Golden Dragon Restaurant

Location is prime, Dim Sum is not good, and the service is bad. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Great place to have dim sum. They open early for breakfast/lunch. If you like dim sum, you are in for a treat. The best dishes they have is probably the ha gow and siu mai. Their service is great, the food is delicious and the restaurant if very clean. They are also in a prime location in the heart of Chinatown.

The Golden Dragon has been opened in San Francisco for quite some time. There a local icon in San Francisco, however you can find much better restaurants in San Francisco. There dishes aren't anything special, and seem quite bland in taste. There bathrooms are also really unpleasant to be in, sorta due to the way they had designed there location of there bathrooms, however its still disguising. Tourist probably would give it a shot, however I highly recommend trying out other places in the neighborhood.

One of the worst restaurants ever and this is in regards to the dim sum hours of the restaurant. First off, terrible customer service. Lots of waiters and waitresses but they take their time in doing everything and dont really care about the job. Second, food is terrible. Same food that goes around all the time. Not much selection and food is only on the warm side, not fresh hot from the oven. Third, prices are way jacked up. The food is not worth that much! It doesn't taste that great, just average, plus the portions are way tiny! Go and check it out if you don't trust me but dont say you werent warned.

PROS: convenient location,non-Chinese might find it acceptable
CONS: Never going back there again

they have a buffet for $9 weekdays and $11 weekends, the buffet looked kind of scary but then they came around with all the fresh steamed dim sum on little carts and it was all included in the buffet so we got it. we didnt really eat

The seafood in this restaurant is great. The fish soup is yummy and healthy. There are various cooking types of crabs. The salty and pepper one is especially good. Very authentic Hong Kong style food.

I took a peek around lunchtime and only found less than 20 people dining. Nobody was in the buffet. They advertised more than 30 dimsum selections, but I only saw less than 10. The food didn't look fresh. It looked like it had been sitting

While wandering around SF's Chinatown looking for a hearty Dim Sum brunch, we were fortunate enough to stumble onto Golden Dragon.
The food was excellent. A wide variety of Dim Sum treats, all very tasty.

Golden Dragon may not be the cleanest restaurant or have the best service, but it is a great place to get dim-sum on a weekend afternoon. The food is excellent and the price is well below some of the more upscale dim-sum spots around SF.
