I prefer going to off campus bookstores. Off Campus Books in Richardson, TX is a great one. They always have staff to help you and will get you an answer to any question, instead of just saying "I don't know." They were really nice about working with me on my financial aide and told me when to come back to sell my books for the best price.

I have been buying my books at off-campus for eight semesters now and have never had a bad experience. There is always someone around to help (unlike on-campus, where you have to stand in a line to get any help) and rarely were they out of a book I needed (which they ordered for me and had ready before class started).

They have free scantrons and a great selection of UTD gear. They even let me price shop in peace!

I went to the Off Campus Bookstore back in mid-May 2008 for my college algebra books and was told that they did not have any available. I bought the books at UTD and took the class. Once the class was over I went back (8-12-08) to the Off Campus Bookstore to sell these books that they did not have back in May. I walked in and stood right by the door when this man sitting at the desk ask if I was selling my books. I said yes and he told me that they had enough books. Fine, if their inventory was full, that's one thing. This guy did not even get a good look at my books! He offered me $2.00. I walked out and took my books to UTD. They gave me $52.25 for my books, which I used to buy my books for my fall class. I will not be going back to the Off Campus Bookstore and will tell everyone in my future classes about this experience.

The best thing about this place is that they have free scantrons. Almost every other bokstore that I know charges for scantrons, but not here, which is great. The books here are a lot cheaper than the ones on campus, which is an added bonus. The employees are always willing to help and they buyback rate on books is really good.

PROS: price, employees, free scantrons
CONS:

I attended UTD for both my undergraduate and my graduate. I always purchased my books at off campus books. The people there have always been friendly and they beat the prices of the on-campus store. They also had more used books and I was able to get help before I knew the floorplan. I would definetly recommend getting my books here.

PROS: helpful and friendly staff
CONS: make sure you're looking -- it's behind the Brahms Ice Cream store!

I am usually a lazy person in whatever I do but getting ripped off buying books that I need for school is just wrong. I used to attend UTD and so it is just this place or the "on campus" bookstore owned by Barnes and Noble that cater to our text book needs. I came this place to get some used books but found out that half of the books were not on the shelves. And this was two weeks into the semester! The people who work there are lazy and I would never go there again! Ebay is the way to go!

This bookstore is in Richardson and caters to college students. They sell used and new books. But you need to make sure you buy your books early as the store sells out of their used books extremely fast! The prices are not the best. However, the staff is always willing to help. They have UTD logo products and planners. The variety of stuff that they sell is endless. They can make sure that you start college on the right foot. They also carry a large selection of study guides for things like the TeXes test.

The bookstore in richardson caters to UTD students. They sell used and new books. Make sure you buy your books early as this store sells out of their used books EXTREMELY FAST! The prices are not "the best deal in town", I have definately received better deals on books on half.com or on the student book exchange online. However, I have always loved shopping because the staff is always willing to help. They have UTD logo products and planners. The variety is endless.

PROS: Helpful Staff, great selection
CONS: not the best deal in town (price-wise)
