I like this rink and the one in downtown during winter. It's a very clean family friendly place to skate and there's always lessons going on if you don't know how to skate. They have certain theme nights which are fun and remind me of skate rinks from back in my childhood.

The SDIA is a great place to skate. They offer a wide variety of group lessons from small children to adults.... beginners to advanced skaters. They also have a great coaching staff if you are interested in private lessons. You can take lessons to learn how to skate, to figure skate, ice dance, play hockey and more. The public sessions can be crowded, especially on the weekends. They've got lots of private ice you can use for lessons, etc. The ice is not so hot and it is definitely old, but I hear they are closing for a month or two at the end of this year to upgrade the ice :-)

The San Diego Ice Arena is one of the best places for ice skating. Every day they dedicate their ice to teams such as Team Del Sol (the prominent girls team) as well as other recreational skaters. They are a great place to start or continue a skating career at.
5Aside from being slightly overcrowded with fifth graders the ice arena the ice arena provides for a good blast from the past. The service is satisfactory and the place overall is nothing special.
