I want to thank the wonderful staff that made my triathlon experience more special. The dining area staff prepared everything early, was super friendly and helped a bunch of half-asleep athletes find everything. When we came back two of us stumbled out of the 4th floor elevator barely to stand, we were so tired. Fortunately, April was there to meet us and helped us get all our gear to our room. We really appreciated the care she showed for her guests.

Dirty, dirty, dirty! I've seen several empty bottles (fifths) of liquor in the parking lot. Who in their right mind is drinking so much ... and doing so in the Silver Beach Hotel parking lot? Obviously the guests as no mere mortal could drive after such drinking. So this obviously isn't a good place to bring one's wife and kids. And the "kitchen" area is also a mess, certainly wouldn't eat there. There are nicer and cleaner places to stay in and around St. Joseph.

We stay here several times a year. We are very pleased! Freeman Gilbert has always been very helpful and welcoming. Hotel location is excellent and your support staff has always been responsive to questions and requests. Thank you!

They were so great and whenever we needed something, they brought it to us right away. We asked for extra towels and they were delivered asap.

The hotel had terrible service and the staff was unable to locate the manager on several occasions. This hotel was the low point of our trip. We had to move rooms at 10:30 at night due to a soggy carpet and they did not even send someone to help us move our luggage and three tired children. The pool was out of service for several days and management did not inform us upon check in. The hotel did not compensate us for our troubles and complaints. I would never recommend this hotel to people and will never return. It was the worst hotel experience I have ever had!

This is the place to stay while visiting in St. Joseph. Located right in the heart of the little downtown area, everything is just a walk away - whether its the shops along the main streets or the lakefront. The staff is very personable, the guests are friendly, the pool and hot tub are perfect, and there's even a FREE (at the time, might still be) computer room for its guests. The rooms are clean and simple. This is really a great, no-frills hotel in itself - its the location what makes it awesome and the obvious choice for visitors. I would highly recommend it and all of its visitors to enjoy Silver Beach. One of my all-time favorites.
