    When making an appointment to see an apartment with the manager Ruby I was stood up 3 times. When I finally did move into a unit I thought everything would be fine.
    WRONG!!
    I lived there for 3 days and didn't even have food in the apartment and I saw a m- o-u-s-e running across my floor.
    I immediately called Ruby and sent her an e-mail and to no avail was ignored. I had many work orders in and it took an entire week for anyone to come fix any of the issues.
    The m- i-c-e, however, were not taken care of. I woke up at 2am one night to a m- o-u-s-e in my bed. The management staff at A.T. Smith and Co was extremely un-responsive. I work in the property management business and any time any of our residents have a problem we take care of it right away and we exterminate any pests ASAP.
    This company told me that any sort of extermination is my responsibility and that is something that I should know.
    Obviously this company knew of the existing pest problems, purposely did not let on the information, and the health and safety of their residents is not a concern.
    I highly recommend anyone and everyone to avoid this place like the plague.
    It is seriously unsafe to live on any of their properties!!!

    I leased an apartment in Arvada for one year through this company and there was no end to the BS they dish out...They let the property deteriorate to the point of falling down: roof in total disrepair, gutters and downspouts missing or broken, wasp nests everywhere, shingles missing, unsafe outdoor metal stairs that have rusted until they have holes, decrepit central hot water heating systems that leak, unsafe dryer vents, brickwork in desperate need of tuck-pointing, corners of balconies being held up with building jacks, windows cracked/broken and easily jimmied open, etc. They rent to all kinds of druggies, felons, undesireables and riff-raff, then routinely kick them out 4-5 months later after the rest of the tenants complain. When you're driving along and see an apartment complex with a confederate flag being used as a curtain, it's probably an A.T. Smith property. The property I lived in MUST have been the #1 location for police calls in Arvada, with domestic disturbances and fights at least a bi-monthly occurrence. Management (Connie Gilley) is rude, incompetent, elusive, and condescending. They never deliver on constant promises for fixing problems or improvement/beautification projects. It took me 4 MONTHS just to get a F*&#ing mailbox key!...I had to stand by the mailbox and show my I.D. to the postman to get my mail every day!! The person who referred me still hasn't gotten her $100 referral check after 14 months, and I still haven't gotten my deposit back after 90 days, although I photographed the apartment in immaculate condition when I left. Oh, and if you're 3 days late on your rent, they tape a big notice on your door so everyone in the complex can see what a bum you are because it slipped your mind...These people are slum lords, pure and simple
