I start salavating like a damn dog whenever I think of The Bucket. Julio's mustard sauce in my burger and with my fries with a tall cold beer. It's like a summer picnic in my mouth!

Ok...So i finally tried what some foodie reviewers were describing as LA's best burger. I stopped in for some lunch and luckily they were open. I guess their hours are a bit vague. I ordered the Bucket burger w/chedder and fries. First up

Obviously you people have the wrong idea about a real burger stand. I grew up around the Bucket with Julio cooking. Drank one of my first beers on his patio, and that was a long time ago. Glad to see that the stand is carrying on. I hope

The Bucket simply rocks. I try to go at least once a month. Would go more often but it's kind of out of the way in Eagle Rock.\r

Killer place to get a burger. Big, thick, juicy, hand-pressed patties charbroiled to perfection. Made any way you want: Grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, ham, bacon, all sorts of good stuff. Your choice of cheeses, too: American, Swiss, or cheddar. Or you can opt for one of the house-style burgers, my favorite being the Cardiac, a real must if this is your first visit. The fries are killer, too. Sliced fresh, they come two ways: chips or fries. They also have draft beer. I read some of the other reviews and have to disagree with them. This place is neither scary nor right out of an L.A. gang movie. (Are you guys serious?) The owner, a young man himself, attracts a younger crowd. Which is not to say that his clientele are all young people. This establishment brings in all walks of life: young, old, tattooed, not tattoed. Kind of like anywhere else in Los Angeles, really. I have been there well over a dozen times in the past six months and never witnessed anyone throwing up gang signs. That's pretty funny. My girl goes there with her girlfriends -- they don't find the place scary. If you are looking for a great burger and you are near Eagle rock -- even if you're not -- you've got to hit this place. Best damn burger in Los Angeles.

PROS: Great burgers, great fries.
CONS: Not closer to my house.

Simply put, there is no better burger in LA. I've been twice, and there has been no wait, great service, and cold beer. Ivan has added a few micros from Pasadena that go great with the burgers. The only thing I would change is to toast

A couple of college buddies (OXY) and I decided to try this place out one Saturday. I mean it is called the "Bucket." It was like walking into an East LA gang movie. The guy who took our order called me a dirty name, when I asked for no tomatoes. Some guy at a table next to ours was talking about problems with his neighbor who was selling drugs and keeping him up a night. Lowered cars would pull up and a big group at the front would shout catcalls and flash what looked like gang signs, but in all fairness I do not know what gang signs are. I do however know what the middle finger means and I saw that frequently. When our burgers came out mine had tomatoes, I did not say anything. The burger was the best burger I have every had. The fries were great. I have never been back.
