Skye did my updo and makeup for my wedding. I was visiting from out of town so had never been to the salon before. It was very expensive, but I was so happy with the results. Skye was so friendly and really worked to make my wedding

I don't know why this salon has such a high rating. I think stylists asks their clients to write good reviews about them so they can get more clients for themselves out of this.
My stylist did a HORRIBLE job on my hair. Her name is Christina. She gave me a very unflattering haircut and now I have bad hair days all the time. I have to put so much styling products just to get it to work until it grows out again. She also damaged my hair with the color and now my hair has so much breakage and split ends. The chemicals were either way too harsh or I was left under the drier too long. Every time I look at my hair now I want to cry! Maybe some stylists are good here (I don't want to put down all of them) but I will never go back because of Christina. She destroyed my hair. I hope she gets fired. Whatever you do, DON'T HAVE CHRISTINA DO YOUR HAIR! She is supposedly a senior stylist but she is the WORST stylist I ever had! My hair has all these uneven lengths now, the color is faded, and it looks so fried.
I don't recommend this salon at all. Not only did I have a horrible experience with my hair, but the salon itself is so loud, the stylists are all over the place, and they keep pushing you to but all of their expensive hair products. My hair is now awful thanks to Cinta Salon. When my friends see my hair they are shocked at how badly damaged it is inside out. I tell them and I'll warn you, avoid this salon and avoid that idiot Christina like the plague!

I have been bleaching my hair blonde for nearly ten years and I never had a problem until Christina started coloring my hair, retouching my dark roots when they would grow out. I started seeing her early last year 2008 and in the beginning it was okay but after a few visits, she started getting lazy and didn't give her undivided attention to my hair. She left the bleach in too long on my roots and it overlapped on previously bleached hair. When this happened a lot of my hair broke off near the roots and I ended up with all these short hairs on the top of my head. She also had me come every 6 weeks for touch ups which was a big mistake. I listened because I thought she knew what she was doing. Every stylist I talked to since then said you should wait at least 8-10 weeks between touch ups. It's as if she just wanted her job to be easier and didn't really care about her clients hair. When I started noticing my hair break off and told her about it, she suggested I do a high lift tint which would lighten my hair without bleach. She said that way my hair wouldn't get damaged and I "won't end up with a mullet." I am not kidding. Those were her actual words. Again I listened because I though she knew what she was doing. She didn't. I ended up having an inch of orange hair on top of my long blonde hair. And when my dark roots grew out I had 3 different colors; brow, orange, and blonde! It was hideous! I could have done a better job with a bottle from Walgreen's if I did it myself and with a fraction of the cost, and trust me I have done that before! That was the last time (6 months ago) I ever visited and will ever visit Cinta Salon. When I complained about the damage that Christina did to my hair, they refunded me the money from my last appointment but that could not undo all of the breakage that was done to my hair which will take 2-3 years to grow back.
I now go to a different salon that is a little more expensive but at least I know the stylists know what they are doing. A little extra money is worth the peace of mind I get knowing my hair won't be butchered to death. My stylist was able to correct the color that Christina did and now my hair is a nice even golden blonde. He also is very careful with the bleach. He doesn't leave it on too long and it doesn't burn my scalp. I just have to be extremely patient and wait for my short hair to grow back to the length that it once was so it can match the rest of my hair. I still can't even get it all in a ponytail.
I'm not a vain person but I always loved getting compliments on my hair. Since Christina ruined my hair I hardly ever get compliments on it anymore. She even had the nerve to push all this high end product on me so I can "save my hair" which wouldn't have needed to be saved in the first place if she knew what she was doing. When I first started seeing Christina, she asked me if I could write a good review on her on yelp. Obviously I have since removed it. How tacky that you have to ask your clients to write a good review about you? A good stylist would never need to do that. That's like changing a failing grade in school. It's too bad because I used to give her a really good tip, 30% every time. What a waste of money and what an incompetent hairstylist! Senior Stylist my shoe!
My only hope by writing this review is that no one else will have to go through all the trauma that I went through with my hair. Christina is an extremely incompetent hairstylist who shouldn't be allowed to touch anyone's hair with a ten foot pole.
My hair was DESTROYED thanks to Cinta Salon and if this review hurts their business then so be it. I really don't care...they deserve it. Save your hair and save your money: Don't get your hair done at Cinta Salon!

I've been to a lot of mani/pedicurists in this city (even those ranked "the best" by this website) and I always come back to Lihn and Swan when I want it done right. It's $60 and it's well worth it. If you're looking for more than just some scented lotions and a quick color change, come to Lihn and Swan. I'm a runner and climber and they take such good care of my abused feet! They take care of ingrowns without me having to say anything and their color application is perfect everytime.

I've been recommending this place to all my friends. It's pricey but i've had consistently great haircuts and highlights. I recommend Sara for both color and cut - she's great.

I absolutely love Cass' haircuts. And her attitude and skill are unparalled. It's such a great experience going to see her for haircuts. She's especially good with angled cuts and always does such a great job with my short hair. But beware, she charged $92 a pop, which can get pricey. But she's certainly worth it every so often :).

This was the WORST updo experience ever. In the past, I've given CINTA the benefit of the doubt, and because of so many recommendations, I have gone back again and again to try different stylists and even paid $94 for a haircut from a "mentor". NOT WORTH IT. This last experience was awful and drove me to never go back. They charged me $70 for an updo, which was done by a stylist. She clearly didn't know what she was doing, and when I asked if she did updo's regularly, she said that she was actually a COLORIST! The worst part is that my "updo" fell apart 10 minutes after I walked out.

-inexperienced stylists
-pricey
-no service

I've going to this salon for the past 6 years & will continue doing so. Fortunately, I have never experienced anything negative at this salon. Tried several other salons, but none have beat Cinta Salon. Cass has been doing my hair for the past 2 years and always does an exceptional job. She is extremely sweet and a great listener. Not only do I love this salon, but now my mother does too (since Aug'05)! Very professional and great hairsylists, colorist, and estheticians! (Tad pricy but worth it - to me at least)

San Francisco has so many Hair Salon, so I didn't know, where to go.
I went there, because it was "told" "chic"
But ladies and gentlemen, "chic is in: St Tropez or Milan or Paris or London" but this cinta was una favella.

and my hair stay one hour.

No thanks

Pros: learn how to style, are not stylist

Cons: very expensive, no respect

The quality of the cut and the overall experience did not warrant the amount that I paid for the "mentor" stylist. If I'm going to pay $94, I expect to have the stylist with me from beginning to end. Instead, I was mostly taken care of by the mentor's assistant. His cut was good but not great. Furthermore, the blowdrying was subpar; the moment I got home, my hair was already a mess. The salon does not live up to its hype and I will not return here.

I have never been so happy about my hair! My color was exactly what I wanted, and my cut is perfect. The shampoo was even relaxing and enjoyable. I would recommend Cinta 100%! Not only did I leave with my hair looking the best its ever looked, but the price was about 1/2 of what I have been paying at a different salon. Amylynn and Season were wonderful!

I have been to many hair salons and have paud very pricy rates for not so good cuts. This was the first place that I really felt that the rates were worth it. Teresa is excellent and she expertly knew what to do with my hair and the perfect cut to give. Everyone at Cinta is extremely friendly and, unlike some other comments I read, I am not put off by them leaving products for you to buy at the end. I see them as merely suggestions and sometimes I do buy them and sometimes not. I have never been pressured into buying extra items. I plan on going here for a very long time.

i went in wanting a pixie cut and walked out with my hair completely butchered. i'm used to having short hair too, so i'm definitely not skiddish when it comes to getting my hair cut. this was the first time, i almost felt like crying as i walked out of the salon. i've been to this salon several times before and my cut would always need a couple of weeks to set in and look good. this place is overrated and expensive. i think they charge a lot for their location and "atmosphere". other than that, the hair cutting is sub-par.

I decided to try Cinta salon after seeing the high ratings on Citysearch. My haircut and highlights set me back about $300 and the results were average at best. My color was barely visible, and the cut was nothing to speak of. Needless to say, I won't be going back to Cinta anytime soon!!

Cinta Salon is very much top notch. You get what you pay for in this instance. Though this is very pricey for a hair cut, I really feel like I've never had a better style. I see Irena who really listens to what I want, suggests things that are flattering, and does an excellent job cutting. All staff are friendly and attentive. I won't go anywhere else!

I tagged along as my friend got her haircut at Cinta and the staff were so friendly even though I wasn't a customer. That drew me and their hairstyling team is great! Amy-Lin was great in helping me finding a color and is super sweet. I was kind of indecisive with my haircut, I wanted so much stuff and Libby was able to give me a style fits my style, my routine and that compliments my face. I love the atmosphere. I would recommend people to go there if they want a great cut and a friendly atmosphere.

For some reason, she (the hair stylist classfied as mentor) decide to do whateven with what she wanted with my hair without consulting me. I'm having the worst hair cut in fifteen years. I hope I would be able to correct the hair cut after few months. On the back of my head, the longest hair is three times longer than the shortest hair. Want to know how I feel about the her professional skill - she is a desiaster if you need a hair cut.

After you walk a flight of stairs, you will enter a very amazing shop. It looks like it is hidden for VIP guests. To make sure you get an appointment, you should reserve a timeslot online. You can wax for arms, legs, and just about anywhere on your body. They are known for brow threading. It costs 26 dollars to get your brows done that way.

I paid 300 for a haircut and highlights. When finished, my highlights weren't even visible. The woman who started on me stated that she didnt have time to comb through my hair and that I should have done it before I came! I had made my appointment several weeks in advance. A total of 4 woman worked on me, none were friendly, all were snotty as though they had more important things to do. They cancelled my brow threading, which forced me to get a waxing ( which caused a reaction). I didnt see a single smile from any of them. I don't recommend this place at all, it was an awful experience.

I've been a Cinta client for a couple of years. I've had manicures and pedicures as well as regular haircuts with Arvin. I've found everyone there to be very warm and professional. Arvin's attention to detail is fantastic and I'm always happy with my cut. It is expensive, but not more so than comparable salons in the area. Plus it is close to my office and easy to get an appointment.

I have been going to Cinta for years to get my eyebrows threaded by Bhavna and I can't recommend her enough. Forget waxing, it is so harsh on the skin. I used to have welts after waxing with other aestheticians -- some have even ripped skin off. Yikes! So I said forget it. Bhavna is such a master with a piece of thread, it's amazing. And she can sculpt brows better than anyone I've ever seen. Plus, the people at Cinta have always been very kind.

This salon has a lot to offer. Besides offering haircuts and highlights, this salon also has skincare, mani/pedi, make-up, bronzing, waxing/threading, and mendhi services.

I always go to Bhavna to get my brows done. She's terrific. Cinta is only one of a few salons that offer threading.

I've also been here to get my hair cut. I've tried a couple of the stylists there. Of all the ones I've tried, Arvin was the best (no shocker there...he was also one of the more expensive.) Cuts range from $55 for a stylist to $85 for a mentor. If that's a little too steep for your taste, ask them about setting up a trainee cut. I got one from a trainee for about half the price and I was just as satisfied.

Cinta offers booking online, which is very convenient.

PROS:
CONS: Prices tend to creep up ever so often.

My friend recommended me to Cinta salon after reading about it in Allure magazine. Loving her hair, I too made an appointment wanting to get a similar style. My new look came out better than I ever imagined. Jeanette gave me the best highlights and Kristi gave me a great cut. My husband is still complimenting me on my new look. Thank you Cinta Salon.

I strayed to this salon after reading about it in Allure and I'm shocked at how bad my haircut was. My "layered bob" had no layers at all and my hair was an inch and a half shorter on one side! My usual stylist took me back, fixed it, and I will never leave her again...

I felt like I was on a conveyor belt when I got my hair cut. One person shampoo'd, a different person cut, an entirely different person blew my hair dry. While the haircut itself was fine, I just didn't feel like I was getting any sort of personal attention. Plus, when I went to the counter to pay, there was a line of products on the counter that the receptionists assumed I was going to purchase simply because the stylist told her those were the one's used on my hair. Everything from shampoo to gel and hairspay. I felt embarrassed to have to tell her that I wasn't interested in purchasing the products. It just wasn't a pleasant expereince. I won't be back.

I've been going for almost a year now. I have long hair that needs lots of attention to stay not-frizzy. Cass is so nice and professional. The ladies in the salon are very nice, laid back, and not snooty. The best product I have ever used on my hair was recommended to me there but there is not a lot of pressure to buy. Love the massage that comes along with the hair wash, totally relaxing. It is a bit more than I would like to pay, but I think it's worth it - lots of things are a bit more than I would like to pay - and it's definitely not way out there in terms of cost.

This is a fairly fancy-schmancy salon (they literally offer $20 eyebrow waxing) just off Union Square. I've only been to Katie Somera (followed her there from her previous salon because she's so good). She does a great job with both cut (I've experimented with various short 'dos) and highlights. Apparently she teaches classes there to some of the new stylists. As long as you go in with some idea and description of what you want, she can generally run with it and will make sure that it suits your facial structure and hair-type. She's also fun to talk to!

I have lived in SF for years and have been to almost all of the high-end salons . I met with Christy and had the best experience ever. I am a creature of habit when it comes to my hair and walked in looking to have my usual cut. Christy made me feel comfortable from the start, she was so patient and answered all my questions. Needless to say she helped me completely change my look! I have the best cut and highlights ever... just in time for the holidays :)!

I had my haircut with Arvin, and he did a fabulous job. Great attention to detail, modern cut, he is very professional and nice, and he makes you feel so good, just by being there. That is exactly what one needs when going somewhere to beautify themselves, to hear that they look good and sexy.
Am very happy with the experience, and will go back.

My haircut with Arvin is still perfect 4 weeks later, he paid such attention to detail and I got exactly what I wanted. This is a very pleasent salon, modern and upbeat. I am looking forward to my next visit.

My friend and I had the best pedicure ever at cinta. The pedicure area is set up so we could both have our service done side by side in a nice quite area of an otherwise busy salon. We both felt the service was great and will do it again as it is a great way to get some time together while having our tired feet taken care of, and these women really know how to give a great pedicure.

I have been going to Cinta for two years. I am very picky about my hair and I see Dympna, who consitently gives me a better cut than the 'name' stylists I used to go to in NY who charge twice the price. I have also referred several of my friends to Cinta. None of them see Dympna, but they are also now loyal clients to whomever they see (one sees Cass, I think). Great salon, would never go anywhere else.

I have been going to Cinta Salon to the same Esthetician, Irena Vayn for 8 over years. I highly recommend Cinta's to anyone, especially those from out of town looking for a reliable and trustworthy salon that the locals frequent. Cinta's provides all services from facials to waxing, manicure and pedicure, hair treatments and make-up.

I had been going to Cinta Salon for 5 years before moving out of the area, and miss this salon so terribly! I had seen many stylists over the years, but my favorite and most recent had been Marcus. He is so personable, and makes me feel like a million bucks whenever I get my hair cut! He is very skilled and uses his own creativity, but also follows your requests for the look you want. End results are always fabulous! Cinta Salon staff are also fantastic, and pretty much anyone you get a cut with are awesome as well. Best salon in the city with a convenient location downtown between Powell and Montgomery stops!

if you want to get a really good haircut you have to request Noel. it truely is the stylist and not the salon. there has been so many changes with the staff that i no longer recognize anyone except for Noel. it is pretty pricey but it's worth it if you want to spend the money.

First, let me say that I have worked for 10 years at two upscale salons, so I have very high standards. Cinta met and exceeded my high expectations. I was visiting San Francisco for a formal evening wedding and wanted to have my hair styled. I only had a small window of time available that day and the front desk took very good care of me. Liam, who styled my hair was wonderful! He created the style exactly how I imagined it. He was also very personable. Everyone at the wedding complimented me on how nice my hair looked. The salon itself was also beautiful and clean. If in the area again, I know exactly where to go.

This salon is so cute, overlooking Grant & Market. My consultant, Noel was fabulous and my cut turned out better than all those magazine clippings I ripped out. Everyone was so nice, I will definitely recommend this salon!

This is the first time I used Citysearch to find a Salon in San Francisco. My impression of Cinta Salon was not that great. However, Master Stylist Hang gave me an amazing haircut. She was very attentive and detailed and nice too! The salon was a little too hectic for me but Hang definitely made it worth while.

I actually loved my last haircut (from another salon out of state) and needed to get a trim. I went to Cinta thinking the professionals there would understand service & customer needs. When I explained that I just wanted a trim to the stylist, Heng, she ARGUED with me -- saying, "what will be the change then??" I said I didn't WANT a change...that was the whole point. I just wanted a trim. We went back and forth for awhile with her actually refusing to cut my hair if I was going to be critical of what she was doing. In the end, I ended up with a cut much more layered and different than what I started with. I was very disappointed and upset because whose hair is it anyway? Certainly not the stylist's....

I've been going to this salon for about 4 years and have always been impressed with the fun yet professional atmosphere. Over the years they have added more services. I receive the best wax here! They even have a student training program.

I tried Cinta, because the expensive, high-end salon that everyone was recommending did not work out for me at, despite which stylist I saw. I saw Kass and she was wonderful. She asked me what I wanted to do with my hair. She explained everything that she was going to do and asked if I had any questions. The she gave me a very relaxing scalp massage. I almost fell asleep. She offered me a drink and when I accepted she got it without getting huffy or anything. I loved my cut and the way she styled it. I will definately go back and recommend her to all my friends. The cost of the cut was $50 and $10 for the tip. That was much less than what I was paying.

I saw Jackie, a senior stylist at Cinta, and I got the best haircut I've had in a very long time. I had been going to another upscale salon for almost 10 years, and found myself in a hairstyle-rut. Jackie fixed all that. I would highly recommend Jackie. She's ab fab!

I went as a hair model, since I was unwilling to risk paying a hefty sum for a possibly ok cut. However, I was pleasantly surprised. With a mentor looking on, a trainee gave me what I asked for, and more. I had wanted a trim, and she did that, giving me great dramatic layers in front, and giving me tips on how to keep my hair looking great. Two hours later, I went to work and everyone commented on how great my hair looked. I'm definitely going back again...
