we tried Sato sushi last week on a whim..I was craving Japanese food and my husband doesn't like it...We both thoroughly enjoyed the food. It was early on a Friday Night and we barely beat thecrowd. The food was fresh..and I would definately recommend the South San Jose roll..It is a meal in itself!

I've visited a lot of Japanese restaurants even though I don't eat seafood.
One time, I went to this restaurant with a friend during the week for lunch. The food was good, but the service was not very attentive. The waitress brought us teacups but didn't leave us a pot, so we were constantly asking for refills.

You have to try their harley davidson roll! Too good! Nice and spicy and so fresh. The kids love to sit at the bar and watch the train go by.. It is a great experience for the whole family.

the prices are average, but the deluxe dinner is a good deal. considering the lack of good japanese in the area, it's decent to fulfill a sushi/sashimi craving! they are closed between about 230-500. they also have a sushi "train." like the sushi boat places but this one is a train. i prefer regular seating because it seems liket he food is fresher but you are always welcomed to request stuff youd n't see on the boat

This use to be one of my favorite sushi places, but after tonight's service, I will never eat at Sato Sushi again. The CUSTUMER SERVICE was HORRIBLE. The people there were VERY RUDE.!!!!
Pros: GREAT FOOD
Cons: BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
Tried about everything on the menu all of it is great. South san jose roll it's must. Prices are average, service is good.
Pros: food
Cons: busy
The fish here is very fresh - I have never had any problems. One unique thing about SATO is they have a "Sushi Train" - as opposed to the boats at most places. There is a very large sushi bar if you like that and plenty of booths and tables if you want to relax a bit. The place is clean (which to me is very important for a sushi place) and the service is awesome. The waitresses are so nice and helpful and the place is very child friendly too! If you go, be prepared to listen to either the Bee Gees or Country Music (which could explain why one chef always wears a red cowboy hat). Great food for the money, large portions, trains and cowbowy sushi chefs . . . what more could you ask for?
Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Great Value
Cons: NONE
