My husband and I went to the Snow Lion for the first time about a month ago and have been back several times since. The restaurant itself has a laid back atmosphere, with dim lighting and inconspicuous music, but I wouldn't call it dingy.

My husband and I went to the Snow Lion for the first time about a month ago and have been back several times since. The restaurant itself has a laid back atmosphere, with dim lighting and inconspicuous music, but I wouldn't call it dingy.
I went to the Snow Lion in Bloomington eagerly anticipating a great meal. In return I got bad service, bad food and a dirty restaurant.
I ordered a seafood dish and got a flavorless spongy dish that was totally unaceptable. When I asked to send it back that seventeen year old waiter treated me like I had a disease. He walked away and did not even listen to why the dish was bad.
The restaurant was dirty and so was the waitstaff. When I left the Snow Lion I left my phone on the table and the waiter would not return it. When I finally stormed into the kitchen it turns out that he had thrown it away. Very Classy. If I had not heard it ring I would not have gotten it back.
So, bad service, bad food, and a stolen phone.........overall a great experience.

This place has great food and great service. They always allow you to choose exactly how spicy you want your food. There are numerous vegetarian, seafood, and vegan options.

This little gem in Bloomington, Indiana is a real vegetarians paradise!!! There are over 21 menu items for vegetarians!! And they can easily be prepared vegan as well! They are delicious and served hot and fresh! The restaurante has their own recipe for salad dressing that is fabulous! Infact it is so good, that local helath food grocers around the town sell it. The atmosphere is quiet and dimmed. There are mirrors on the walls, and fish tanks all around. They have soft music playing. This restaurante is highly recommended!!
