5I have nothing to say about the service department, as I have not had to deal with them, yet. I can only pray that it will be a better experience than purchasing a vehicle here. I recently purchased a used car, and I had to finance it. Never in my life have I dealt with more incompetence. Nobody seems to have a clue as to what is going on. I will admit that this was not an easy transaction. I had to have a cosigner, and I had a trade in. Still, they act as if they have never financed a car. There is a terrible case of lack of communication, and as a result, they lost my title for my trade in, and they accused me of never giving it to them. They have called me back on numerous occasions for paperwork that they "forgot" to have me sign. Either they lied to me about the extended warranty I purchased, or they are just too stupid to know what they are selling. I expect car dealerships to be a hassle, and to only care about making a sale, but this experience has been an absolute nightmare. Their lack of professionalism personifies their lack of credibility. So far, the car is great (knock on wood), but if you need to finance a vehicle, go through your bank. Otherwise, pay cash.

Your car purchasing experience depends largely on the salesperson you deal with here. There are some good, and some irritating ones. I found that the service was superior when I was shopping for a car, but after I'd made the purchase the salesperson suddenly stopped returning my calls (I had a minor issue that I wanted to discuss about the vehicle). I'm not surprised, but still - it's disappointing.

Yes, service is expensive here -- but no more than at any other Volvo dealer. What we like at Volvo of Santa Monica is that you can have the same service writer each time, so they get to know you -- and your car. It makes it a lot easier each time you go in.

Superstar service for the non superstars in LA. They always take care of everything and are one step ahead of me. Your car will be returned when promised.
