They do stay open later than 6:00 P.M. (Till 9:00.) That garners them an extra star! Occasionally, GC has some quality used stuff--even stuff available from other stores may be shipped to your local store. As for personnel, sometimes, it may depend upon who is working: High-Turnover among personnel is a problem. As for buying a Squier, "Mexican-Fender," Epiphone, etc.--why do it here? (I'm indicating that it may prove wise to buy used or elsewhere .) GC tends to overdo the "very common." I've seen open frustration from some personnel concerning people merely looking--not buying. ("Sticker-shock!" Commission sales? "Blood from a turnip?") Sometimes, though, buying here is a lot less hassle then ordering--that is for certain lesser items. They have a lot of stuff--just not everything. Lots of it is "Bling," very visible, that most people can't easily afford.

Guitar Center. What can you say? The Walmart of the music instrument world. It's big, it has an extensive selection, even has a few vintage guitars. If you've seen this Guitar Center you've seen just about every other one on the planet. Good place to try stuff out but don't count on having a one-of-a-kind shopping experience.
