I'm giving 5 stars based on my personal experience I continue to have with a the one person I deal with there. This person's communication skills, courtesy and understanding of my needs and price range are unparalleled.

I've shopped here a few times. They always have what I need at this store. I usually can't find anything on my own so I always have to ask somebody. They have been helpful in the things I need.

Wow...Samy's is very fortunate to have an employee like Jimmy working for them. A worker like that is truly hard to come by these days, an employee with such a great attitude and genuine desire to assist the customer! Every time I am in your store, whether assisting me or another customer, he exudes Customer Service Level 10. Love Jimmy! Love Samy's!

I had a very satisfactory camera-buying experience, over a few days last week, when nothing was 'on sale' but still I got a fair deal upon buying my first digital point & shoot (with manual settings options.) I phoned first, and was referred to Jerry in the camera dept. Both on phone and in person he was solid, considerate, and even funny, he left instructions for someone else to help me on his day off, and so forth. Between him and my own research I came away with a deal on the camera, after-market battery and memory card(s) for professional and personal use. As with any purchase anywhere, you gotta ask good questions to get good results. I'm loving that camera!! I'll return to the CC Samy's. (My first Samy's experience).

Top of the line equipment and experts in both photo and video products. They offered expert advice on the state of the art equipment and helped me figure out the best solution for my needs.

This store has moved to Culver City, into the old Allied Train building, but it is still a great camera store. Good selection of digital paper. I usually find the staff very professional. Come here for all your photography needs.

I've only dealt with this store over the phone, but it's been great. I needed a lens and flash ASAP that was out of stock locally. The manager came through, matched website pricing and walked it through shipping so I'd get it on time. A week or so later, I needed a release cable that nobody had in stock and I had to do several shoots with long exposures. Again manager found a generic one and sent it to me. Plus they've answered lots of questions in between on my cameras, whether I bought it there or not. Not even going to bother with my local store anymore.

My wife thinks I'm obsessed, but I call it just being very passionate about my hobby! I love to take pictures of everything! From our children to the tree on the side of the road, I love to take pictures! Samys is my one stop shop for everything I need. I got all my cameras here and everything else I've ever needed. I highly recommend this place! 5 stars!!!

This is a super cool store. They have so much stuff! I've been here many times and it's always great. I would recommend it to anyone.

Samy's Camera in Culver City is great. I came in right before closing and Jerry S was more than willing to help me. I had lost my charger to my digital camera and although the camera was discontinued he took the time to find a charger that would work. People should really stick to these "smaller" specialized business' not only is their pricing reasonable but their customer service is fantastic!!! Next time you have a question or are looking for anything camera related try Samy's.

My friend and I were helped by Jerry Salinas who was extremely knowledgeable but also able to speak in terms we could understand. He showed us 4 different cameras that had features we were looking for and gave a comprehensive explanation of the differences. He also gave us a quick overview of how to work the camera we finally chose. Plus, he took the time to set the date and time for us. Couldn't have asked for more.

I walked in a bit bewildered not knowing what I was going to purchase but knew that it was time to go from film to digital...how I hate to part with my dear old friend the canon film camera. Yet from the moment I walked into Samy's, Gerry Salinas read my face and came to my rescue. For the next two hours or so, he was patient, helpful, and walked me thru cameras best for my needs. Though I spent more then I intended to, and still a bit shocked at the camera I purchased but excited to practice and feel as comfortable with my Canon 7D as with my ancient film. Thanks Gerry for your help and guidance. I'll probably call you with additional questions.

The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and funny! When I had questions they were able to answer them and even had a few suggestions for me based on what I was asking.

He was super knowledgeable, helped me troubleshoot my problems to figure out what to purchase and even chased after me when I left the store without my charger. A+ service, definitely will be back

The people that work there are introverted-know-it all about cameras. They really don't have any people skills. It's best to have done your research about a particular camera prior to visiting there b/c you'll inadvertently be made felt to be dumb. I've only gone to this one outfit in venice & have yet to experience their customer service at the other locations. I will say that when I made a phone call to the one in Pasadena, they "seemed" to be a bit more friendly. But then again one wont really know until you get there.The selection isn't bad. So long as you have 4 cameras to compare to each other I think that you're fine. ANything more than that is just too much to keep up with.

If you're coming here for rentals, they have a variety of video equipment but not much in the way of still photography (you have to go to their Fairfax location for that). Still, their staff was friendly and I got a really good deal on my camera, which included a photo printer and a year's worth of digital prints. Their prices were reasonable but I have to go to their Fairfax location for rentals.

Samy's has just about everything a professional photographer would need unless, of course, you actually need some information. The supplies people seem friendly enough, but the fellas behind the camera counter seem universally disinterested in actually selling you anything. I've gone there several times to buy cameras and camera equipment and have always been blown away by the level of disrespect and aloofness I'm greeted with. For a specialty shop to offer high prices without the personal service to justify it is unforgivable to me. If you want salespeople who will ask you questions, give you detailed explainations of their products and offer sound advice, go to Bel-Air Camera. If you do your research on-line so you don't need the knowledge of an informed staff, save yourself a few bucks and go to Best Buy. If you want the worst of both worlds, check out Samy's.

Samy's is a great camera shop. They have the inventory and the smarts to be able to handle nearly any kind of request. From the basic family setup to the professional quality, they have it all.
