If you think Pets on Broadway is too expensive, believe me, you have NOT seen exorbitant fees like you would see at Firehouse. Vet costs are expensive - we all know that. So get pet insurance -- I did. I am with Pet Plan. It's not over the top expensive, because they only cover accidents and illness. It was perfect for my situation - an aging dog and an indoor/outdoor cat.

My dog ate de-con mouse killer tonight, luckily I live near this vet. I called twice in the 2 minute drive and no one answered, but, within 20 seconds of arriving they made my dog a priority. They were extremely calming, I was panicked, they answered all my questions, greeted me with respect and concern and CARE!!!!! My dog actually was wagging her tail the entire time there even though had to have induced vomiting and given charcoal. I think is says SO MUCH that my dog was happy and comfortable there, she normally cowers at the vet office. The bill, although big (let's be real people it's expensive to own a pet) was much less than I anticipated, especially on an emergency basis. I have a new vet! I would suggest them to my friends.,.....oh, and they gave us a free stuffed toy too!!!!

I switched to Pets on Broadway after being fleeced at Firehouse, and I must say it's a much more affordable place and I know my pets are receiving the exact same quality of care.

To Doc and all the amazing staff at Pets on Broadway, There are truly no works to express my thanks for the outpouring of love and care you have shown to my beloved Tank over the last 2 years. As I know you all came to see for yourselves, he was one of a kind! He will be missed for years and years to come and will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for giving me even more time with him that I otherwise would have had. Your care and attention went above and beyond the call of duty. A one of a kind ""little man"" receiving TRULY one of a kind care. From the bottom of my heart. R.I.P Tank Gutekurst

Many thanks to everyone there for the tremendous and generous care you have given over the years to Keifer, the puppy we raised for Guide Dogs for the Blind. With your help, our group works to raise happy, healthy puppies for this important cause - puppies who will perhaps someday grow up to give independence to a person with a vision impairment. Many, many thanks for everything you've done for Keifer and for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

I just recently had my Maltese, Poudre, boarded at your establishment, and I must say that you guys do a great job with him. He always comes back happy, and this time he came back with a little more weight. With that said, I was wondering what kind of food he was eating, as it is very hard for me to keep him plump like this. I only feed him Pedigree, but am considering changing to whatever it is Pets uses. Please let me know! Thanks again for a great experience.

I just wanted to thank-you again for saving JESSI'S life. She's been happy and sassy. She's old now and healthy. I'll never forget your blue eyes telling me it would be a ""mistake to put this kitty down"". Thanks!

Thanks so much for shaving my rear end and getting rid of those nasty creatures. I am now a happy, happy dog! I feel great, I love my new ""do,"" and I am wagging my tail lots and lots. P.S. Mom must have felt really bad. I got prime rib 2 nights in a row!\n

Dear Mac and Staff; Thank you for taking such great care of Moose during his TPLO surgery and recovery. He is glad to be home, but doesn't like to be cooped up! I hope his recovery goes quickly. Thanks for everything you did for him. You do such important work.\n

Pets on Broadway is a fabulous place to take your pets. The staff are very knowledgeable and have your pets best interest at heart. The fees don't break the bank either. They are even open on Saturdays!! You will not be disappointed. I have seen Dr. Griffin and Dr. Akers, both compassionate men that love what they do, it's not just a paycheck to them.

To all the wonderful people who work at Pets on Broadway - Just a note to thank you for the loving care you have given both me and Prince over the last few years. I have really appreciated being treated in such a professional way, with kindness and dignity and patience. Give me a while to mourne the loss of my loving Prince - but I will be back!\n

Compassionate yet professional, very knowledgeable and straight forward about the problem. We saw Dr. Scolnick but have heard good things about the other doctor too. Very kind and accommodating with our big very timid growly dog.

I've been going to Pets on Broadway since they have opened. My pets (three cats who passed of old age) and my current three dogs and cat get the best of care there. My animals have had the spectrum of problems -- diabetes, hyper-thyroid, 2 repaired ACLs, a heart murmur, puppy strangles, blocked intestine, to name the most serious. Having taken seven pets to Pets on Broadway since their opening is enough testament to me that they give great care. Dr. Griffin is the BEST.

I hate to say it, but I had two animals misdiagnosed by Pets on Broadway vets which was DIRECTLY contributory to their deaths - within a few weeks of each other. I still get cards stating that one of the pets is 'due for a checkup"" even though I have informed then that the cat died - I believe due to thier incompetence. \r\nI would definately not recommend. They were very dismissive and generally uninterested in my emergency visit - said the dog had a bug bite. The next day he was dying in the ICU at another hospital in heart failure and they could not run tests due to the shot Pets on Broadway gave him. skewing the results. I would never recommend this vet. I think they got lazy in thier success which in my case resulted tragically (x2)

Pros: Location
Cons: Substandard Professionals
All the personnel are fantastic ... as an example, we had to put our 18 year old down about a year ago. The staff actually met us at our car as we arrived and escorted us into a private room in order to make a heartbreaking experience a bit more tolerable. I've never experienced a vet with more compassion and empathy- stayed with us during the procedure and made our dog's last minutes on earth peaceful and stressless. Sometimes the woman doctor seems a bit brusque - however, that is only because she is so driven and super-focused. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Pros: thorough, professional, caring & friendly
Cons: expensive, but aren't they all ?
We owned a dog with lots of cronic problems. Dr. Griffin was so compassionate and helpful when it came time to put our dog to sleep. The entire staff of Pets on Broadway was wonderfully supportive.
5This is my vet since 1999. Over those years I have experienced nothing but the best care for my animals ever. The thing I like the most? There 's no, pardon my french, bulls#$%ng, the doctor tells you what it is. This is not always what you want to hear, alas, that's what you need to know. And the best part? None of my dogs is ( or was) easy to handle around strangers, yet they love(d) going to the doctor. \n

If you are looking for a vet who still has heart and is a great surgeon...I have found this to be Dr. Mac Griffin. He came to my house on a Sunday because I had to have my 12 yr. old dog euthanized. Being able to do this in the comfort of our home and having my kids there meant so much. Dr. Griffin has been my Vet for almost 13 years and I would follow him anywhere, as would many other people I know. \nHis partner in the business, Dr. Sheryl Scolnick is NOT warm and fuzzy at all and it is too bad that Dr. Mac has to be categorized in the same star rating as her. Dr. Griffin is a professional in every sense of the word and seems to love what he does and it shows! \nAnother Vet there is Dr. Jamie Ackers whom I have seen on occasion when Dr. Griffin was not available. I found him also to be very caring and informative. I believe that Dr. Griffin is the only one that does critical care surgery there and he is one of the best. Dr. Scolnick is a Dermatologist and only deals with skin conditions and simple stuff. Both of my dogs have had to have very involved surgeries.... my little terrier was hit by a car and was near death but somehow Dr. Mac saved her and I was told by the receptionist that he even stayed the night in the hospital to monitor her condition. My other dog, a Newfoundland, had to have an ACL surgery done which was very involved. The aftercare and rehabilitation that Dr. Mac helped us with at home and at the clinic was above and beyond...we are so thankful to have peace of mind knowing that Dr. Griffin is always available ....he even gives out his cell phone number !!\n

Pros: Dr. Mac does housecalls, location, staff
Cons: Boarding fills up quick
I would avoid at all costs using Pets on Broadway! After getting a funny feeling after the very first time we used them we continued to go back because it was close to where we live. The lady vet here was more concerned with her next patient then with her current one everytime we were there. The last straw for us was our last visit. They were uncaring and unsympathetic to our pup while we were trying to figure out what was wrong with her, they overcharged us, then the next day when we called back about our test results they basically said we were ""caring too much"" about the outcome of the tests and transfered us to a new vet... . we couldn't be happier with our new vet, he never thinks we're worrying too much!

Pros: convienent
Cons: cost, scheduling, poor vets
Since moving to the Platt Park neighborhood, I switched veterinarians so I would have a place closer to my house. I tried Pets on Broadway - the first doc I had was sweet to my dog, took time with me and made our experience enjoyable. Recently, however - my dog had some health concerns, so I took him back. As I waited, and waited and waited for someone to come examine my dog (25 minutes in a little room can seem like forever with an anxious pet!) - I finally had to ask the receptionist if she thought it would be much longer - the doc promptly appeared. He wanted to run some tests on my dog - so they kept him overnight on IV. Next morning, the head vet called and left a message on my voice mail, telling me that my dog has a chronic illness and will need shots for the rest of his life. Just like that - a flat, emotionless message on voice mail. Unacceptable. Bad news should NEVER be left on voice mail! To add insult to injury - I was quoted $500 for the visit and the procedure and was presented with a bill for nearly double that. One would think they would call me when the price looked like it was doubling so I could get a second opinion.\r\n\r\nNeed a new vet. Quickly!

Pros: convenient location, boarding and food available
Cons: a different doctor every time - most with NO bedside manner and no feelings. Maybe that's why they are animal docs and not people docs.
They took such great care of our dogs and our cats. They were very kind and sympathetic when one of our dogs died, too. They just couldn't be nicer or more caring.
PROS: Really great, caring
CONS: Nothing
