I use to work for Yum Yum fish and so did one of my friends.
3 words of caution: MASSIVE RODENT PROBLEM.
The place is not sanitary and a lot of the stuff is contaminated.
Before closing every night the boss puts out some rat poisoning onto some avocados on a tray. In the morning, they wash off the rats droppings (which is everywhere) on the floor but they don't clean the container area and the cloth that is used to wipe the bowls and sushi plates, more than once, I've seen rat droppings in the cloth bag.
I'm honestly surprised that no one has gotten sick yet. Aside from the rats, there are also a lot of flies and the overall cleanliness of the place is almost none existent.
Yum yum fish use to be one of my favorite places to go to but a few years back, they changed owners and it has gone down hill from there.
The sushi is good but after working for them, I stopped eating there. Thought about reporting them but didn't want to get into the mess.
If you value your health, eat elsewhere

Pros: Cheap Sushi
Cons: The cost of your health
Yum Yum Fish is a fantastic place to find great sushi, great service, great value. Owned by people who know the art of simplicity and authentic sushi.
4I drive from the east bay to get their fresh salmon sashimi. My wife, who is not a fan of any fish let alone raw... And she loves Yum Yum salmon sashimi

You wouldn't know it by looking at this place, but it serves some of the best sushi in the city and at great prices. Keep an eye out for the O-Toro Nigiri, which is definitely world class.
5This place is a must if you live in the sunset or richmond districts. The fish is always fresh and delicious, and if you order by the pound (or half, or quarter pound) it is so cheap it's practically daylight robbery. seriously, a pound of

New to the city and had to find fresh fish because there are so many sushi restaurants in the city. This shop is actually a fish shop that has a sushi chef making sushi mostly togo. There are 3 small tables so not ideal for large group

Pros: cheap, fresh, fast
Cons: not much seating, no ambiance
Hands down, my favorite "quickie" sushi place. The sushi here is cheap, fresh, and fairly creative. I love the yellowtail with mango roll, for example. Prices can't be beat, and the fish is the freshest I've had. This isn't a place for

Pros: cheap, ultra fresh, quick

Yum Yum Fish is Japanese owned and operated. It's 1/2 fish market, 1/2 sushi counter, so the fish used in the sushi is extremely fresh, and is sold at or near wholesale price. For example, a 2-piece order of maguro here is $2.40; at any

Pros: Fresh fish, Tastes good, Cheap
Cons: Not a "restaurant", Closes by 7:30
Bar none the best quality fish in the city, the bay area, or perhaps the world !
One can easily spend three times as much for sushi that is almost (but not quite) as good, sure you will get 'ambiance' and a 'waiter' -- but if you want

Pros: Fresh, Fast, Inexpensive
Cons: Other People, Eating All The, Yummy Fish
With the exception of the sushi place on the 100 block of rue Dauphine in Paris, this is the best sushi spot in the world . . . and it's less expensive. Akiko's (Mason Street) also is out of this world, but Yum Yum Fish is the cheapest

Most of the business here is takeout. The sushi business shares space with a tiny fish market. You can fit 2-3 at the tiny tables for a quick lunch bite but not really a dine-in kind of place. Their prices went up again recently and a

Doesn't get better than Yum Yum. Large portions and low prices. Very limited seating though.
Look for the O-Toro.

Of fish, that is (of football, France is no longer). You can't beat this place for sushi freshness and value - I don't care if they've raised their prices. The market has never disappointed me either - I consistently drive across town

Pros: Fresh fish, Great value, No Fuss
Cons: Horrible parking
This is a fish market with a small sushi eatery. I've been going there for over 6 years and I still love it. The sushi is made right there and everything is fresh. Unfortunately, there are only four small tables, but it's quaint. :)

Even after raising their prices this is one of the best sushi takeout bargains in town -- there are one or two tables in what is basically a fish market that sells rolls, nigiri, chowder, what have you. If you are having a party you can
