken button. We also had to have some of the rental items (the second reorder) overnighted to the wedding site which didn't arrive until less than 3 hours before the wedding. The owner of the shop was unapologenic. She hung up on me when I asked her for a discount. I would strongly never recommend them. They do not know how to please customers and run a business.

I had visited many different bridal shops, searching for "the dress." I tried on many pretty dresses, however, none of them were "the one." Miosa was actually my last place to visit. I had been searching for dresses for three months and, because of the time constraints, knew I had to order by January. I was amazed by the dresses in Miosa. Each one was crafted with its own signature style and beauty. Shelby and Jennifer were absolutely wonderful. They provided such genuine customer service. I ended up booking an appointment. At my appointment, I met Sanaa and Mike, the owners. Not to my surprise, they too, were just as welcoming and genuine as Jennifer and Shelby. They took their time with me, took my ideas and created "the dress." They were able "put to life" all the ideas that I had for my wedding dress in order to create the dress that would be made just for me. I made another follow-up appointment to share my excitement with my mom and mother-in-law. I left so excited and satisfied. Their patience, creativity, knowledge and excellent customer service resulted in one truely happy soon-to-be bride.

I had my dress custom made by Miosa Couture, and I abosolutely loved it! The owners, Michael & Senea Sommerfield, are both very personable, professional, knowledgeable, and creative! They took one look at me and knew which bridal gown style would look good on me, and they were absolutely right! I had already bought two other dresses from other stores (off the shelf) and never really liked them, but after trying on so many, I just bought them thinking there was no other option. I was wrong. Miosa will also work with you and your budget! Additionally, they are open to your style ideas and even changed a pattern of theirs to accomodate a style change I wanted. At my wedding, and now that everyone is seeing pictures, the first comment people make is how beautiful of a bride I made, immediately followed by "WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DRESS. Where did you get it?" The dress was made for me and to my body and fit me like a glove. The extra detail they put into the dress to make it fit perfectly, yet comfortably, did not go unnoticed by anyone. If you want the dress of your dreams, I highly and wholeheartedly recommend Miosa Couture! I will go back to them for other needed custom made dresses, because their quality, design, and workmanship, not to mention personalities, are top notch and I truly believe the best in Northern California! I will have pictures of me in my dress at their shop the first week in Dec. of 2006, and I encourage you to stop by and take a look yourself; I'm sure you'll agree!

Cons: parking, but I wouldn''t let that stop me!

I ordered a "designer" dress from a competitor, and when it arrived five weeks before my wedding and was nowhere near what I had expected, I was so distraught I thought about putting my wedding on hold until I could get the perfect dress. I had never heard of Miosa, but I drove by their window and saw the most beautiful dress on a mannequin. I decided to see if they could help me. They usually need way more time, but it was meant to be...there was just enough fabric and lace left to make the dress for me right in time. I put my old dress on Ebay, and went ahead with the dress at Miosa. It fit PERFECTLY the first time I tried it on. My whole family cried at the wedding. I would recommend this extremely talented couple to anyone! There is a picture of my dress in the window at Yahoo Local, I put this exact review there too, I want everyone to know what a lifesaver they were!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I had shopped around to SEVERAL other places in the greater Sacramento/Roseville areas and was extremely disappointed in everything I saw. The fabrics looked cheap, the dresses were so cookie cutter and NOTHING made me go "wow." This was until I happened to be referred to MIOSA by another one of our vendors. The MINUTE I walked into the store I knew I had found the place that could make my wedding dress dreams come true. The owners, Michael and Sanea, are truly experts in all aspects of fashion-not just wedding attire. This comes in very handy when looking for that unique dress. I tried on several styles, went back a few times, even CHANGED my dress after putting down the initial deposit and NOT ONCE did they complain, act put out, or even surprised. Each time I called with questions or stopped by the store I was always treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. My dress turned out FANTASTIC and fit like an absolute glove. It truly was the topic of the ceremony and is STILL talked about to this day. The only regret I have is that I only plan on getting married once and will never be able to buy another wedding gown from them again!!! :( If you want the best dress and the best service don't bother to go anywhere else-MIOSA IS SUPERB!

I read the reviews and felt compelled to comment--
I bought my dress at Miosa. I always admired the dresses in the window, and fell in love with one in particular. I was afraid to go in because I thought for sure it was out of my budget. I stopped by on a lunch break for fun and spoke to the female owner about the dress, and I found her to be very sweet even though they were busy, and willing to work within my budget. I found out that they design and sew them all at the store, and if I bought one it would be made custom made for me. The dress I loved was around $4000, but it was mostly because it was made out of a heavy expensive silk. I preferred a lighter natural silk because I was getting married in a garden, so we changed the fabric, and I added buttons (I really wanted buttons in the back), which brought the total cost for everything to just under $2400. The design process was so much fun. My dress fit perfectly since it was made for me (it even had a built in corset, so I didn't have to find a strapless bra). I couldn't believe that something like this existed in Sac. I cant imagine having gone to some store to spend more for something made in some general size that hundreds of other girls would have bought. Whenever I look at my pictures, I remember that everyone commented that the dress looked like it was designed for me, and that it fit my personality so wellit was, and it did. I have and would recommend these designers to anyone.

Pros: beautiful options, pretty, relaxed environment (no sales people)

Cons: parking garage or metered parking (but they carry out your dress for you!)

I recently stopped in at Miosa Couture to look at wedding gowns, I had been to every bridal salon in Sacramento and didn't find anything that came close to comparing to the dresses at Miosa.

My friend purchased her wedding gown from Miosa and I can not tell you how amazing the experience was. Not only was every detail covered to design the perfect gown for her but the owners were so to fun work with. They made many suggestions to work in the budget my friend had to spend. I am definately going to purchase my gown from Miosa when I get married.

I went into this salon looking for a wedding gown and the woman who we spoke to, i believe she was the owner, was extremely rude. The minute she found out i was not willing to spend $5000.00 on a wedding gown she basically snubbed my friend and I. It seriously felt like a scene out of Pretty Woman. She has no idea who we were and the lack of respect was appauling. I would never suggest this place to anyone. Working in retail I know how important customer service is and this woman's complete lack thereof is embarrassing.
