I received the most incredible beauty package that anyone can get.nardi is a true professional he has done celebrities so I was very happy to be in his chair. The package I receive included an image consultation shampoo deep condition precise haircut Nardi refreshing mini facial a lip or eyebrow wax and a manicure which they lady was so sweet like the rest of the staff! I felt amazing leaving that salon ! I paid a 80 for everything when it normally would have been more! I also had highlight and color which came out to 250! I don't mind paying when the service is good! If you have a beauty package just read it carefully and enjoy the spa day!!! Thank you mr Nardi! See you again

I went to Nardi beauty center about a few weeks ago and i absolutely love my haircut! it actually is so much better than the last few salons i have been too.. The salon is so big and the most amazing thing about it is i received this beauty package which took care of everything i needed to get done before the holidays for an incredible good price!! $70 !! i had someone talk about my hair first to know EXACTLY what i was going to get done ...i got long layers and just a trim and few highlights! the highlight came out beautiful so natural i have never had my highlights look so good in my life!!!! i was very happy about that! shampoo deep conditioning which was also very good because of the color treatment making it so dry! blow dry was prettty with a few curls at the end ! i had my face analyzed to understand how it works to clean out my pores and the best solutions for preventing them ! i had my eyebrows a little more shaped and cleaned up very nicely!! and last i had a manicure! and of course i got French my favorite! This was a wonderful gift i would recommend these packages to everyone if i could! Thank you nardis again for making be beautiful! Happy holidays !

I've gotten my hair cut and colored here for the past 6 months and I'm always extremely happy with the outcome. People always compliment me on my hair. The color looks natural. I am not shy about telling Fred what I want and how I like my hair. He is a good listener and offers great suggestions. The staff is friendly and accomodating and they keep to the appointment time. The most I've had to wait is maybe 5 minutes. I've been to Fekkhai and John Barrett and I'm not going back because there is no attitude here and I'm in and out during lunchtime. Fred is the master! I'm glad I found this place.

I love this salon, especially since I have LONG hair, and they know how to cut it. I've had 2 really great experiences here, and walked away very happy each time. This last time I actually came in because my hair was butchered in another place, and Sabina managed to fix it, without loosing any length!

Once again: great service with the stylists actually listening to your requests. Great place if you have long hair and want it to look healthy and have volume

True, the prices are a bit steep but I'll pay it, for the peace of mind

I just returned from my appointment at the Nardi Beauty Center, and I could not be happier. The service, the stylists (Fred Nardi), and the salon were absolutely stellar. I'm usually very particular about how my hair gets styled, but they held my hand the entire way, and even opened my eyes to new beauty tips and tricks. This is the best cut I have ever had (my hair cut is a work of art.), and I know that I will be back for highlights soon. I would suggest calling the salon to make an appointment directly and asking for an appointment with Fred Nardi, himself, I mean if Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis had her hair cut by him and she knew great taste then it is a steal.

I don't know what ppl are talking about. I read the reviews and was scared to go at first. I went there paid the 15. 00 registration fee. I only had to wait 5 minutes!! Nancy gave me a fabulous haircut. and styled it to perfection. I used the massage and the blow dry style and finish was that was really good I expect to come back again in the next 6 months. :)

I purchased the greatest Beauty Package at Nardi Beauty Center. The greatest of it all is that they are kind and well knowledgable of what they do you can see from all the famous actors/actresses/singers they have pictures with! i bought the package which is $60 for the advertising company that let me know about there salon and a surcharge of $20 at the salon ! so i recieved my image consultation which talks about your hair first before anything! had color shampoo deep conditioning haircut which was very precise and a FABULOUS blowdry with waves and body! I also was entitle to a Refreshing mini facial which was a cleanser scrub moisturizer and some steam! to upgrade to a full they will mention a 45% discount! i ALSO was entitled a lip or eyebrow wax!!! Awesome Job! and for my final service i had an amazing full manicure! it wasss great i loved it! Next time i might do the same package and pay at the salon! =) Thank you for making me beautiful Nardis! And thanks to the person that approached me with this invitation!

I also bought one of these packages and I got two for one. I was really happy, they were very willing towork withme when my friend and I first rescheduled, and with no charge even though it was the same day. When Igot there I saw the owners daughter (Angelica?) at the front and her hair was so beautiful that i asked her who did it, and she said her father wasthe owner so i asked him for a consult, He would up givng me full head of higlights, for $120, and then I also got my cut from him> i was happy with the whole experience, and my hair cut but speciofically my color came out beautifully. EXACTLY like I had explained I wanted it. i have had my hair cut and colored all over the world, and I would absolutely come back to Nardi the owner for more highllights. Very elegant.

My friend bought 2 of those promotional package deals and took me to Nardi for the first time as a birthday gift. The location of the salon was in a nice hotel but the salon itself was rather small. We had an appointmet for 5pm and when we got there we had our manicures first . The lady didnt bothering soaking my hands, and my cuticles were never pushed back or shaped. The polish was uneven, full of air bubbles and started to chip the next day. Most unprofessional manicure ever.\r
\r
My stylist was a sweet lady named Ping. We had a consultation where she suggested that I get highlights in my hair. When i asked her for the price, she kept avoiding to answer and simply said that i would be getting a discount for it. I eventually decided to just retouch the color of my roots and had my hair trimmed about 1 inch. Very minimal styling was done to my hair and my bill came out to be $85 not including tip. $68 for the dye and $17 service fee. My friend was charged $27 dollars for a blowdry. My stylist however waived my $27 charge after I told her i didnt want a blowdry, while doing it for me anyways. \r
\r
The younger lady at the reception who waxed my friends eyebrow completed the job in about 2 mins. She came with an attitude as though she didnt want to waste her time servicing us because we were there on a promotional deal. it was a joke. I never got the waxing or mini facial that was promised on the voucher because it was closing time after i finished my hair cut.\r
\r
Overall, the service could've been alot better and all these 'fine print"" charges should be eliminated. If you're trying to bring in new customers make sure that they are well treated and well informed so they will return in the future and not leave feeling gyped.

I went into Nardi with my hair in tatters... I hadn't had good hairdressers in the past, and my hair was damaged, needed a good cut, and also needed to be fixed colourwise.

Nardi himself was my own personal stylist! Which was wonderful. He gave me highlights and lowlights at the same time, which most places can't do, as well as a great cut. At the end, my hair looked and felt amazing. I have never had such great colors, and the haircut really is fabulous.

I also came back and had one of the best facials I've ever had, and I have traveled a lot, and had them all over the world. The manicure was also very good.

I highly recommend it, in general a great all round beauty experience!

I, too, purchased the $60 certificate on the street from this girl who was so annoying and persistent (great at her job) that I thought forking over $60 was totally worth getting her to stop following me. Anyway, I digress.

So after reading the reviews below of people who used the certificate, of course I was wary. I called the salon ahead of time and spoke with Angelica who was super nice and helpful; I expressed my concerns and
told her I simply could not afford to walk out feeling ripped out (we're in a recession, people!) She told me she understood and made a good point; read what's covered ahead of time and if someone tries offering me add'l service, just make it clear I wasn't willing to pay extra.

When I got there, they asked for the service charge ($15 + $2 tax apparently; so total certificate costs $77). I was lucky to have the owner himself cut my hair; Fred is really nice and you can tell he knows what he's doing. He offered me some color - I was in a rush so told him I'd come back for them; (*note: color costs extra outside of package) - and proceeded to give me a great hair cut. It was exactly what I had asked for.

At the end of the cut, they asked for an extra charge for blowdrying fee; just make it clear in advance that you're not looking to pay extra for blowdrying your hair and it can be avoided. They waived the fee for me.

All said and done, I was out in less than an hour; great use of my time so I'm not sure what the other reviewers were complaining about.

The place is good, prices can be high. But what else do you expect at a hair salon on Madison Ave? If price isn't an issue, definitely go there. If you have the coupon, just read the fine print and you'll be fine.

I went in for a slew of services -- cut, colour (highlights), eyebrow wax, mini facial, manicure -- and was out in two hours exactly. Despite how quickly I was in and out of the salon, not once did I feel rushed or that they were trying to shuffle me from one service to another.\r
\r
The staff I met with (Marissa, Angela and the manicurist, whose name I sadly can't remember) were very pleasant and attentive. I was offered scones, drinks and magazines during wait times (which were very short).\r
\r
Marissa gave me a beautiful cut that gave my hair life and swing. She also gave me highlights that looked natural and healthy. It was the BEST highlight process I've ever had.\r
\r
The eyebrow was and mini-facial were fine and whilst my manicure looked great leaving the salon, the varnish started to chip a mere 9 hours later. I'm already making a trip to the shop tomorrow to get varnish to touch it up.\r
\r
Other than that, it was a fabulous experience and I'm looking forward to going back. I'm definitely getting my hair done by Marissa again.

Alongside the many other negative posts to follow, I too felt that I had been scammed. The overall experience was terrible. \r
\r
First, there's the price: I paid the $60+ something dollars to a guy selling a promotion at Rockefeller Center and was told there would be a $15 service charge for drinks. I know these places can be shady, but he promised a cut and color and an extra pass for a friend. Fine - but then, as I was checking out a man whispers to my stylist ""Does she know about this yet?"" - and I get a $217 bill. I HAD NO CLUE SERVICES I WAS GETTING WERE NOT A PART OF ""THE PROMOTION"". And in fact, some services - including an extra color wash - were added to my hair without me even knowing. \r
\r
So yes, hands down, the price issue left me feeling awful, but it is important to note that service was also terrible. My reaction to price seemed to be of no concern, and I was even accused of not paying the service fee (for which I had already paid at the beginning.)\r
\r
In addition, the atmosphere is just odd. I am surprised the Lombardi Hotel doesn't mind being affiliated with this salon. The salon is definitely low end, with unprofessional staff. \r
\r
My stylist dropped hair dye on my hand and repeatedly took phone calls while doing my hair. I also have a cut on my scalp from the comb the stylist used. The girl who ""waxed"" my eyebrows told me - she doesn't usually tell people this - but the owner is her father... Apparently she said the same thing to my friend as well. ... At least we got a laugh!\r
\r
Altogether, the experience was extremely awkward, offered sub-par services and was far more expensive than I had been told. \r
\r
If you got a promotion, I recommend to just stick to a simple cut or avoid the salon altogether.

Altogether, the experience was extremely awkward, offered sub-par services and was far more expensive than I had been told. \r
\r
If you got a promotion, I recommend to just stick to a simple cut or avoid the salon altogether.

Pros: OK cut and color

Cons: $15 bill unknowingly includes $217 additional charges

A good few months ago, I am walking around in SOHO on my way to lunch by an uber-metro guy asking about my hair. Normally, I walk by with sunglasses on pretending not to hear them, but this time I stopped. Five minutes later, I have somehow been talked into paying $60 upfront for a salon package at a place I have never heard of. Damn. Am I that easy of a sale? Answer: Yes - check out my closet...

As I am cleaning out my many purses, I find this receipt with a list of services which I have already purchased. Umm... awesome! I love free! So I call and schedule an appointment for my 30% off color service (so nervous for a new colorist!) and a free facial. Before I leave, I check out the reviews on Yelp and am a bit uneasy. Let me just tell you how the day unfolded.

""Hi, Do you have any appointments available today?""
""Sure for what?""

"":I have this coupon, blah blah""
""See you in 20 minutes""

Either that is awesome customer service, or a bad sign they have no clientele.

I walk in for my free facial, and thirty minutes later as the last part of the mask is on, she offers a complimentary eyebrow wax. I don't do eyebrows. I don't know what to do and I was blessed without a unibrow. Nice! But again, free... okay! Relieved, I look in the mirror and I still have eyebrows and look great.

Facial was seriously free (no upselling if you dont get ""extractions"", and very good - Angelica made my skin feel great!)

I walk out for my highlights, get a consultation and am on my way. Nancy is very good at what she does. I didn't let her give me low lights, but listen to her advice! She knows her stuff. She takes an hour and 15 minutes to do my foils. But they are so thin and perfectly parted, I am thrilled. She washes them out, things are good. Oh but wait, along with my 30% off color, I get a free shampoo, haircut, conditioner, and blow dry... what!!! Amazing.

Atmosphere: Modern, Red, Lots of Mirrors, Gossip, Walk Ins, Nails, Hair, Massages, Waxing, ya! And if you mention in passing to Nancy that you have somewhere to go that night, she will style your hair for free ( I was going home to watch the first Jets game, but I still looked good!)

I walked out of the salon very happy. The only negative I have is that it took 3 hours... you have to have time to really chill and have no where to go.

This random package is absolutely worth it... listen to the metros who want to know where you get your hair did!

Pros: GREAT COLOR!

When I entered into the salon for the first time I had a coupon to get my nails done, do a facial, and get my hair done. I absolutely loved the hair stylist, Nancy. She definitely made my hair look healthy and shiny and not dull at all. I loved that she gave me one-on-one attention. Also, the nails were well done by Maria. I did not get a chance to get my facial but I will this week so hopefully the facial will be good. Nardi's a great place to get your hair done even if it is damaged like mine was. Fantastic! They even provide you little snacks here and there.

Fred Nardi at Nardi Beauty Center is great ! I just got a haircut there a few weeks back and it was fabulous. I just moved back to Manhattan and have been looking for a good salon in midtown and I've found it!!! Very happy with the salon, stylist, and my overall experience. Highly recommended!!! \r
\r
Go Nardi's! I've gotten so many complements on my hair since getting it cut there. \r

I have been growing out my hair for about 6 months, but I really needed a haircut since I was getting a lot of split ends. My friend bought a $60 promotion, and had a great time. She got her haircut done by Nancy, and it was great! It still had its length and also had texture. So the next day I made an appointment with Nancy, and she was awesome :) My hair had a lot more volume, and I recently just came for her to dye my hair! NANCYis awesome

I read many negative reviews on this salon and its services. So I was a little concerned. I went there last week with the promo and had a wonderful experience. Both myself and my friend were taken right away. There was virtually no waiting. I nodded off during a most relaxing shampoo massage. Had my eyebrow's waxed beautifully (she re-shaped them and they needed it). Got a good deep conditioning and cut/blow-dry -- also a manicure that was perfectly fine. This establishment was clean and well kept. There were no hidden costs or charges. The staff --- Fred and Nancy in particular were gracious and professional. Fred asked me what I wanted done to my hair and managed to do what I asked and make it look better than I expected. Even before the blow-out I could see it was a great cut. I will go back again and again. Well worth the money.

I was suckered into the spa package deal, I know, stupid, but whatever. I made an early appointment and went in.

hair: My stylist sat me down and literally spent less than a minuet talking to be about what i wanted done. While she was washing my hair she was like ""oh this is just some corrective coloring..."" WITHOUT EVEN ASKING! It was in my hair before she said anything! But I (stupidly) didnt say anything thinking that shes the stylist and knew what she was doing.

A group of teenage girls came in, so i had to sit in a chair by myself while my stylist talked to the other girls. I wasnt even offered a magazine! While I was sitting there, dye dripped all over the back of my neck and down my cardigan, staining it. When my stylist finally returned after 20minuets, she added highlights! I NEVER said i wanted highlights!!!! urgg! My cut lasted about 2 minuets and was less than an inch taken off. I told her to go shorter, and she pretended to cut more until i gave up trying to get what i wanted. The only comments i got on my new hair is that "" i liked it the old way"" or ""your hair looks fried""

nails: They are under 20 color choices and their dollar-store brands. I had to choose 3 different color before I chose a bottle that would open. The woman was really sweet, but i didnt see her clean her manicure equipment before or after she used them on me.

facial:the woman was nice, but she just tries to sell you more things you dont want.

waxing: the receptionist did it, and she burned me. also, she missed spots. I would have been better off doing it myself

Basically what im saying is DONT GO HERE!
I got double-charged the service fee, charged full price for color, full price for highlights, and my stylist chose her own tip. So in total this horrible haircut cost me $326.30!!!! I understand that this is the going rate for theses services, but come on. SERIOUSLY?! Super Cuts could have done better

my friend and i bought a package off a guy on the street that offered a full hair package to Nardi... we went there today and after the whole hair cut and all.. we were thrown with a bill over 100 dollars just for touch up of color.. they were very decieving... vampires who suck money out of your pockets.....\r

\r
they do not tell you that they are charging you for the services. they just use the products on you and you have to pay it at the end because you have used it...... \r

I have been back and forth from the city but never stayed long enough that I had to have my hair done by someone other than my usual stylist....was extremely apprehensive about it but it needed to be done. I took a friends advice who I trust and who knows how neurotic I am about my hair, needless to say it was and is definitely something I will do again. I don't know about all the stylists, however I can vouch for the master stylist Fred Nardi, he is amazing, quick, and my hair was perfectly natural looking. Wonderful, Wonderful! I will be back for sure, as it was a better job than my usual stylist and half the time.

i'm very picky about who cuts my hair.. i went to the same woman for 7 years before i moved to new york (and drove an hour to get to her!).. tried several places in varying price ranges in new york with mixed results, and then my sister gave me a promotional certificiate for Nardi Beauty Center that included a cut, manicure, facial, Masage, etc. I happened to get Nancy as my stylist, and she did exactly what I asked her to do, with a good amount of time invested and attention to detail. i've been back to her about 10 times now, and sent friends her way, and I have to say that she really pays attention to what the client wants, but puts her own artistic spin on it too. I'm really happy to have found a stylist in nyc who isn't ridiculously expensive, but who i know i can count on. ask for Nancy! honestly, if she were ever to move from Nardi's, i would follow her to whatever salon she goes to.

do. not. go. here.
ever.

it was so bad i laughed. it is not worth ANY amount of money - let alone what the price of the promised package deal is. it is a cheap, dishonest, and unfriendly establishment that runs solely on the deception of honest people. no one in their right mind would ever go back. unless you want to pay astronomical prices for atrocious service, DO NOT GO TO NARDI. or unless, of course, you want a good laugh.

i hope that someone shuts this place down soon.

I too used the coupon deal at this salon, BIG MISTAKE!
My ""precision"" haircut took all of 2 minutes, despite the fact that I was getting four inches cut off! I have NEVER had such a quick and careless haircut in my life! On top of this, they had the audacity to charge me 40$ for a blowdry (despite the coupon saying it was included). I have shoulder-length thin, pin straight hair which, predictably, took about 30 seconds to dry (with a ton of frizz since it was done so carelessly, might I add). 40$!!! It was like being slapped in the face. I left before having the facial because I was terrified of them messing up my face as badly as they messed up my hair. DO NOT COME HERE IT IS A RIP OFF AND A SCAM!!!!!

I was in NYC WITH my very good friend. We are both very acquainted to SPA experiences. We were approached while walking in Time square to buy a promotion for Nardi spa : facial, hair cut , manicure.... the whole thing ... We negociated the package for half price and were very excited to have a NYC Spa experience. WHat a scam... you get there and if you don't specify that you want what is on your package they will just charge you extra. They ask you to pay for the product over and above the package price. In that case the package price should be reflecting the level of service you are going to get..... There was no place to sit.... the hair cut was suppose to come with a massage.... and didn't.. in the meantime while you are trying to relax , the russian lady taking care of the manicure is yelling on the phone in russian while servicing clients....when she serves you, forget it, she is still on the phone yelling in russian, killing your nails.. I was bleeding ! and I asked her what product she was putting on my hands ( very agressively) and she replied that i shouldnt worry it is to disinfect! So in the edge on my sit already unable to relax waiting what catastrophic service is going to come next, it is time to have my eyebrows waxed.... So the same russian lady, while waxing my eyebrows reminds me that tips is not included! So i lost it... since when you asked for tip ( after a manicure where you have my fingers bleed with no apology...) that was unaceptable. She rumbles on ( still waxing my eyebrows) that it is not with the promotion they are getting paid, that i need to tip her... so we get into a big argument, she starts yelling at me! Then it is my friend turn have her waxing done. So while still yelling at me, she is taking care of my friend ( very relaxing expercience!) and she burns her!!!!!!!!! I m not even mentioning that while getting my shampoo done, they spilled water on all the back of my shirt... i was freezing ... and that you have to ask 3 times every time they offer you someting if it is part of the promotion..\r
When the russian lady figured out that there is no way on earth I'm going to tip someone who is guilt triping me and yelling at me... we received the rest of what was already a dispecable service.... no one said bye or thanks and we left slamming the door. \r

My friend and I bought a spa deal on a whim near Washington Square Park. It sounded so perfect, there was bound to be a catch. We were told nothing about the $17 dollar service fee, and the fact that, despite making appointments, we would have to wait in line for each service we wanted done. We asked the salesman many questions and, in retrospect, did not receive accurate answers.
As soon as we got to Nardi we knew we had made a mistake. The stylists had terrible hair themselves, streaky highlights ect....never a good sign. One tried to convince my friend that her beautiful naturally blonde hair needed expensive highlights. She then proceeded to tell her that if she wanted her hair blow dried it would be an extra $20, as her hair is long. We waited about two hours to receive manicures. There was no nail dryer and the selection of polish was very limited. The receptionist told us that she would save our place in line if we left to get coffee. That, of course, ended up being untrue, so we waited 20 minutes more once we returned. We waited a similar amount of time to receive ""European Mini Facials"" which took about 3 minutes each, and were essentially having someone wash your face for you. We were warned by the girls who went ahead of us to make it clear that we wanted the facials that had come with the package. Apparently, the woman performing the facials had started to complete a more elaborate sort of facial on them without being asked. They were unaware that this facial was different from the one included. This incurred a $30 extra fee. My friend and I left Nardi only having completed 4 of the services we had paid for. Needless to say, we didn't return for the haircuts included in the package. Why would we trust such incompetence with our hair?

I bought my wife a gift certificate outside my job for our 2 year anniversary. And let me start by saying that she enjoyed herself immensely. With two kids ages four and one it is quite difficult for her to spend the time on herself and maintain the way she did before the kids. So that is where the spa and salon came to my mind. And judging by the way she spent the night with me she was more than appreciative, wink, wink. She told me about how it wasn't just like a normal time of getting her hair done. The way the staff welcomed her from the entrance symbolized the day she was going to have. They provided wine, which the owner Fred, whom I called before purchasing the certificates, made up special for her and my sister, who also gave overwhelming reviews of the service and professionalism of the staff. \r
\r
They got several things done, and all were top notch, but what stood out the most to me from my wife's testimony was how all of the girls were unbelievably friendly and accommodating to her every need. Continualy making sure they were ok, and if they had any need what so ever. This is a place that she will visit again since the cert. i gave her had enough for several visits. I would suggest any husband to go the same route, when that special time comes around, or even if you just want to surprise the misses with a special something extra, because she will not be disappointed, and I assure you if she isn't neither will you.

this place will probably overcharge and charge you for little things you can do for free in other places. this place charges for blowdry and has a service fee.... WTF!? since when does it cost to blowdry hair? and the package is expensive enough...why charge extra? ridiculous.
i realized that buying promotions off the street are such rip offs...but this one is by far the worst.
i can get way better service for WAY cheaper.
i don't understand who would give this place 5 stars. seriously. i think people are just making random accounts.

I bought this off the street promotors too, and i was asked to write a review on citisearch, I didn't like the receptionist lady, she was extremely clumsy and it seemed like her mind wasn't quite there. she wrote my name wrong SO MANY TIMES after me repeating to her what it really is and my name is only 4 letters.\r
the haircut was all right, i only got bangs anyway. \r
so here are the things i got at the salon\r
-haircut\r
-eye brow wax\r
and here'sthe price i had to pay\r
60 dollars when i bought the promotion\r
17 dollars service fee ( i thought it was 10?)\r
5 dollars for eyebrow waxing, idk why i didn't get it for free.\r
\r
this place's skills are all right, but the service fee is WAY TO FREAKING MUCH!!! it's ridiculous i had to pay so much for so little things.\r
\r
my suggestion is don't go, i've been to way better and cheaper places

Pros: good eyebrow wax

Cons: too much service fee

.

looks like everybody has their own opinion on things... i bought the $60 promo and i had a decent haircut and it does read on the back that if your hair is long that it can be a small fee. I also had a manicure which was fine no problem they had pretty OPI and ESSIE nail polishes i got french anyways which was $5 extra but everywhere when you ask for french they will always tell u extra .. the eyebrow wax good../ great deal she gave me for a full facial .. to upgrade to a full for just $30 and that includes everything with steam /extractions and a mask what more do you need.. when all these other places charge way to much to do a full facial when all you really need to do is steam the face and take all the congestion out like she said and its tru.. this place is cozy i have a series of facials now for only 30 dollars

p.s if you want to have a clear face and very good facial go to nardi my nose is so shiny !!!!!

.

my friend got me the nardi package as a present, suppose to include image consultation, precision haircut, blowdry & style, mini facial, eyebrow wax and manicure... and some other discounts if you want additional service.\r
\r
marisa was my hair stylist, but she cut my hair in 5 minutes!!! and i have long hair, i think it takes longer to cut guy's hair in a barbershop! it was literally 2 cuts in the back to trim the length and she cut some horendous layers and then redid the bangs in literally 2 minutes, i was like that's it, i just sat down? this haircut is supposed to be worth $100 without the package.... WOW. so style is supposed to be another $30 and she had the audacity to ask if i wanted to pay her the extra money to style my hair. no chance after she spend 5 min cutting my hair. and this is supposed to be a ""precision"" cut? she says she's been cutting hair for 14 years!!! wow please do something else with your life.\r
\r
so then i continue on with my package for the facial and the wax. i was already distrusting the service after my experience with marisa and thinking that they've got no incentive to serve you well as the package has already been paid for. i think both facial and wax are okay, but the lady is at least nice. the facial is a cleaning, then enzyme exfoliation, then rinse off. wax is just a regular wax they waxed below my eyebrows and the middle, but that's what i expect as i don't like getting the top waxed.\r
\r
i didn't get to get my nails done because the salon didnt have some cuticle tools that day so the most i would get is file and paint. \r
\r
anyhow before i left, i was so unhappy that i mentioned to the lady at the counter regarding my haircut and at least they were all very nice and said to come back to see fred, who i guess owns the salon and they will redo my hair free of charge, so i will give it another try and go back to get my hair done and my nails done. \r
\r
for now my advise is do not use hair stylist marisa, most irresponsible unprofessional hair stylist i have ever seen. if i do return a satisfied customer next week, i will come back and update my review.

First, I think that it it important to note that most of the people who have given this place 5 stars have not reviewed anything besides this place. Now, as I am doing now, I can understand creating an account because of an awful experience, but going out of your way and creating an account because of a great one, well, is a lot less likely, and if you have ever stepped into this saloon, there is no way that you would give it 5 stars- even if you got a great haircut (seriously, just drop by and walk in and say hello, and you will see why I say this....)

I bought a promotion off the street - BIG MISTAKE - I have learned my lesson.

The package is a SCAM. Its NOT a good deal.
- BEWARE of ridiculous charges for add on services
- BEWARE that the services they offer are performed at the bare minimum.

-Eyebrow Wax-
I got my eyebrows waxed and they only waxed below my eyebrow. They didnt wax above, or between the eyebrows. I am still perplexed about this one....

-Nails-
My nails were rushed and done poorly. I am awful at doing my nails and I honestly could have done a better job.

-Facial-
The facial was literally 5 min.

-Haircut-
Haircut was okay. I kind of got what I wanted and asked for, kind of not, but I am happier with it now. My haircut took 25min at most. When I finished my haircut and the rest of my services and was given my bill, they added on $20 to blowdry my hair. I would have walked out of that saloon with wet hair before paying an insane amount of money to blowdry my hair, which, although longer, is thinner and doesnt take more than 4 min to blowdry. Its really not worth an extra $20 when a blowdry and style is already supposed to be included in the price.

When I bought the promotion, I was told that I was to pay an extra $15 when I got there for drinks, etc. THERE ARE NO DRINKS - I wasnt even offered water. Which would be fine, if it wasn't something that I was promised.

So I paid $95 for a 2 min facial, to get 25% of my eyebrows waxed, a sub par hair cut and 'manicure.'

WHAT THIS SALOON IS DOING IS VERY WRONG, its false advertising.

If you have had an experience like me you should not only call in to talk to the manager/owner of the saloon, but also call the hotel and send them your complaints. This saloon gives them a bad name too.

Pros: subpar haircut.... is that pro? i guess for this place it is

Cons: everything - Big SCAM

.

Totally agree. This place is a nightmare. I left crying.\r
They totally screwed up my hair. I look like a mannequin now. The color they applied was totally different that one I had previously. The touch up - they called it that was a touch up of disaster - absolutely horrendous. Was trying to do my nails too - left after the lady did my first finger no one has an idea how do to things in there. And I had a bad impression the second I walked into that salon...\r

Nardi Salon is great! I received exceptional service. It is worth every penny! Before I visited the salon, my hair was a complete disaster. My stylist is Nancy. SHE IS AMAZING!!! She worked magic! I have never received so many compliments on my hair. It looks stylish, healthy, and simply fantastic!

I have to say I was a little worried about going to this salon after the reviews! I spoke with someone who works there, and they told me if you notice the people who write the all the bad reviews, they haven't wrote any other reviews for any other businesses! So it must be just one person writing these bad reviews. All I can say is that I got a fabulous cut from Nancy. I have to say really I LOVE IT!!!! This salon has been there for 45 years in a HOTEL. There is probably someone bad naming it, and that just terrible. I don't thing they would be in a hotel on Park Avenue for 45 years if they didn't have a lot of clients of their own. I recommend Nancy, and Patrico has he did my friend hair. Also I spoke with the owner about this before I got a haircut. As I was a little bit nervous, He showed me that he has been featured in the New York Times, the Post, the Daily News, and Tons of Magazines which you all can see from the walls. Also that he came out with a book on hair that sells in all the major bookstores, and that he has his own product lines as well. He use to do Jackie Onassis which was in the NY Times article. He has that in a Frame on the wall. I can tell he was very proud of that. I believe that just one person is writing all the bad reviews. The Salon is charming nice place with really good people who care. If they didn't they would have closed like 45 years ago. That has to tell you something. \r

Let me start by saying that I have been to the best of the best in New York. All the ""Best of Citysearch"" salons...been to them. I actually walked into the Nardi's salon for the first time nearly in tears from a horrible dye job done by a celebrity stylist in New York. I was really nervous letting Fred Nardi touch my hair because I had just gotten such a bad job done. Nardi listened very carefully to me, he calmed my nerves and then gave me the BEST COLOR I have ever had! I have a very difficult shade of red and not only did he make it look healthy and natural, you would never know I had anything bad done the day before. His salon is nice, his staff could not be more sweet. If you are looking for super high quality hair styling in New York without the diva attitude and shamefully high prices...GO TO FRED NARDI SALON. I don't think I will ever let anybody else touch my hair again!

I recently went to the salon after buying one of the street promotions. I was really scared after reading a couple of the bad reviews. But I was open minded, and I went in anyways. I really love the whole experience. This salon was totally worth it. You see people writing some bad reviews. But they don't realize that it's been around for 45 years in a park avenue hotel! If they didn't do a good job they wouldnt last for 45 years. That is a really long time. Plus the Hotel would kick them out of the location if they were doing a good job. That has to tell you its worth a try. I love my stylist PATRICO

I just moved up to the city and was in desperate need for a haircut. I was so nervous about going to a new salon because i have been going to the same one in California for years and was so scared to trust someone new. After being stop by the Nardi promotions team on 34th Street I decided to give them a shot! From the minute i called, i was greeted with warmth and kindness. I ended up seeing Patrico for my cut color, and they were FABULOUS! i have never felt so good! I got the most beautiful highlights and my cut is amazing. Who would have thought I would look good in Bangs!? Please, do yourself a favor and try them out :)

I went to Nardi Salon for the first time. I bought a promotions in Union Square, and Fred Nardi gave me an awesome haircut! I get stopped everywhere by people who compliment my hair. The salon is very busy, perhaps too busy. But it was a Saturday and most salons are very busy on the weekends! The staff there are warm and friendly. They serve free wine at the salon! I will be going back to Fred from now on as he did such a great job!

I just wanted to write to say that I did complain about their promotional company's telling soo many lies. However, I was able to get the services I paid for. I was not concerned about whether the lies about champagne were true or not.\r
I was pleased with the haircut and manicure.

I had a great experience at this salon. Particularly I received a haircut and color by Fred. Both were perfect!\r
I was there on a Saturday. It was a little busy but the staff was attentive to me and my needs. I asked for coffee and water. The receptionist was very helful. The promotion was what brought me in. I read the back because it had all the extras and small print so i knew what to expect. The saleswoman did seem a little pushy, but a friend of mine had come here before so i knew the salon was legit. I told the owner about all the lies the promoters are telling people to sell these promos. He apologized and said he spoke to them once before, and he will again. I guess these promoters are money hungry and it shows in their sales. I They should get rid of them all together because it should not be a representation of the salon. Anyway, I did have a pleasant experience and will be back. I was very happy with my hair. I did not get a chance to use the other services yet.... Dont judge by the sales people.

I have been coming to Nardi for years and I will never go anywhere else. The staff is very conscientious of your specific hair needs (my hair can get very dry and brittle, and they always make it look lustrous when I leave there). The stylist that I go to is Nancy, and she is a wiz at cutting and styling. She told me to write a review for them here, and I am more than happy to do it :) - Anyone looking for a high quality cut and a salon with nice atmosphere should check Nardi out.
