The Earl of Sandwich has an OK variety of sandwiches with slightly above average quality of ingredients at reasonable prices. They are local which is always a huge plus for me. I used to frequent this shop because I worked nearby. My reason for posting a review is that they almost always made mistakes with my orders and the last time was the last straw. I picked up a picnic lunch for my family and every item in the order was made incorrectly. Not things like forgot mayo or pickles etc. Mistakes like wrong meats, wrong veggies. I called afterwards and they offered one free sandwich in return for the three they screwed up. That was good enough and I came by a week or so later for my free sandwich. I left a tip and took my sandwich back to work. You would think they would pay a little extra attention since this was compensation for a mistake, not so. WRONG ORDER AGAIN. I called back explaining that I didn't have time to come back by so they could fix it and said I would remain a customer if they would just remember me next time and make it up to me with another sandwich. I was a little stunned when the guy on the phone told me that they "couldn't just keep giving me free sandwiches". (by this time I had purchased at least 20 lunches from these guys not including guests who had joined me for lunch several times). I informed him that I wasn't interested in free sandwiches and that I was more than happy to pay for sandwiches if they were prepared correctly. Apparently this didn't mean much to these guys, because they tried to brush me off with a free cookie, so I took the "free" sandwich and tossed it on their front steps. Avoid this place unless you are dinning in.
Pros: Inexpensive, better than most chains
Cons: Careless preperation, bad customer service
Marvin consistently serves the freshest sandwiches and salads in Denver and the desserts are unbelievable! The creative menu has a sandwich for everyone, the prices are reasonable and the service is always fast and with a smile. Marvin and his crew still know something about custormer service. I have never had a problem finding parking or waited more than just a few minutes for a sandwich made just for me. I like to spend the few minutes I'm waiting looking at the local art that fill the walls. A must go to place for out of town guests!
Pros: Ambience, parking and service are excellent
Cons: Not a lot of seating space for large groups but I have picked up lunch for meetings at my office
I've been to this place so many times and have always had a great experience here. Variety of sandwiches with cool names. :-) Staff is awesome. Love the decor.
If you're looking for a good date place...this is it. If you're looking for a great sandwich, this is it. This nice neighborhood sandwich shop is one of the best in Denver. It's got a cool feel to it, as well as a friendly staff. The sandwiches are big, and the price is very reasonable. Overall, it's a great value and a good addition to the neighborhood.
Pros: Good parking, Doggie Treats, Artwork on the Wall
If you want a mean that's filling without being weighted down, go to Earl of Sandwich. Have your lunch or dinner served to your table with a smile and enjoy in a relaxed setting inside or outside. Forget the fast food chains! You will also be treated to a changing art gallery with paintings offered for sale. It's a great location and you'll want to go back!
This is the best, it has to be, of any sandwich shop I have ever visted from the East to West Coast. The menu offers up
sandwiches made with fresh ingredients, in hugh portions, but the best ingredient of all is the creativity used in combining them. The are not overdone, or underdone. Taste is perfect with each and every sandwich every time And the Staff deserves a standing ovation!
Pros: Unique, Fresh, Tasty, inexpensive, quick service
I stumbled on this place as I was going for a walk on a Saturday. What a find this place is. Woods floors and local artist decorating the walls. The atmosphere was perfect with tunes playing at a resonable level. Best part about this place was the food. The sandwichs were made with fresh veggies and meat. The portions were plenty big and delectable. The two people working behing the counter were super friendly and told me they just celebrated their first anniversery of this shop. This place will be around for years to come. You must try the Colfax Club toasted.
Pros: food, service, cute patio
