5not really sure how anyone can hate this place. great sandwiches(recommend the Lyndsey special) awesome beer selection, and all for a fair price. funny how people say its pricey. the would probably complain about free food if they could

Great place to shop....
2Great place to shop....
My sister recently moved to the gorgeous neighborhood of Del Cerro, and we went to Windmill Farms today to order grab some lunch, since she lives so close.
We ordered 4 "kid combo' sandwiches, all on wheat (healthier, and my son has certain allergies that make wheat better than white for him, and sides of macaroni salad, which is what the "combo" is all about.....
About 10 minutes into it, another deli girl waves me down and states "the kids sandwiches are only on white"....
me: "you're kidding right?".....
her: "no"....
me: "seriously, you are a deli and can't put it in on wheat even though there are about 10 different breads to choose from?"...
her:"yup"....
me:"okay, where's your manager so i can discuss this with them?"
her "we don't have a manager..."....
I look at my sister and look back at girl, and she then says...."okay, i'll do it then."....
so we wait some more, and another 7 minutes pass, and she calls me over and then says...
"because you want wheat bread, you're not allowed to have any sides"...
me: "you are kidding again, right?"...
her: "no"...
me: "just forget about it, we'll take our money elsewhere.....
So I went to the front cashier and asked to speak to the manager about this whole ordeal, practically in tears because I just couldn't believe what happened, and I think his name was "Mike" says..."oh, i can comp you the sandwiches"...
I say "no thanks, i have just had the worst customer experience ever, the last thing i want are sandwiches from here...."
he says "I will "talk" to them about it."....and that was that.
I walked out and ate down the street at the awesome Mexican Place, and thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. Of note, the dry cleaner lady right next to the grocery store overheard me discussing my experience with my friend, and said that she has had a rude experience with the deli counter people as well.
I am both shocked and sad that this is what our customer service in our society has come too. I'm just a girl who wanted to order some healthy, yummy food for my kids, and you get these entitled brats servicing you and forgetting why they deserve to be on this planet anyhow....
I will never come back to this place, and prefer to shop at Trader Joes, or Jimbos instead. I understand Henry's owns this shop too, so I might change my shopping patterns with them too, which makes me sad....
I hope no one else has to experience this like I did.

Pros: none
Cons: read below
Not a day goes by that I don't buy something at this store and it's either expired or out of date on the shelf. I have actually found mouldy bread on the shelf and expired milk well past its expiration date. The lines are way too long during the day, and you can actually see cashiers standing around goofing around....the vitamin department is just awful, everything extremely overpriced.
I live extremely close to this store, but won't shop there, employees constantly park in front of my house, and when I ask them to move they tell me it's company policy to not park in the parking lot. I have now gotten used to driving to Henry's in La Mesa or the new Santee location-which is much nicer.

Pros: good coffee
Cons: lousy all around
Everything is fresh here. it is the most inexpensive produce i have ever seen. the chicken salad behind the deli counter is amazing, and the people are really nice!
5I stop in here occasionally on way out to La Mesa. Cute store, but everything is so much more expensive. i know the smaller stores have to charge more than the chains to make ends meet, though, so i don't mind paying the extra. I like the bulk bins with pretzels, nuts and other snacks.

Want a store that will provide you with healthy food for good prices? Definitly try out Windmill Farms in Del Cerro. This store is a lot like your typical Henry's, but is a bit smaller. It offers the same great selection of produce, vitamins, bulk food items, wine and various other healthy foods. With such a secluded location, this store is hardly ever crowded, which makes shopping a lot easier!

This is a great place to buy produce. I've never had luck with their watermelons, though, and one time I found a batch of mouldy muffins. Ew! But one thing you can say-- it's fresh. They have bins of loose grains and such, too.
4Great selection of produce, meats, various health and gourmet foods at good prices. The groceries are always fresh and nice quality. They stock there own label for a lot of items (cheese, meat, spices, teas and coffee...) and sell them cheaper than brand name equivalents. There is also a deli where you can get delicious (and huge) sandwiches.

This is a wonderful place with consistently good selections. The staff is very helpful and all smiles. If you live in the neighborhood this is the place to go. Open spaces, clean and splendid. Go here.

I really like the fresh produce and great cuts of meat that windmill farms provides. They also have a great selection of some thing you won't find in a regular market, like heath products. However, this definitely shouldn't be where you

Windmill Farms is just like Henry's, only it's more convenient for me. It's right by my daughter's high school and I can easily get there. The produce is great and stays fresh for a while. There's a big variety of fuits and veggies,

Windmill Farms is a locally owned in the Del Cerro area. Not a giant supermarket but carries a good selection of the things you're looking for. They have a wonderful bread supply, the deli is gorgeous with some great deli meats, cheeses

This is better than your average grocery store. They sell a lot of organic food and they sell things that you cannot find a most stores. For example, they sell dandelion greens. These are good in salads or like I do, to give to pet
