Wonderful store, wonderful employees. Stop in, I promise you will not regret it. They give amazing free tips and follow up with you via email if you are looking for something in particular. They are just wonderful and so nice. I went in thinking it maybe too expensive their products but they fit any budget all while making your home look fabulous!

Awesome shop - was shopping for a new sofa and am so glad I went to Skynear. I had visited all the usual suspects and still hadn't found the perfect combination of style and value. Not only were Hallie and Annie super helpful, but the selection was fantastic. They not only sell the items on display but also have access to fantastic catalogs (nevertheless, I ended choosing the one in the window!) I must also commend the delivery - it was delievered exactly as promised at the store and Per arrived exactly at the time stated. A perfect experience - fantastic service, stylsh and modern selections, good prices, and hassle-free delivery.

The Skynear staff is incredibly attentive and helpful, and I can take my time and gush over each piece I really like, and then...to the catalogs! :D

This store is super fun! This location is conveniently located near Dupont Circle. They sell a lot of cool modern housewares and furniture, jewelry and more. The prices seem to be flexible with any budget. I bought a pair of their vintage earrings. Oh they also support local artists and have a few on display, that was pretty cool too.

I think when you shop here you have decided to buy quality over quantity.

Totally worth it if in DC or in the area!

Only just moved to DC and was overjoyed to find Skynear! Very sophisticated pieces (without the "sophisticated" price). Saw my dream sleeper-sofa the minute I walked in & ordered it!

Skynear's staff is not only helpful and talented, but charismatic and witty (this holds true for all those I've met in Skynear's 20 odd years). Skynear has that local "in the neighborhood" flavor, but has many many many catalogs /choices.

I don't know where they find such an eclectic array of home accessories but it is unbeatable in the DC area. I don't live in Adams Morgan but make it a point to stop in whenever I am. I've bought several pieces right off the showroom including local art, lamp and a gorgeous Egyptian head statue that I LOVE.

If you are looking for something specific furniture wise the staff is more than happy to help. There are plenty of floor pieces but much more in special order selections and catalogs.

My brother just moved to Washington, DC. to work for the new Administration. He has a terrific job, a beautiful new condo in Dupont Circle and not an interior design bone in his body. Fortunately, I prevented him from ordering a bunch of stuff online and took him to my favorite store in DC. Skynear and Company. Within 24 hours their designer put a great look together at a terrific price. My brother brought photos and measurements to the store and the designers did everything else He ordered a bed, sofa and carpet and then bought the rest off the floor. One of the designers even when to his condo to make sure everything was set up right. My brother no longer looks design impaired. You asked if I would recommend Skynear? I think our whole family would recommend them. It is so non-corporate. It is like going into a home and you are treated like a desirable guest. If you can go on a week day when it is not so busy. You will quickly understand the service that your mom and dad told you stories about.We strongly recommend Skynear to all the new people coming to town!

I was shocked to read a negative review on our neighborhood store Skynear and Company. It sounded like a bad case of jealousy or a very obnoxious consumer that has help drive away wonderful local stores like Skynear. They have been in our neighborhood for over 20 years. The always contribute to the community and they stayed on when other like businesses fled to the burbs. They have talented helpful staff, beautiful fair priced merchandise and owners who I know travel the world to purchase things for the store. Why does this complainer think they should talk to the owner rather than the in store manager? Do they speak to the CEO of Pottery Barn, Home Depot or Best Buy? Thousands of DC residents resent such an attack on this terrific store. I recommend this complainer leave small businesses alone and stick with the big chains. He/ She deserves their indifference. Don't let this bitter reviewer detract from one of Washington's Best. I give Skynear 6 stars!

I recently needed to buy furniture and wanted to support a local business. Skynear seemed to be a great resource since it was both in Adams Morgan and had been a member of the community for years.
However, the owner lives 1,000 miles away now and trying to resolve disputes regarding shoddy furniture -- lumpy padding, furniture staples embedded in fabric, etc. -- has proved impossible. I have made at least ten calls and several visits to the store to get a replacement chair and a discount for my trouble. Three months after the fact, I am still waiting. According to the sales reps, the owner can't be reached, they will commit to nothing in writing, they have denied a discount because there hasn't been a significant delay (!!) and there is no on-site manager to make final decisions. Unless you can actually see and test what you are buying, stay far away from this store. Skynear has been an enormous disappointment and waste of time and money.

Skynear & Company is located in the Adams-Morgan and U Street district in Washington DC. This unusual shop stocks hand-painted pillows, repro armoires and red China cabinets, whimsical wrought iron, acrobatic light fixtures and much more. Other Gen-X and smart set stuff is located in the basement. I would recommend this store to anyone looking for that one-of-a-kind home fixture or home furniture.
