Great price, very friendly honest service. I started my research for a new bike by speaking with the owner. He recommended a bike and offered me a great price. I went home, did my research and realized, not only was the bike perfect for my needs, he was offering it at an amazing price. My first tune-up was free as well. Staff is always helpful and friends when I come back with questions.

Horrible! Service and customer care is poor. Charged $100 for a bike tuneup, did not return bike with all original parts

I purchased 2 bikes from them. The first was a mongoose BMX that was so poorly set up I threw the chain on my first curb hop and I landed on my face. The second bike was a Giant MTB. The rear hub had a defect that whenever you put great force on it(hillclimbing) it would pop out and chain would slip and spin. I was almost killed by a car on an uphill climb on Victory Blvd. when chain slipped and I fell into path of oncoming traffic. I went to Bennet's and for $105 they said I could buy a new rear wheel assembly for this brand new bike. This place stays in business only for kids who need a bike to tool around on. If you are a serious cyclist DO NOT GO HERE! Try Jersey or Long Island or go with an online purchase if you know what you want.

GB is the cat's balls! Whatever your needs are these guy's are there for you. They are the only stop in town so you are not going to get hosed. They have a great selection and form what i'm told its been a family business for three generations.

Art of Bennett's Bicycles was steadfast in attempting to repair the Mathauser hydraulic brake on the front tire of my P-38 recumbent bicycle. With the generosity of Tim Brummer of Lightning Cycles loaning otherwise unavailable equipment to repair the hydraulic brakes, Art was able to determine that the brakes were unrepairable. I strongly recommend anyone seeking competent, reliable bicycle repairs to take advantage of Bennett's bicycles on Staten Island. Art also built a new rear wheel for me and replaced my freewheel so that now the bike performs like it is brand new.

Ill go with the other reviewers in saying that Bennets offers great service, selection, and pricing!!
They didnt have the item i was looking for, so the owner opened his bike book and had it in for me that same week. Great service!

Ive been to most of the other bike shops on Staten island and theres just no comparing.

The staff is both friendly, and knowledgeable. I have purchased 2 bikes here well below list price. They are willing to negotiate, and in the case of my first bike, they threw in a U lock for free. If you would like the complete opposite experience, go to the Bike Shop in Great Kills.

I'm not sure if it's just me but I just bought a bike from them and got the best discount of all the places. The price was even better than every Internet sight. Super nice guys treated me with respect and answered all my questions. Not sure but I even think that they have been in business for 100 years. They know their stuff and I recommend this bicycle shop to every one who will read this; I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

This has got to be the WORST shopping experience ever. DO NOT GO THERE. It is pretty obvious that they don't care about the customer whatsoever. I wanted a bike that wasn't at the store and they called Trek to place the order. One of the salesman (Sean) told me it costs $479 and later who I believe may be the owner said $469. Sean tells me I will have to pay for shipping. When I say, "I have to pay for shipping?????!" the owner says, "She doesn't have to pay for shipping." I ask what the total will be after tax and Sean asks me what the sales rate is. Then he punches in some numbers and tells me $510 which is the number he wrote on the sales slip. I asked if I needed to put down a deposit and Sean asks me if I'll be paying cash or credit. Before I answer he says if I pay by credit card each time they swipe the card they'd charge me tax!!! I should have just left the store at this point but this is the only shop on Staten island that carries trek. I paid the deposit in cash and asked Sean if he'd be calling me when the bike arrives. He says, "What's today? Thursday? It should be here around Tuesday but I guess I'll call you when it gets here since I have your number." I left the store unhappy and about 10 minutes later went back asking to cancel the order. Sean asks me why and I told me I changed my mind. He tells the owner and he yells, "OK but you have to pay us 20% of the total." Their reason was once they place an order with Trek, Trek will not let them cancel it. I really did not feel like losing $100 to these a**holes so I decided to keep the bike. I told them that I was not happy about how one person quoted me one price and another quoted me a different price. I also told them I did not like how one person told me I would have to pay for shipping and the other told me I didn't. Then Sean says, "So what? It worked out in your favor." Then the owner comes out and yells, "What do you want??!! If you had bought a bike from our store I would've just given you your money and told you to get out because I don't want to deal with you! But I can't cancel an order from Trek!" I also told him I didn't like how he just put down $510 without telling me what the tax was so I told him I want a new sales slip with the price of the bike and tax and then total. He pulls out the receipt from the register and as he's writing the new sales slip he says, "The tax is actually $40.57 so the total is $509.57." I knew that he had to have rounded off the number and honestly 43 cents isn't really a big deal but that's still 43 cents of my money that he tried to take by deceiving me. Don't help these dishonest cheating people by shopping at their store.

I'm 44 yrs old, and have been going there since I learned how to ride a bike. I have never had a problem, in fact they've gone out of their way to help me, from putting air in my tires to buying a bike at a unbeatable deal. I find it impossible to believe some of these reviews. How can a bike shop, where service is everything, be in business for over a hundred years and give you uncaring, indifferent service?I conclude it has to be other jealous bike shops or cranky people who know nothing about bikes.

I have purchased my MT bike and my Road bike from this store. No complaints. The mechanics know what they are doing and they are easy to deal with. Prices are below list so I am happy.

I had just spent one week researching the Trek bike that I was interested in. After going to several bike stores in New Jersey I decided to go to Bennetts since it would be convenient for me being I live in S.I., to make a long story short I left there with 2 bikes(for myself and my Fiance), a bike rack and accessories. The tag price is the asking price but this does not mean that's what you HAVE to pay. They will see me again.

Wish I had the same experience as the other two people. I went out of my way to go here because of the reviews. I can say I was not treated as nicely and the prices were outrageous. I could go across the bridge and pay half those prices. The stock of bicycles is Nice but not for those prices.

i have frequented bennetts bicycles many times. i have purchased bikes for my nieces and nephews as well as my wife and myself and each and every time i went i was treated like i was the only one who mattered and for that i will continue to use bennetts as my resource for all of my biking needs. from replacement parts to just a tune up on the brakes they are always there to help.

When we first moved to Staten Island some 27 years ago my bicycle got a flat and needed a repair and I carried my bike into this store and was given the same service and smile you get today 27 years later. good selection of bikes for all ages and needs too plus excellent service
