Matthews Equine Svc Inc

I was very pleased with Dr. Matthews. He castrated my gelding and did a nice job at a very reasonable price. He also successfully treated a wound on my mare's thigh, again at a very reasonable price. He also provides me with good sound horse care advice. Very pleased with him.

My labrador has a fused back. His hind legs and back muscles were losing muscle mass and strength. Dr. Matthews performed a simple procedure, injected B12, and my lab acted like he was a puppy again (within days!!). He's a good vet. My lab now has more mobility and strength than he had before. I would recommend Dr. Matthews to anyone.

Dr. Matthews took my horse from 200 lbs. underweight and constantly lame for no apparent reason, to a good weight and able to jump again. My horse had a pinched nerve in his back that was keeping him from gaining weight. We had tried many different vets and many different treatments that cost a lot and didn't help anything. The only thing I regret about my horses treatment is not calling Dr. Matthews sooner. I would use him for any horse with any problem.

Great for certain things but think that sometimes things are diagnosed unnecessarily! Seems good at basic care things like major cuts, minor colics and things of that sorts but would get a second opinion on anything major. Lots of vets in Ramona to choose from, not the worst but not the best!

One of our horses was totally misdiagnosed (on a professed specialty) and the treatment was expensive and needless. Great for repair of cuts and basic injuries, but wouldn't use for diagnostics again.
